Chapter 36: Out of the Mansion

"What's wrong with him?" Cu Chulainn's wondered aloud as Theriault flashed to and from different Leviathan, slashing at them with his scythe, wounding each and everyone as they encircled him.

"It's fascinating… As you well know, for mortals Leviathan's aren't easy to beat… He truly is something else."

Theriault waved his scythe to the side, hacking one head of a Leviathan clean off and bursting forward, ripping through its tough flesh with force alone and appearing on the other side with blue blood and entrails covering him.

A Leviathan rushed him from behind. This proved a fatal mistake as Theriault turned and forced Gae Bolg into its eyesocket, whispering something in some foreign language.

The Leviathan turned to dust immediately, its particles floating down as Theriault moved on to the next biggest creature.

He swung his scythe into a few, carving their insides out until it exploded and there was blood splattered against his face, his pale eyes a deep contract to the deep blue liquid.

Theriault turned, swinging his scythe in a wide arc and stabbing with the divine spear, Killing the next Leviathan quickly and moving on to the next.

His eyes turned more grey than white from the glow shining out of them. A new Leviathan flew up behind him, charging for the boy's flesh, hoping to get just one bite. In the next second It was only half its body. One side of the snake-like neck was severed and half of its body had been severed at the midsection area, yet it pushed itself onwards, snapping its jaws down just as Theriault raised his hand.

"Decay," He murmured dreamily, the monster's body instantly rotting and aging until it was nothing but a pile of clumpy dead flesh.

Theriault's eyes, the very center of the human soul, were burning brighter and brighter each second that passed. He turned to the small army of Leviathans.

There had to be nearly a hundred of the monsters, all varying in size.

"I've never even heard of one being killed..." Cu Chulainn said, his voice faltering slightly as he looked at his hands. 'Can I even do that?' He thought, a feeling of inferiority washing over him. 'No way... I'd need more training... A whole 10 more lifetimes to do the same... No wonder he rests so easily, not caring about anything...He's so special he doesn't even need to train! And all because of the power of that key!'

Cu Chulainn held his own key in his hand, the warrior's key, he'd never pushed it to its limit, but he was sure it wouldn't allow him to pull off what Theriault had done. 'I...' He thought as he saw the key floating around Theriault's neck, a small black obsidian-looking thing with a skull at the end, 'Need that...'

Theriault continued engaging The Leviathans in combat, but he was noticeably slowing down, steam rising from his body and his movements becoming more and more sluggish as time went on.

"Decay, Perish, Mori," Theriault muttered with each strike, sending waves of energy radiating off his body. The light in his eyes was dulling down though, and his lost consciousness was beginning to return in bits, as if he was traversing through fog.

'Damn it...' He thought as he felt his body begin shutting down.

"It's been a while since you used so much power little Theriault..." The Skeleton said as Theriault's vision blurred, causing him to get smacked down into the solid air by a Leviathan's tail.

"Yeah clearly," Theriault said, gritting his teeth as he forced himself up, holding both the scythe and Gae blog in his left and right hand.

The skeleton chuckled again. "You look like shit kid.."

"Thanks!" Theriault replied sarcastically.

The Leviathan laughed loudly enough to shake Theriault's mind, blurring his vision more. "How pathetic you must have looked back then too..."

Theriault didn't answer, breathing in and out slowly, calming his heart.

"You could always do it again... You know," The Skeleton started, floating in front of Theriault, trailing its bony finger on the scythe's blade. "Die..." It finished as Theriault dodged an attack from one of the Leviathans, stabbing Gae Bolg in its eye and slicing one of the heads off with the scythe, dispatching the other head just as quickly.

"Hey, if you don't have any encouraging things to say... Buzz off you ugly bastard," Theriault replied to The Skeleton's suggestion, jumping up and dodging another Leviathan, falling down and slicing both heads with a swift slice.

"Fuck…" Theriault stumbled and dropped to one knee.

"Hehe…" The Skeleton laughed in his mind, causing his vision to blur even more as he looked at the small army of Leviathans.

"Didn't I tell you? I won't die," Theriault said with a smile as he stood up once again, his vision still blurry as he breathed in deeply.

"Krawwwwww!" The Leviathan's roared in unison, all of them charging him from around.

"Gae…" A voice said behind Theriault as he felt someone grab the spear from him.

"BOLG!" Cu Chulainn yelled, the spear emitting a shiny gold light that shot off the tip, hitting into one of The Leviathan's sending it crashing to the ground as its flesh burned, though it didn't die.

"You… Are incredible, it'd be a shame to die over my mistake, I would never have thought this was part of some plan, so for that… I'll go ahead and take care of you boy…" Cu Chulainn, No, Satenta said as he stood there, his key in hand as he held it out, a wooden door appeared in front of him with gold letters floating magically on it.

"Give me the courage to battle these enemies, I am the might of my blade, the Wit behind my pen, the strength behind my body, In my soul, Mind, and Heart, I give up my body…"

As he finished the chant he slammed the key into the keyhole, turning it just as The Leviathan's enclosed around them, hungry mouths opening wide.

A golden light blinded Theriault completely, he couldn't see a thing, but a certain smell made him smile.

Blood, and not humankind.

Cu Chulainn stood there, Gaebolg in hand, moving faster than light, back and forth between the monsters, stabbing and whacking them as he turned faster than their eyes could follow.

"Ah, so this is that infamous ability?" Theriault asked as he bowed his head slightly, "The power of The Warrior Key…"

Cu Chulainn flashed all around Theriault, moving faster than light as he stabbed and whacked.

The Warrior Key is a key that used a sacrifice-based system to make you as strong as your opponents. At this point in time, Cu Chulainn became the first of the hero generation to ever slay a Leviathan.

His sacrifice? That was between him and The Warrior Key.

Theriault felt his body shut down and he plopped onto the solid air, passed out with a small smile on his face, a true sign of faith in Cu Chulainn…

"Freeze," The man who'd been hosting the event said, smiling as all the Leviathan froze mid attack.

Cu Chulainn looked at him in shock. "Why'd you-"

"You both passed, how funny... My friend says no need for the trial anymore, not only did the boy pass, but you passed your trial as well... You had started to become quite selfish and bitter... It's good to see there is still heart within you... My friend says you guys can see him now and challenge him, would you like me to teleport you two there?"

Cu Chulainn, his heart racing with excitement, had nearly said yes. Though, as he looked at Theriault's near lifeless form lying still, he sighed, shaking his head. "Not now... unfortunately," He said, earning an even wider smile from the man.

"You understand this will not be available again right? Next time you return you will have to complete the rest of the rooms..."

Cu Chulainn sighed again. "Yes, I'm sure... We need to leave," With those words, the man snapped his fingers, Theriault's and Cu Chulainn disappearing from the realm.

"Hah, what a good choice, since I was going to kill you two right now... Guess you guys will have to wait to get a chance at me once more..." Lucifer, the devil of the Seven Deadly Sins, one of the major dukes of hell said, smiling as he waved his hand and turned the sky room into a throne room, sitting on his chair and yawning.

"Until next time young Theriault..."

...

When Theriault came too it was with Shen Yi right in his face, inspecting him with mild concern. Seeing him open his eyes though she immediately began with the insults.

"I thought you were strong," Was all she was able to say before Theriault raised his hand. "Please, brush your teeth, just because we've been living off the land doesn't excuse you from proper hygiene..."

Shen Yi was about to say something before Cu Chulainn spoke up. "Good, you're awake... I'd thought you were a goner for sure," He said, smiling a bit as he eyed the chain on Theriault's neck, his eyes locking on it for only a second before he looked away.

"I know you must be tired so-"

"Nah, I'm fine, we should get going to that Isle of The Skye now..." Theriault said, hopping out of the comfortable bed quickly.

Shen Yi covered her eyes, blushing ever so slightly as Cu Chulainn coughed, and Hunter laughed in the corner.

It was only Uathach, unfazed as she'd seen him in the nude hundreds of times that finally let him know they'd taken his clothes off to check for any wounds and apply healing ointments...

Two hours later Theriault, Shen Yi, and Hunter were out the door, saying goodbye to Cu Chulainn and Uathach.

Theriault looked at Uathach for a second, remembering what she'd told him about her mother.

'I guess we'll just see how this goes... How mad would a mother be if her daughter and husband tried to murder her? I wonder...' With that, the trio set off for their job, though the payment was unofficial, it's not like they had anything else to worry about while in Dublin anyway, this was basically a vacation city, they'd yet to explore this larger vibrant city, sticking to the smaller less active parts...

...

"Ahh... Fresh Irish air, I smell leprechauns, goblins, giants... And Keymasters," Cloud said as he and his crew watched the cars whizz by in the grand city of Dublin. They weren't here for sightseeing though. Cloud breathed in, flashing his razor-sharp teeth as he smiled. "The Queen wants to have a word, Theriault..."
