"SEND IN THE HEALERS!"
Wizard 1 yelled while the other inserted his hand into the stab wound of Isaac. He spread his own mana into him to counter the spread of the cursed mana. A healer ran in, who was wearing white and light-green clothing, which contrasted that of the wizards, who wore black and purple.
The healer then started a prayer over the boy while rubbing his hands together. He then slammed them on Isaac's body, making him jolt. He did this a couple more times, keeping Isaac's body warm while everybody stood around and watched.
"It's already spread way too much. The best we can do is lessen the pain and slow it down. For full healing, we need the help of the Fafnir." Wizard 1 Spoke to his king who was standing by.
"We need to move him." Wizard 2 pointed to the guards. "Work with the healer and take him to the tower!"
The guards were swift with their movements as they picked him up, one by his feet and the other by his head, while the healer ran in the middle. Wizard 2 put on his hood and disappeared out of the room.
The king, wizard 1, Nero, and Inedia were the only ones left in the room. The king was stressed out as he thought about his choices.
'If the earthling dies, it will cause unrest within the people, for he was a contribution to the kingdom by his summoners. If a king can't even keep a couple of earthlings from fighting and KILLING each other within his own palace, then what does that make him?' He bit off his thumbnail. 'Sollertia will not be happy about this at all.'
"What shall I do, my king?" The wizard asked.
He looked like a normal person with facial hair that was brown and a long face with big round eyes. The other seemed younger than him and bared a cut on the left side of his face. They both had wrinkles all over their eyes, and the youngers face was full of freckles.
"Focus on helping him gain conscience. I shall make contact with the Fafnir chief, and we will send the earthling himself when he wakes up. As for the other, I will talk to him myself." The king gave his order.
"Yes, my king!" The wizard bowed before putting on his cloak and disappearing as well.
All the chefs started pouring into the room with the huge plates of food. Some were so big they had to be carried by multiple chefs and were carefully placed on the table. One chef was curios of the earthlings and looked in their direction only to see a huge spot of blood next to the king.
He freaked out a little and jogged out of the room.
"You two shall continue with your regular schedules after the feast. Do you understand?" The king turned to Inedia and Nero and ordered.
"Yes, sir." They both spoke.
He then took a sigh of relief and made a gesture with his arm that pointed towards the huge table.
"Shall we feast, then?"
That was the last time Inedia, Nero, Isaac, and Debillis would all see each other. Their first meeting had a bloody ending, with one in jail and the other on the brink of death. Even without knowing each other that well, they all acknowledged that they were closest to each other in this world than anybody else, and one day, they would meet again in a maybe an even bloodier mess.
--------------------
A big man stomped through the halls of his huge castle. It had now entered night, and the earthlings had been escorted to do their job as the king returned to his chambers on the south wing of the castle. He had a sullen face and looked very stressed.
'I just need a nice nap,' he sighed. 'I'll figure this all out later.'
Once he opened the door to his room, he was immediately jumped on, getting startled. He looked down to see a young blonde-haired boy with brown eyes who had a freckled face. He looked up at his dad with a smiling face.
"Dad! I missed you!"
The king picked him up as he tickled his body.
"Same here."
"Welcome, Aaron." A feminine but strict voice greeted him.
Aaron flinched at the voice and looked up to face his wife with a nervous smile.
"My queen..."
She walked over and grabbed the young boy from his arms before putting him down outside the room.
"Go now. Visit your sister or whatever. I have to talk to your father." Sollertia spoke as she dragged Aaron back into the room.
He looked at his son with begging eyes before the door was slammed shut. Sollertia locked it and turned to face her husband.
"What was the commotion?" She asked.
"One of the wizar-"
"Don't lie to me." she cut him off before he could even get anywhere.
Aaron put his finger - that he raised for his lie down and sat on the edge of the bed.
"There was a bit of setback with the earthlings. One of them somehow came in with a cursed weapon and stabbed another."
"How could you let that happen? Don't you understand the whole continent is watching these trials and how they are handled? If only I was there, I would've - "
"I know, I know. You would have handled it better. There is no doubt of that."
Sollertia walked over and sat by him. She grabbed his hand and put it on her lap.
"I'm sorry. We promised not to turn out like the rest and now look at us."
"This crown should've been yours. I only got it, thanks to my luck at birth."
They both shared a moment of silence.
"So, what are you going to do now?" Sollertia asked.
"I will have to speak to the chief of Fafnir. Their help will be needed if we want to keep the earthling alive. Unfortunately, I dont think they have any interest in helping us."
"Well, the war did have its toll on their people. They fought for the kingdom, and in the process, it almost wiped their tribe." She gives her husband's hand a squeeze. "Want me to talk to her for you? I feel I might be a bit more welco-"
"NO!" He slightly raised his voice before calming down. "I mean... I'll do it. I'm the king."
Sollertia sighs before getting up from her spot and going towards the door. She looked back before exiting.
"Get some rest. You'll need it for this mess you brought upon yourself." She harshly spoke before walking out.
In a room further away, their son hesitated to knock on the door of a locked room.
*Knock, knock!*
"Regina! Open the door!"
"WHAT do you WANT Sicho?" Regina asked cruelly from inside.
"I just want to play!" Sicho answered.
Regina opened the door and came right to his face. She was older and just a bit taller than him. She was blonde but, unlike him, blue-eyed. Her room looked incredibly messy behind her. It was filled with books, chess boards, and huge maps with connecting strings.
"Of course you want to play! That's all you want to do!" She spat in his face. "Do NOT come disturbing my studies with worthless activities."
She closed the door in his face, but before it was completely locked, Sicho heard her mumble something.
"But I guess worthlessness is all you know."
*SLAM!*
