Chapter 30 - Forming a Wing

They walked briskly towards the first year dorms.

"How many in your wing?" Rhys asked.

"My wing?"

"Your group...we call a group of year mates a wing."

"Oh..." Maei felt a little silly. She had known that. "There are twelve of us."

"A good number. What kind of mix do you have?" He continued as he wanted to know about the newest wing to join the Alpha flight. On the way he started to dial the Dorm common room. A person could only call their flight mates from their pads.

"I don't understand the question." Maei said honestly.

Rhys nodded and was about to speak, but the call was picked up.

"Who is this? Sky come to the first year dorm area with a couple more people." And hanged up before explaining anything.

"I didn't either when I was in your spot, you will learn." He continued.

Maei was left with her mouth opened by how he gave the command and hung up. She was starting to get why her brother said that he was a man of few words. Though she was confused, he was talking to her nicely, She thought as they walked into the common room where everyone was working on getting their training boots clean.

As soon as everyone saw her they stood and waited anxiously for her to say something.

"Are we in trouble?" Roi asked before she could say anything. Then they spotted Rhys behind her. "Who's this?"

"No at least I don't think so. This is Rhys Griffin of Alpha Flight." She introduced as she glanced at him.

Everyone was stunned on seeing the famous Rhys Griffin in front of them.

Rhys first glanced at Roi who was standing beside her before glancing around the group. He nodded pleased by the fact they were working on getting their things spotless and doing it in a way that will not leave a mess.

He waited for a few moments before Sky, Cade, Paul came in with other teammates of Alpha flight.

"Let me introduce myself, I am Rhys Griffin flight leader of Alpha flight. I am a sixth year and from today onwards you are members of Alpha flight."

Sky and his teammates as well as her group were all stunned.

Simon asked again just to confirm, " Excuse me, Alpha Flight, as in the elite flight?"

"I will explain more when we reach our common room and tell you more about it. For now pack your things. We have half an hour before your year mates return and we have to be gone before that." Rhys ordered as members of his own wing walked in and helped move the foot lockers for them.

Maei took her clean boots from Roi, "Thanks Roi." She told him as they all moved to their beds to pack their lockers up. Rhys glanced at the boy again.

They were in fact almost packed up since Maei made sure to make them keep their things neat and tidy.

As they were packing up Lorcan heard the news and came running. Seeing his little sister he was delighted knowing that she would be under his care from now on. He went to give her a hand.

"Hey baby girl." Lorcan walked up to her and gave her a hug before taking her trunk from her to pack her things up.

"Elder brother" Maei was startled on seeing her brother before it strikes her that Rhys was his team Leader.

Lorcan patted her on her head and took her foot locker outside. Others were also done packing and everything was on the luggage pad.

Lorcan looked around the dorm room and said, " Oh Nessa and the other instructors are going to have fun with this class."

Only twelve bunks were neat and tidy while the others had things thrown all over.

"If they don't strangle them." A winged faery observed.

"Put your beds back to the way they were when you first saw them." Lorcan ordered everyone. Now that the second in command was here Rhys didn't say much and let him be the one to give orders. Anyway he knew what to do.

Seriously how lazy was this man.

Lorcan went to help his sister put her bunk back the way it was. Ten minutes later they were done and on their way to the flight dorms.

When the other year mates came back from their training they were alarmed to find that Maei's group was gone and so were their things.

They started to wonder if they were expelled or were taken by the instructors somewhere else.

Anyway the annoying group who said yes sir and no sir were no longer there to bother them....
