CHAPTER FIFTY THREE

She looked at him, unsure if she had heard him right

"Did you just say we should get linked?" She asked 

"Yes I did. So if anyone kills you, you would just die temporarily. Once you wake up, the link will be broken but we can get linked as many times as we want. That way, we are both safe. You don't have to be scared of death and I don't have to move in with your dad" he said

"That kind of ritual would need a blood sacrifice"

"That is not an issue, c'mon. Your dad literally kills people every morning for the greater good. We can harness one of the deaths of the people he kills and if we can't, we will kill somebody!"

"No! We will not. Nobody is dying just because I am scared of the inevitable!" Diane said 

"What inevitable? This is just one death and your life is worth way more than that. Don't be stubborn please!"
