chapter 4: Habits Die Hard If You Let It

"Get up Ken" ,Shouted Rumi, You don't want to be late on your first of your new school. He's always late, why can't he learn some sense of responsibility. Rumi shook her head and made a beline to his room. She was expecting a tornado of clothes and trash on the floor, but the room was sparkling, the bed was neatly made and squared with 4 corners. This was unlike Ken'ichiro, she must be still dreaming or stuck in some kind of parallel universe. There was no speck to be found, everything was in it's place expect for Ken. Rumi frowned when she noticed a note on the bed, did he decide to run away or worse to commit suicide? Rumi hands started to tremble as she walked closer to the note. Rumi tired to control her breathing but the very thought of her only son leaving or dying was her worst fear. She had to bury her husband and sister on the same day, one was murdered and the other committed suicide, how can she handle this. Ken'ichiro caused her trouble and Definitely was a handful to deal with at times but there was nothing she wouldn't give up for him to be with her forever. Rumi took the note and began to read through weeping eyes, it read:

"Early to bed and early to rise makes a man young, healthy, wealthy and wise". You just wait mother I will pay you back for all the suffering I put you through. I hope this small change will convince you about how serious I am to accomplish this goal.

Rumi slumped to the floor smiling and crying. He finally told her the words she always wanted to hear "I Love You". There was no love to be found in the household, nothing but anger, resentment and guilt. The shouting matches would last from dusk to dawn. Rumi wanted to frame this moment forever she decided that's exactly what she was going to do. Rumi went downstairs to fetch her coat, there was gonna be a feast tonight to commemorate this special occasion. Rumi went to open the front door when she suddenly bumped into a man in an army uniform with a scar on his left eye.
