The Purist Society and The Meow

The numbers of events were a lot. But the actual show was over within a minute. Of course, the preparation was quite a bit.

As soon as she noticed the presence of other hunters, Alex did multiple things.

First she tore away the sleeve of her left hand and planted a quick bandage on it. Afterward she smeared some dye around it. All in all there was a bandage on her left hand while the skin around it turned greenish grey, a sign of poisoning.

A Unicorn Alpha was one with a straight right antler, while the left one was missing naturally. These animals were weaker at birth and therefore have to struggle a lot to survive. A full grown Unicorn Alpha was therefore much more dangerous than a normal one.

The antler was its pride and a very deadly weapon. In order to overcome the shortcoming of its lack of other horn, the deer always kept the horn sharp by polishing it in stones. Not to mention, nature always had a way to compensate, due to constant polishing, the upper layer of the horn was slightly loose and while penetrating, a part of horn dust get mixed in the blood, causing a muscle poisoning which while nonlethal, was very painful.

Shooting toward any deer Alpha was a big taboo, shooting toward a Unicorn Alpha was even more so. However shooting and breaking the horn, even the most daredevil hunters won't do that. Cause that would mean the Alpha would send the whole herd to kill the perpetuator, after all while the first two was a threat, the last one was a blatant, naked challenge to the Alpha.

Therefore, her story, the horn (Although it was just a normal horn from a normal deer, Alex polished it personally in case she got a chance to screw someone with it) and her wound were quite believable. However there was still the chance that the hunters would have killed her without a warning and therefore came the "Client" and "rescue".

A "Princess" was a common slang among the hunters, it meant "Rich Noble Heirs", how the phase came up, Alex had no idea, but these guys were all rich and from very influential background, so even if they died in the most wretched jungles, the local administration would try their best to recover their bodies. As for the companion hunter, while they would face severe punishment for their incompatibility once they returned to the city, if they ran, they would soon beg for death.

All of these factors were to prevent the hunters to attack her on sight. Then there was a high chance that they would try to score some brownie points with the client family, and thereby help her a little and let her came closer. In order to let their guard down and show her own confidence, she even dropped her rifle. Rest, well as they said "rest was history".

Of course, all of these were just to fool the hunters, Alex initially didn't planned to kill them but rather leave while getting some "supplies" from the "Good Samaritans", but once she noticed the nameless, she decided for the kill.

In the jungle, the survival was mostly decided by who noticed whom first, and that's what let Alex survive this time. Although the team of five was pretending to be a normal hunter team in jungle with equal amount of vigilance and caution towards the outsiders, the sniper was pointed and cocked his gun towards the jungle, more so towards her which means they had already noticed that someone was coming and their first reaction was to point a sniper rifle, which could easily went through the foliage and turn that someone into minced met. Therefore she yelled rescue right before they got a sure shot. Afterwards, came the Medic, somehow he decided to gave her an auto inject, if it was something else then maybe Alex would let them pass but an Auto-inject in the deep forest for a non-lethal wound. There was a saying that "too much reverence is the mark of a cheat". In other way the medic just let Alex made her decision faster.

Of course everything settled once she noticed the Medic or rather his left hand.

There was a tattoo on his left arm. While the tattoo was not important what important was a "W" mark, hidden carefully within the tattoo.

The mark of Purist Society(PS).

When there were human, there was all kind of garbages of society. The Purist Society was one of that garbage. They were a cult who believe in supremacy of their blood and thought all other humans as inferior beings.

There were many of such type of lunatics, but the PS's were with their own class. Their most outstanding feature was cannibalism, not to mention in their eye, women were only for men's pleasure. Of course, even that women were needed to be of pure blood (Alex really have no idea about the criteria of having pure blood). Otherwise, they were only good for serving as their livestock.

The PS cult had been active over decades, and they had taken credit of many actions. Many of their bases were raided by Federation, many of their members were killed. There were actually a good reward if anyone killed one of PS. However, like a locust, they were never eliminated. Not to mention they were always in charge of all kind of heinous crimes. There was a saying that once an army squad raided one of PS's base, after entering the base, even the seasoned veterans throw up their lunch.

Therefore as soon as Alex noticed the 'W', the death warrant was signed.

Anyway, Alex re positioned herself on the tree and tossed a small box towards a bush around 20 meters away.

Hidden inside was a Captain class shadow cat, although it had been named as a cat, the thing was as big as a Cheetah and very dangerous. A major assassin's of jungle. As the PS was focusing on killing her, that cat was also focusing on killing them. Except Alex won and now it was the cat's turn.

'Boom'

The box blasted right above the bush and showering it with small needles, the shadow cat was a speed type creature and therefore it was difficult to hit it with bullet but a needle shower was different. Although it wouldn't kill it, it would scare and weaken it so it wouldn't be able to attack her anytime soon.

"Meaow"

With a very angry meow, the cat departed. Alex also came down, and after a quick checking of anything valuable from the PS guys, she also left towards the city. While the hunt produced remarkable result, she wasn't at all happy with it.

Th problem with PS was that they were always planning something to screw people over. Usually they didn't made much activity near cities. However since she found them in the jungle, there was a high probability that the PS was planning something big.

"Damn, there goes my plan."

Alex figured that she had to bolt. Staying in a city where PS had movement was not good for health. Which meant that her plan with the lube had to put in hold. Well that's not exactly a problem, after all there was a saying "Fools are everywhere", she just had to find a new target.

Letter on the evening, Alex left the city in another freight train. She was moving towards a group B city called Echo, near capital. Even if PS had some plan, cities near capital would be safer.

Three days letter, Amanda Russo of admin department received a package. Inside there was five scrapped of skin with purist Society tattoo in it. The sender also packed photo and ID of five PS member and reported there presence in nearby jungle. Amanda didn't took it as a joke cause reputation of PS was quite notorious. So she reported her superior and within an hour an investigation was launched.

Thanks to these the Dawn city ( A group C city near Group A city New York) managed to avoid a massive attack from the PS group. Many of their members were captured and killed. Most of these members were quite surprised because they didn't understand how their cover get blown or what ticked the Federation off. The government also tried to look for the person who sent the package but gave up because there was no trail. There remained a mystery regarding this case as nobody ever came forward to claim the rewards announced by Federation. The PS society and Federation both suspected that may be there was a vigilante or a mole in PS, who had warned them. The PS group also moved through their ranks to find out the insider in them. All in all, these events quite shaken up both PS and Federation.

If only they had known that all of it happened because five of PS member accidentally met a lone hunter in the jungle and decided to kill her.
