I honestly didn't care about the notifications, I had honestly just ignored them, rushing to Allaster.

"Hey, Allaster, you still alive? Please be alive."

"I still live, though that life is escaping me."

"C'mon, you have to lead the other foxes don't you?"

He chuckled and wheezed. "The only leader we foxes follow is ourselves, I always make up grand stories but I finally have one that isn't a lie, please tell it to others."

I activated my soul sense to see his soul depart. That's when it struck me, I belonged in the underworld didn't? Yet I was here. The thing that was holding my soul in my body was some kind of thread made of soul energy and what was abundant right now, souls.

I started forcing them to gather, chaining his soul to his body yet for some reason they kept snapping.

I kept trying for hours. I prolonged the time Allaster was alive. He was in immense pain so I used Mercy on him taking his pain.

"STAY TOGETHER DAMNIT, I WON'T LET HIM DIE!"

It just wasn't working, almost like fate itself was resisting it.

'Fateless one, stop trying, I have made this one be fated to die, it won't work.'

Who the fuck are you!

'I am the mistress of fate, the one who controls fate. I won't let you save this one, if he is allowed to survive, certain events will be set in motion that I just can't have happen so just stop trying fateless one.'

So, you have fated him to do right?

'Yes, I see that you're getting the picture.'

And I'm fateless rigth?

'Yes, you don't even belong in this world.'

You know, I don't like your brother and he doesn't seem to like me. So you know what you can do? YOU CAN FUCK OFF!

I started using the knowledge that I had no fate to my advantage. I bound his soul to both his body and the thread that kept my soul in my body. I could feel resistance from something but every time it tried to actually destroy the threads, it pulled back.

After that I fainted. When I woke up again I saw that Allaster had healed, being able to even walk again.

He had started to pile up the wolf corpses and had put the Alfa's corpse next to me. I was still damaged, something I had expected but not fully realized before fainting.

It hurt like hell, which is obvious since I was literally missing chuncks of my body.

I started eating the alfa, gaining the ability to shapeshift into him. I hadn't said it before but the wolf Alfa was stronger, not by a lot but you can see that he had evolved once.

Eating him also healed me, a bit anyways. I started scrolling through the anouncements I got from killing the wolves and one in particular stood out to me.

I had gotten ownership of the forest for some reason.

What do I get from having ownership of this forest Dee?

'For one, anyone that wants to enter here needs your permission, you can make it so that certain races can always enter it but for the rest, you need permission. Not even gods can enter places like this without permission although there are two known exceptions to that rule.

You also get all the treasures that were put into this forest, knowing what you have. You don't know where these things re though, although when someone claims the territory they do get small hints to help them find the treasures.

Lastly, you get the land itself, owning land is a system function. Gods can only own land on this plane until a mortal shows dominion over it, so you just stole land from Aurelion.'

That's actually really good.

I decided that I would evolve but Dee stopped me.

'Wait a minute, because I knew you probably wouldn't, I decided to check this forest's inventory and I found something really good. It's called the Light core, it's like the seed of this forest.

The reason it formed like this is because this core was here and I think you should eat it.'

I don't know Dee, wouldn't that cause the forest to stop existing?

'Nope, the core was only needed to create this forest. The only reason Aurelion left it here is because that it was a good energy supply when it stayed inside of this forest.'

I chacked it too. It had some really interesting stuff and apparently, every creature inside this forest was also in the inventory which made sense because their body parts were usefull.

Checking the hint I was really annoyed, not because I didn't know where it was, but because the place it was was a place I didn't like in the slightest.

{Core of Light

Rarity: Rare

Description: A core made by Aurelion, it is made from pure light energy and was the seed for the first tree in the forest of light.

Location: Look for the fruit of that which sprouted from it.}

Calling Allaster, he rushed over.

"I, the great Allaster, am glad that you're awake mistress. What can I do for you."

Ok, I knew I had technically enslaved him but I didn't know it would be apparent in such a way.

"We're going to the big tree in the center of the forest and take one of it's fruits."

"But mistress, shouldn't you heal first?"

"Yeah, I will do that first, I can barely summon my rock armour without being in pain."

With that, I started eating my fill untill I was completely healed and we set out to go get that core.
