Chapter 45- Achlys' Trial Part 2

A few minutes after he started the obstacle course and Achlys already wanted to give up. The trial includes fighting magical beasts, walking inside an ice palace, and running through a magma floor. Every obstacle is an undead's weakness and Achlys was no exception. His skin was frozen, his face was filled with burns but he still need to go through one last obstacle. He has to fight a shaman with light attributes.

(Note: Shamans are monsters that can cast 3rd tier spells. They are also granted intelligence and some even speak human language.)

The shaman was fully prepared to take him on but as for Achlys, he could only use a sword and light magic does a lot of damage to him.

He first went back to the magma floor and struck his sword to the ground to add fire attribute to it so it gives more damage.

He charged at the shaman but it instantly casted [Great Light] a 1st tier light spell used for blinding enemies using a powerful light. When the light faded, Achlys saw the shaman in front of him about to cast a 3rd tier spell.

He tried to stop it but it jumped and casted [Light Ray]. Powerful rays of light burned him and made holes in his body. If it was an ordinary undead, it would've been dead by now but his body is a hundred times stronger than that. He swung his sword and threw it midair until it knocked away the shaman's staff. He planned to end the fight in hand to hand combat. As he was about to charge, the shaman pulled a knife from it's back and charged at him. Achlys on the other hand, was fast so he could easily dodge the knife but since a shaman is a monster, it's strength is above his.

Achlys can't use magic so he could only rely on his own strength. He dashed towards the monster and punched it's head but it didn't even get hurt. Instead, it threw Achlys to the arena walls and tackled him causing him to break a few ribs.

Kazuki felt pity so he canceled the anti-magic barrier. In a few seconds, Achlys felt magic power flowing inside his body causing him to smile. The monster on the other hand, didn't notice that the barrier disappeared and thought that he was being mocked so he beat him more aggressively.

Little did he know that Achlys was using null magic to defend himself from the attacks. It may seem that he's suffering but that was just an act to focus the monster's attention to him so it won't notice that the barrier was gone.

As he was about to give Achlys an uppercut, his fist was enveloped in dark most and disappeared.

"Guaaaaahhh!!!" the monster's scream can be heard outside the arena. The teachers who were spectating were amazed because this is the first time they've seen a supreme mage fight in person.

"What did you do?!" the monster asked angrily.

Achlys remained silent and casted [Devour] again and this time, it was aimed at it's other fist.

"Aaaargggghhg!" the monster screamed in agony but it still won't give up.

It tried to kick Achlys but he immediately cast a 5th tier [Hellfire] whick produced black flame that devoured it's body.

"Aaaaahhhhh! It hurts!" the monster screamed for a few seconds before it died.
