Chapter 21- Battle of Elven Forest Part 3

The Elven gates opened and Kazuki, along with the paladins and holy guards entered. The elves felt like a ray of hope has shone upon them answering their prayer. Excitedly, Gimel along with Gamel and the ministers went outside to greet them.

" Welcome paladins whom the great Griffin summoned!" Gimel said while extending his arms. The ministers also bowed down, except for Gamel.

Everyone was alarmed when the paladins suddenly aimed their swords towards Gimel and the ministers, as well as the palace guards. Gimel felt chills and trembled. He felt murderous intent coming from the paladins. " What did we do wrong?" he asked not knowing the answer.

Gamel on the other hand, walked forward and bowed in front of Kazuki. " I welcome the future king of Order to the Elven forest." she said while still bowing her head. The ministers and Gimel were dumbfounded. They thought the one leading the army was just a general. Little did they know that they were facing the hero. Before the greetings ended, they heard a large explosion coming from the city walls and a messenger arrived from that direction.

He was filled with sweat and was breathing deeply,but managed to recover after a few seconds. " Sir! Crux already started the attack." he shouted as loud as he can in order to infirm everyone. Gimel's face remained calm. He was confident because reinforcements have already arrived and Crux doesn't stand a chance.

A few moments later, they heard a giant crash that sounds like stone crashing to the ground. That's when they realized that the walls have fallen. Griffin, along with Kazuki, Gamel, the paladins and the holy guards went to the center of town to join the battle. The scene was filled with blood and corpses. Kazuki almost threw up after seeing the battlefield. He was okay in dealing with monsters because he treats them like animals, but now he has to kill real humans. " Master, I know this is your first time in the battlefield and your scared but, we need to kill in order to protect." Pegasus tried to calm Kazuki down but it doesn't seem to work. That's when he was left no choice but to use last resort. He transformed into an orb that entered Kazuki's body. " This is my skill [Lion's Heart] it will help you overcome any fear you have in your heart and gives you courage in everything you do."

(Note: Pegasus was talking to Kazuki through his mind because he's already inside him.)

Kazuki did not respond to Pegasus' words instead, he jumped towards the enemies and joined the battle. The moment he took out Order, the paladins also charged to the front line to join the fight. The scene of Kazuki leading the paladins to battle was like that of the divine army punishing humanity. It was a sight to behold.

The battle went on for hours until, Brim decided to show up. He was like a killing machine, both fast and strong. The only ones who can withstand his attacks were the paladins, so he decided to kill the holy guards and invisible archers instead. Kazuki on the other hand, was like a sword saint dancing with swords. His movements were flawless and his dodging skill were off the roof. The [Lion's heart] Pegasus gave him caused this sudden change.

It was night and the soldiers from both sides retreated back to their camps. The soldiers were tired from the previous battle and not having rest might decrease their morale so both sides decided to retreat. The knights of Crux returned to their camps outside while the paladins, holy guards and invisible archers returned to the Elven castle.

While the soldiers were resting, war like noises can be heard outside the walls. A guard entered Gimel's tent and shouted " Enemy reinforcements from the Dark territory has arrived! They will attack in an hour."

The surrounding soldiers panicked and began to cause a big commotion. Kazuki also went out of his tent but unlike others, the prepared his weapons and told the paladins to stay on guard.

While all of these were taking place, Gamel went off to kill Brim with her own hands.
