Chapter 5 - Meeting 1

Its been two weeks since she had transmigrated. Every night for the past two weeks she would go into the space to train. She had already cleared her meridians with Bobo's help. Even though it was painful enough for her to faint, Bobo was there to give timely help.

Making a herbal soak was much easier than making pills. It was more like boiling the herbs in water to get the right potency. If she wanted to start making pills she first need to set up her martial and soul realm foundation.

She had already decided that she was going to cultivate both the body and soul. In her previous lifetime she died because of the schemes in the dark. But she wouldn't have died because of that if she had a stronger body. She would have just failed her tribulation and have had serious internal injuries.

She could have set up a foundation sooner but she was waiting for all impurities to be cleared from her body and meridians. Setting a stronger foundation was very important, as stronger the foundation the easier the cultivation will be when you make breakthroughs later. A weaker foundations only riddles your body with injuries which makes breakthroughs that much harder.

She was going to do it tonight.

This world had Pill Makers, but during the waring years many distinguished Pill Makers died and with them died the study of Alchemy. The people here still made pills but with prescriptions found in the ruins or wild. These prescriptions only had the ingredients used but not the process or instructions.

Alchemy was not an easy profession. The success rate of making pills was1:4 and that was with experienced Pill Makers. The most important thing with refining pills was not prescriptions and herbs, though these were important, experience and patience was a lot more important.

An Alchemist needed to know just how much heat was needed to melt the herb, just how much time had to elapse before adding the next ingredient and how much the herb needed to be purified to have the highest potency. Only with refining pills repeatedly would you know the process of Alchemy.

Refining pills was not the same as simply decocting medicine. Every single medicinal herb's essence had to be extracted while at the same time removing the impurities forming a powder or liquid. Wanting to train in alchemy methods required not only a strong pill flame but also required a strong spiritual energy. The controlling of these spirit flame had its own requirement and it had its own soul.

Because of that people here had found their own unique way of Alchemy. They didn't use stoves and furnaces but had invented an artifact called Rune furnace. This furnace didn't need the person to have his own fire nor did it need the person to powder or melt the herbs. They melted and purified all the herbs separately before adding it to the furnace after which you could get pills with a very high success rate. The pills could be mass produced instead of being rare.

The only problem was that these pills were of a lower grade and had low efficacy. There were true Alchemists but they guarded their books and notes like a hamster with food. The only people lucky to see them were their disciples.

Alchemists were divided into Pill Apprentice, Pill Adept, Pill Master, pill Emperor and Pill God. In this world right now there were only 2 Pill emperors who lived in seclusion and a few Pill Masters that were mostly professors in distinguished academies.

Pills could be divided into five grades: Low Grade, Middle Grade, High Grade, Top grade, and Peerless Grade. There was a stage above Pill God and Peerless grade called Saint Pill Maker. Even in her previous life she had only heard of them but never seen them.

A Saint Pill Maker was someone who could refine the elements of heaven and earth before adding them to the Pills. Though it sounded simple but the process of refining an element elixir before adding them to the pills was almost impossible for the normal Alchemist, because the Alchemist had to be a high level cultivator to be able to sense the elements in the air. Saint Pills because of having elemental energy in them were born with a slight sense of sentience. So the Pill Maker had to subdue the Pill after it came out of the furnace, otherwise the pill would run away, which was its own headache. A Saint pill was divided into Godly and Heavenly. While Godly Saint Pills only had to be subdued, Heavenly Saint pills had to go through heavenly tribulations to come into form, hence the word heavenly in them.

She was now going home school. She hadn't told Mama Lena about her being able to cultivate. But she would soon because she didn't want to go to a school for common people anymore but a school to learn martial arts.

She was now a pupil in Grade III. As soon as she reached the age, Mama Lena sent her to an elementary school and asked her to work hard, so that she would have a promising future. She didn't need to do any housework at home from that day on.

After going to school she realised that while the world centred around getting stronger, this world was a lot more advanced. There were carts that didn't need horses, electricity, a box where you could see plays, a small pad that could make calls to people anywhere in the world.

She was very surprised by the intellect of this world's people. She also started to spend all her free time at the library so that she could get all the information she needed about this world. She not only found information about this world, but also the different types of races that resided here.

When she went out from the school, Milner from the family of village head, stopped her midway. It took her some time to get rid of Milner. So it took longer for her to reach home.

The school was very far away from home. By the time Maei reached home, the sun was already half setting.

As soon as she walked into the courtyard, she saw a high-end black car stop at the gate. She stopped hesitantly.

Maei looked around and didn't come in until she found she was not mistakenly going into someone else's courtyard. So she walked in hesitantly.

They were all dressed in costly suits. Especially the shiny necklace of the woman in the middle quickly made Mama Lena pale in comparison. Maei immediately retreated and looked at them with her brows Wrinkled.

As soon as Mrs. Demaris saw her biological daughter, she burst into crying. That was her only daughter...

"Mom..." Maei looked at Mama Lena helplessly and with questions in her eyes.

Before Helena could respond, Mrs. Demaris answered, "I am here!" And then, more tears were coming out from her eyes.

Maei grabbed her bag in surprise. She didn't understand why the woman would respond to her call. Nor did she know why those strangers were looking at her with surprise. She didn't even know why Mama Lena was having a serious face and looked unhappy.

She didn't know that her life would change dramatically from this day on.
