Three days

After a while, I went to go sit on the roof of the inn. This had been my place when I wanted to think and be alone.

To my surprise, Markus joined me too, together with Allaster. I had grown closer with Markus, Nagi had been growing colder to anyone but Diana.

"So, what are you going to choose mistress?"

"Allaster, I think that you shouldn't expect her to make a decision this fast, especially since she has three days and needs to think about the consequences for both her and Diana."

I looked at Markus, mumbled thanks and just sat there in silence.

The moment Sang had said that Markus was destined to die I just didn't want to think about the choice before me.

My friend and one of my mentors, it just didn't feel right. It hadn't settled yet in my head. I don't know why but it hurt my deeply even thinking that he would die.

"Allaster, could you leave me and Markus alone for a while."

Before I was finished he dissapeared. He had started gaining more control over some of his skills, now he could teleport to shadows within 1 kilometer of him.

"Markus, I ..." I stopped talking. I didn't know what I was thinking but I shouldn't say something I wasn't sure about.

"Liz, even though I don't know you that long, I've started to develop feelings for you, and knowing that my death is eminent, I felt the need to tell you."

My heart fluttered a bit after hearing this, before I could even think more, I kissed him.

"Though I've never had the liberty of falling in love, I think I've started developing feelings for you too."

"I noticed." Markus had a stupid grin on his face, happy that I reciprocated his feeling.

We sat there for a little while longer, speaking our mind and discussing the choice she had given me.

"So why haven't you chosen yet? You are the quickest decision maker I know."

"Because I'm afraid, making a choice means acknowledging that you two are going to die and that I'm the one who has to take responsibility over Diana.

I've been a big sister before but I was extremely shit at it, now, I'll have to be a maternal figure, I mean, wouldn't you be afraid?"

"You're right, I would not like to be in your shoes right now. But I do hope you can make the right choice."

--------

Samg was in the training hall, furiously destroying everything around her.

"Stupid, STUPID STUPID STUPID! Why did do that, I should have just said that she didn't have a choice.

Ok, calm down, she'll probably let me come with, her race has protective instincts ingrained into them."

She calmed down, then looked around her and snapped her fingers, cleaning up the mess she'd made.

"You can come out of those shadows you know, hiding from me is impossible anyway, although it's amusing you think you can."

A gruff looking man came out of the shadows, the same one that had tried to stop her from going after the dragonkin.

"I see you're still here, Oshito isn't very happy about this."

"Yeah well, your god can stick that unhappiness up his ass, I'm old enough to remember when there was only one, so a little wimp like that god of yours is just a minor nuisance."

The gruff man chuckled. "A mortal against a god, you give yourself too much credit Ancient One."

Sang's eyes lit up, turning red. "Listen here you pathetic excuse for a Lycan, I have seen empires rise and fall, I have slain more dragons than you can count, I have seen the first god and the first dragon die. I have lived longer than any other, save my grandfather.

So if you want to get arrogant with me, be warned that I could destroy this entire city with a single thought, I could wipe this entire continent of the map and nobody could stop me.

So your little bard god is of little consequence to me. Now leave before I kill your alfa and take your precious turner."

The Aura she has just given off had been so strong that the walls had started cracking, the gruff man had started bleeding, from all his orifices.

"Oshito shall be notified of this Ancient One, this is an insult that shan't be forgiven."

She just chuckled as she waved him off. "Lycans are pathetic."

After that, the three days went by. I had spent them contemplating the options, and when she came, I still didn't have a concrete answer.

The reason was that I just didn't know her, so I made a decision there.

"I think we should do a trail period, you travel with us and then I can see if I can trust you."

"That's fair, not what I expected but your logic makes sense. So, when do we live this godforsaken city."

"Not yet, we're waiting for our Lobster friend to be done with what he's doing, then he said he can join us for a while."
