Setting Plans In Motion

Wilson pulled the tip of his jacket closer to his jaw. The military coloured jacket fitted him tightly. He rubbed his hands together before closing his door and walking down the small path that led to the next house.

He had formed a habit of walking with Conrad whenever they were on duties. It was better this way since both of them were new and they gave each other good company.

Sure enough when he arrived at the next unit, Conrad was waiting outside while constantly glancing at his wrist watch.

"What took you so long? We will barely make it to the base with the little time we have!"

"Sorry, sorry," Wilson raised his hands with a slight smirk on his face. "I told you I had to put on something cool."

Wilson gestured to his shiny boots with pointed edge with a satisfied smile. Conrad rolled his eyes at him. "That's hardly cool. I wonder where you sacrificed your sense of fashion."

Wilson chuckled. "I guess I ate it for breakfast."

They talked as they walked along towards the side of the road where they would take a cab. Conrad eyed Wilson a bit and wanted to tell him how unwise it was to wear his uniform even before they arrived at the base but in the end he gave up on it.

As they walked along, Conrad noticed from the corner of his eyes as Wilson fell over with a loud thud. He quickly spun around but his reaction wasn't well timed. His face met squarely with a powerful punch that sent him down as well.

K3 shook his hand with a grimace. "This is why I hate to punch so hard."

K1 chuckled at his words. "It's not your fault, the guy just has a face as hard as iron."

They each dragged one man to the building they came from. They brought both Conrad and Wilson to the unit then locked the door. They stripped the two guards of their clothes and took their uniform as well.

It took a little search to find their IDs. K1 flipped the ID with a smile. "This looks good; I'll be Conrad from now on."

K3 didn't bother to reply to his comment. He tucked away the ID and emptied Wilson's bag and took it with him. He pressed his ear piece and reported, "Phase one in progress, stand by."

"Copy that." The voice on the other end replied.

They tied up the two men and taped their mouths before locking them inside the room. They took a cab and headed for the military's Base 52.

….

Another car stopped just a few blocks away from Base 52 and a man in white shirt and black pants stepped out. He wore an amiable smile and gave off an aura of friendliness to those who saw him. It made one want to be friends with him.

He nodded to a few people before entering the small house with his head ducked low. He had a bag slung over his shoulder. The moment he entered the house, he opened his bag and took out a laptop and set it up on the table.

The room was empty with only a chair and a table close to the window. He stretched and cracked his finger before sitting down. He clicked a few keys on the keyboard before pressing down on his ear piece. "K5 to K1 and K3, I'm in position now and the cameras will be disrupted the moment you give the go."

"Copy that, mate."

….

Just a few more blocks away—on the opposite side of the Base—a woman was standing with her back against a pole by the side of the road. She glanced around and would occasionally look at her wrist watch.

She appeared to be waiting for someone. Her eyes scanned the area and rested on a man on the other end who gave her a nod and she looked away. She pressed her ear piece and said, "K11 to team, we're in position."

"Wait for the signal." She received the instruction.

….

The car passed through a slightly bumpy portion of the road and the sudden jerk made the people inside to jerk as well. Richard glanced at Priscilla who was sitting with her back straight. She looked excited to be making this trip but at the same time he felt she was too…withdrawn.

She didn't say much ever since they got into the car. "You're really quiet today."

Priscilla turned to him with a puzzled face. She touched her ear with an apologetic look and asked, "What did you just say?"

"I said you're quiet."

"Oh," she said and pulled her hair back. "I just don't know what to discuss right now."

"We could discuss the weather," Pauline suggested with a sly smile. "Or we can talk about something more interesting."

"Like what?"

"Do you find men with good abs delicious?" she winked at Priscilla.

Priscilla gave a short laugh and her eyes twinkled. "I wouldn't say 'delicious'. More like, yummy."

Richard rolled his eyes at Pauline who only smiled widely. It was clearly a bad idea to bring the two along in the same vehicle. He knew that Pauline would try to fill Priscilla's mind with her dirty way of thinking.

He sighed.

They began to talk about the qualities they preferred in men and this time, Richard listened closely in spite of himself. He wanted to know what type of men Priscilla was interested in. he wasn't sure why he wanted to know but he felt it would be a useful thing to know.

Sadly that conversation didn't last long as the truck came to a stop just outside the large gate of the Base. The soldiers jumped out and showed their identifications and explained their reason for being there before the gate was opened for them.

Behind them, another car stopped and two men walked out with serious expressions. They moved quickly towards the gate and showed their IDs.

The soldier at the gate gave them a raised eyebrow. He had a large scar towards his left eye that almost left the eye useless. His face was wrinkled but he was still very energetic.

He looked intently at the two people and said, "Hey, Wilson Jobs? Don't you usually have a mole under your eye?"

K3 froze.
