"Yes," Alina let out a long sigh. "I wish there was more authentic evidence he could give us."
Nathan Beardsley smiled as he gently stroked Alina's back. He shook his head. And Alina responded to that differently.
"Why?" she asked. "Would you not like it if what Yu said in the recording turned out to be the truth?"
The man laughed softly. "No, that's not what I thought," he said.
He gently grabbed the girl's shoulder, bringing her into his arms. Kissed her shoulders, neck, and cheeks.
"Then what?"
Nathan tenderly pinched the top of the girl's nose, then said, "No matter how beautiful and amazing your friend finds, they will only become things that no longer matter to humans on Earth."
