The Big Three

Two days later. One day ahead of Katsuki... you and Izuku Midoriya were freed from your house arrest. Comeback time!

"We apologize for the inconvenience we caused!!" You and Izuku exclaimed at the same time while bowing to your classmates. You both have intense determined looks on your faces.

"Himawari, Deku, thank you both for all your hard labor!!" Ochaco said with a smile.

The two of you then faced Iida. "Class rep!! We are sorry for disappointing you!!"

"Oh... as long as you've both reflected on your wrongdoings..." Iida replies, feeling baffled by you and Izuku's pumped up attitude. "Are you both alright?"

"Never been better!" You responded with a blaze burning in your emerald orbs. "Izuku, let's bridge the gap between us and our friends from the last two days!!"

"Yeah!!!" An determined Deku agreed.

"Ohhh! Nice! I like your attitude." Eijiro called out with enthusiasm.

You, Izuku and the rest of Class 1-A take your seats as class began. You have only been under house arrest for two days, but you along with Katsuki and Izuku became completely out of the loop during that time. Now that you and Izuku are free after two days, both of you are determined to catch up on what you missed.

"Well, now that Midoriya and Yagi have returned, let's formally talk about the work studies." Mr. Aizawa looks towards the classroom door and calls out to someone to come inside. The door opens and three third-year UA students entered. "Let's hear firsthand from those with personal experience... how these work studies are different from internships. They have made time in their busy schedules to come and talk to you all, so please listen to what they have to say. These three third-years rank among the top of all UA students. They're known as... The Big Three!"

The top hero candidates of Japan are a beautiful girl, a boy with pointed ears and pale skin, and a friend you made during your internship at Sir Nighteye's Agency.

"Lemillion!" You gasped.

Mirio Togata smiled big and points at you with finger guns. "It's nice to see you again too, Himawari!"

The beautiful girl gave you a friendly smile. "Oh! So you're Hikari Yagi! Me and Amajiki heard a lot about you! Hey, hey, has anybody told you how pretty you look?"

"Thank you!" You replied. "And you're gorgeous, Hado! Togata told me about you and Amajiki!" You noticed Amajiki looking at you from the corner of his eyes, so you waved at him casually. "And you must be Tamaki Amajiki. Togata told me you two have been friends since grade school."

Amajiki stared at you for a moment before turning away and sulking against a wall. "It's just as I thought... she shines as bright as Mirio..."

You lowered your hand and sweat-dropped, wondering if you accidentally offended him in any way.

"Don't take it too personally." Mirio reassured. "He's just shy."

'As long as it's not my fault.' You thought.

"Hikari, you already know The Big Three?" Kyoka asked in astonishment.

"I got to know Togata during my internship with Sir Nighteye!" You answered.

"That's right!" Togata points at himself with his thumb. "I helped train our little sunflower to have a better flow of water. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, she's making waves!"

Hado then spoke to Shoji. "Hey, hey, by the way! Why're you wearing a mask? Catch a cold? Or is that the latest fashion?" Before Shoji could tell her his story, she  quickly shifted her attention to Todoroki. "Oh, and you! You're Todoroki, right?! Right!? Why do you have a burn on your face like that?!" Same thing. Hadoop points out to another one of your classmates before she got a reply. "And you, Ashido... if those horns break, do they grow back? Can you move 'em?! Hey! What about you, Mineta? Are those ball things on your head your hair? How do you cut it?! Asui, are you a tree? You're not a toad, right? No matter who I look at, all of you have things that pique my interest! How strange!"

'Nejire Hado sure is a natural airhead.' You thought to yourself. 'She's like a kindergartener.'

While Mineta started to act gross after misunderstanding Hado's question, your female upperclassman started to ask Ojiro a question about his tail.

Your homeroom teacher glared at Togata. "I see you're all lacking any sort of rationality."

"Please do not worry, Eraserhead!" Togata reassures confidently. He points to himself with his thumb. "I'm the key performer here today, after all!" He cups his hand behind his ear and leans his body towards the class. "The journey ahead--?!"

You and your classmates looked at your upperclassman in utter confusion. Does he want you to finish the sentence?

"That's where you say: "Will be full of difficulties!" Togata stands straight and rubs the back of his neck. "Alright! You all utterly fail at getting the point of the conversation!"

The students of Class 1-A whispered to eachother, saying that The Big Three were weirdos and that their personalities don't evoke their title. Yes, you'll admit that your upperclassmen are a bit... unique in their own way, but you've trained with Togata and know how well he can use his Quirk.

"Well, I can see from all your faces that you've got no clue what's going on. The explanation of the work studies, which are not even a requirement... has been left to these third year students who just appeared all of a sudden. I get it, it doesn't make much sense, right? You acquired your provisional licenses as first years... is that right? Hrm... this year's first years are really... energetic, aren't they...? I see... well, it seems like my intro fell flat here, so... how would you all like to team up... and fight against me?!"

"H... Huuuuuuuh~!?" You and your classmates exclaimed in bewilderment.

Togata rubs his nose with his index finger and winks at Mr. Aizawa. "It would make the most sense for them to witness and fell our own "experience" with their own bodies, wouldn't you say?! Wouldn't you say, Eraserhead?!"

Eraserhead stared at the blonde upperclassman for a moment before answering. "Do as you like."

With that said, you and the rest of your classmates changed into your PE uniforms and met up with Aizawa and the Big Three at the Gamma Gym.

"Um... Togata, are you serious about this?" You questioned as you did some warm-ups.

"Oh, I'm dead serious, Himawari!" Your upperclassman replied while stretching his legs.

"Mirio... you shouldn't do this." Amajiki advised solemnly while sulking against the wall. "It would be more than enough for you to just formally tell them that "It'll be valuable for you to be in this sort of condition." It's not as if they've all been completely full to capacity in trying to improve themselves, after all. No matter what, you must not make it so these kids aren't able to get back on their feet anymore."

"Ah! Hey, listen to this!" Hado spoke while playing with Mina's horns. "Did'ja know? A while back, there was a kid who got so frustrated, he completely gave up on becoming a hero, and caused all sorts of problems! Did'ja know?! That Togata, he really had it rough! So you really gotta think things through properly, or it will only be hard on you! Reeaally hard, ok~?"

"Wait just a moment..." Tokoyami spoke. "Although we may have a handicap, we've got pros fighting on our side as well."

"And we've got experience fighting villians, too!" Eijiro adds.

"Are you all worrying about us that much because we're younger than you?" You asked, unamused and slightly irritated.

"Yep!" Togata responded. "Feel free to come at me from wherever and whenever you want! So, who's up first?!"

You were about to step forward, but then Izuku speaks up and says that he'll go first. Eijiro was a little disappointed since he wanted to go first. If you recall, Mirio Togata's Quirk is Permeation, which allows him to pass through any kind of matter. He activates his Quirk to pass through Izuku's attack (and it also made him intangible to his clothes, so he's stark naked, unfortunately). He also uses his Quirk to pass through the long-range attacks from you and most of your classmates. Togata took down the long-range attacks before taking care of the close-range fighters. You were one of the long-range attackers, so you were groaning in pain with the others while Togata took the rest of your friends out with one punch each.

"Whewwwww!! Just managed to keep the jewels under wraps!!" Togata says after putting his clothes back on. "My apologies for all that, ladies!! And so--- that's the gist of it!"

"Without understanding how, all of us only suffered punches to the gut..." Izuku groans out while clutching his stomach in pain.

He's not the only one. Every student in Class 1-A were in pain from being punched in the gut. The only reason Todoroki wasn't punched was because he didn't participate in the fight.

"Was my Quirk strong?"

"Your Quirk is too strong!" Hanta shouted.

"It's so unfair!" Toru complained. "I only have Invisibility!"

"Not only phasing, but teleportation too?!" Mina exclaimed. "Are you one of those hybrids like Todoroki and Hikari?!"

"Hey! I'm not a hybrid!" You refuted. "Also, Togata only has one Quirk and it's called Permeation. His Quirk allows him to pass through every form of matter." Realizing that you just explained the secret of Permeation without Togata's consent, you covered your mouth with both hands and apologized to your blonde upperclassman.

"You're cool. There's no need to apologize, Himawari!" Togata reassures you before turning to your classmates. "She's right! That "teleportation" is just an application of my Quirk! And when she said every form of matter, that includes the ground!!"

Ochaco's eyes widened. "Ah... then that was... that was you falling...?!"

"Correct! I fall into the ground! And if I release my Quirk while I'm falling, something mysterious happens. It's as if the mass can't overlap on top of each other... so I get catapulted out! In other words, I get shot out of the ground in an instant! That's the phenomenon behind my "teleportation". By adjusting the direction and pose of my body, I can control the angle and target where I'm shot out to!"

Mina pouts. "...? It sounds like a videogame glitch."

Togata bursts out laughing. "What a perfect way to put it!!"

"Not just being able to avoid any attack, but also to move wherever you want in an instant..." Said Tsuyu who's quite impressed. "That really is a strong Quirk."

Togata shakes his head. "Not at all. It's strong because I made it strong. When I activate my Quirk, no oxygen can come into my lungs. After all, even if I inhale, it all passes through me. My eardrums don't vibrate. My retinas catch no light. Everything passes through me.I become unable to feel anything. But because I still have mass, the only thing I feel is the sensation of falling. Are you starting to understand now? Let's say that I want to pass through a wall. I activate my Quirk, except for one foot. Then I release it in the other foot, so it can contact the ground. Then I activate it in the first foot and pass through. Even the simplest of movements requires a set of operations."

"If it were us, we'd probably mess it up if we were in a rush..." The thought of having Mirio Togata's Quirk made Denki feel a bit anxious.

Mineta shares the electric blonde's eneasiness. "On top of that, if you can't feel anything anymore, you might not be able to move..."

"Right you are! I fell behind! Before I knew it, every last thing had fallen away. Even my clothes. And with this Quirk, if you wanna keep movin' up, that's the last thing you can afford to let happen!" Togata vigorously taps his forehead. "That's why you need prediction! It's the way to be faster than your surroundings. The way to trick time. Prediction is the most critical skill of all! And the thing that makes those predictions possible is... Experience! Predictions are built on experience! It took a little bit of time, but that's why I wanted to play this game with you all. Instead of with words, I want to show you with my "experience!" In the work studies, we're no longer treated like "guests", but rather we act as sidekicks for the pros! And that is a very terrifying thing. There have been instances where people have died...! Nonetheless, no matter how scary or difficult the thought may be, all of it is an invaluable experience that you can't get in school." Togata lifts his clenched fist towards you with enthusiasm. "With the experience I gained from my work studies, I was able to transform my powers and reach the top! And for that reason, scary or not, this is an opportunity you cannot miss out on, first years!!"

You smiled as you and your classmates applauded for Togata. He sounded like a real pro when he gave that explanation. Thinking back to your internship at Sir Nighteye's Agency, it's true that it felt like you were treated like a "guest". You mostly trained during your internship and Sir Nighteye made sure you didn't do anything too dangerous. Plus, when Togata helped you with your training, it seemed as though he held back unlike today. After you all said thank you to your three upperclassmen, the trio left.

At Heights Alliance, you hung out with Katsuki in your dorm room and told him about your day.

Katsuki groaned. "What's so special about that moron?"

You plopped down on your bed next your boyfriend. "I'm not saying he is, Blasty. Togata gave us good advice about the work studies. You don't have to act all jealous."

Katsuki clicked his tongue and straddled you. "I'm not jealous, and what the hell did you call me?"

You placed your arms around Katsuki's neck as you laughed. "You say that you're "not jealous", but you looked annoyed when I talked about our upperclassman. And as for calling you "Blasty", it's just my little nickname for you~"

Katsuki smirks. "Whatever, Teddy Bear."

You pulled your boyfriend closer to you and the two of you started to make out. After a while, he pulls away and looks you in the eye.

"I'm going to catch up."

You smiled. "I know you will, Lord Explosion Murder."

Katsuki smiles and kisses your forehead. As he was trailed kisses down your neck, a knock from your door makes him stop. Irritated by the sudden interruption, Katsuki reluctantly got off you so that you can see who was at the door.

"Hey, Izuku. What's up?"

Izuku notices Katsuki in your dorm room and starts to stutter. He's well aware that you and Kacchan are in a romantic relationship, so he immediately realized that he came at a bad time.

"Oh! Uh, s-sorry! D-did I interrupt something, or...?" Deku stuttered as he took a step back.

"What's it look like you Damn nerd!?" Katsuki calls out from behind you, making the freckled boy flinch.

"I'm really sorry! I just have something important to ask Himawari."

You waited to hear what your childhood friend wants to talk about.

"Himawari, are you going to do your work studies at Sir Nighteye Agency?" You nodded to confirm his question is the truth. Izuku then takes a deep breath and bows. "Then... could you please introduce me to Sir Nighteye for the work studies!?"

"Sure." You replied calmly.

Izuku stood up straight. "Really?!"

"Of course. You really didn't have to bow." You invited your green-haired friend into your room, much to Katsuki's annoyance. "So, what made you want to do your work studies with Sir Nighteye?" You sat down on your bed next to Katsuki.

Izuku pulled up the chair at your desk and sat down while facing you. "Earlier, I spoke with Gran Torino on the phone and he suggests that I go talk to All Might and ask him to introduce me to his former sidekick, Sir Nighteye."

You remembered meeting Gran Torino when you were visiting your parents at the hospital. He's also one of the heroes who came to rescue you and Katsuki back in Kamino.

"But then I remembered that you also know Sir Nighteye, so I came to you first."

"Well, Nighteye and my parents had a falling out that ended their partnership. Knowing my dad, he'll probably refuse because of that."

"So this former sidekick knows about One For All, too?" Katsuki questions.

You nodded. "I figured he'd know since he worked with mom and dad, I asked mom about it just to make sure."

"Kacchan said to me... "If you've got the strongest person helping you out, you can't be losing!"... All Might gave me One For All." Izuku's eyes looks at you with determination. "If I'm under the guidance of Nighteye, I think it will serve as a strong point of comparison to him. I have to... become many times stronger... than anyone else, no matter the cost!"

You and your boyfriend glanced at each other then you turned back to Izuku. "There's also another question I want to ask you, Izuku. What kind of hero... do you want to become?"

"What kind...?" Izuku stared at you for a moment before answering. "I want to save people with a smile, and..." He looks down and is silent for a second before continuing. "I want to be strong enough so I won't worry people. I want to always win and save everybody." He gives you the same determined expression. "I want to be the best hero of them all!"

You grinned in satisfaction. "That doesn't sound like a bad answer. Plus, I think you and Nighteye will get along just fine!"

Izuku shifts his attention to Katsuki. "Oh! And good luck in your remedial course, Kacchan!"

Upon hearing that, Katsuki suddenly became angry at his rival.

"What the fuck?! You think I won't get my damn provisional license, nerd!? Huh!?"

"What!? No! That's not what I meant!" Izuku held up his hands in defense.

"He's just wishing for your success, Katsuki!" You put your hand on your boyfriend's chest to prevent him from charging at Deku. "Calm down!"
