| Chapter Twelve

My head started to pound, as memories that weren't mine came in flashbacks. I feel like I'm watching someone else's past. It's wracking my brain so painfully, like forcibly extracting data that I don't even remember of having.

Everything was ancient, I don't even know what era I'm in, it's a different dynasty after all. When the memories became one with mine I can finally feel my body. I slowly opened my eyes. The warmth of the silk sheets feels expensive and nice against my skin.

'So comfortable...' I thought to myself

But the memories was of a sixteen year old princess, 2nd Princess Qin Ruoyun of the Qin Empire. So technically I became the princess who was in the middle of a journey towards the South. A princess who was never noticed in the palace and was never given importance. She who lacks the skill in arts, doesn't topnotch in school and doesn't have the talent in combat. A weak girl who hides in the walls of her chamber. And she who's been played and bullied by everyone.

Everything that happened last night was because of bad luck, no one perceived that the ocean will be very dangerous that it'll drown the passengers and that a thunderstorm was coming. How pitiful was I to inherit this body of a good for nothing. I sighed...

The room I was in is indeed luxurious. Being the 2nd Princess of the dynasty ain't that bad either. My biological mother the Empress was favoured by the Emperor and was untouchable because she holds half of the power in court, as well as she is of noble blood from birth, precisely a daughter of an Emperor from another country. But she has been sick for too long.

My father the Emperor however was the eldest son of the former Emperor, who was also the former crown prince and the rightful heir to the throne. But he was a vicious man. He disregarded the his Empress and seek pleasure from his concubines.
