Chapter 08: "Family"

After an exhausting day at visiting Laila's house. Jester finally managed to sleep well. And finds himself in a good mood. The memories of him visiting her in her house was a happy memory for him. He felt his a part of her life now. 

"This is just the beginning... I can't wait for the morning to come to meet you again...But for now goodnight Laila.." (He said to himself)

The next morning. Jester waked up early in the morning. He have such a good mood to day. When he went outside his room he was greeted by Mr. Joe.

"Good morning young man... I came here to wake you up but it seems you are already awake... Come let's have breakfast..."

Then he was surprised by a well made meal. In the table there are heart whelming meal that was served. There are pancakes with syrup and melting butter, a couple of egg that was cook like the sun. This way of cooking is called sunny side up. And a fresh squeeze orange juice.

While they eat Mr. Joe speak to him.

"It seems like you are having a good mood today... Did something happen to you while you are walking in?"

"Yes... Indeed... For I've already found the girl that I was searching for... And yesterday I visited her in her house... I was so happy..."

"I see... I'm happy for you... Will you see her again today?"

"Yes I think I have to..."

"Then I hope that this day as well will be on your side... For I only want good things to come to you young man..."

Then while they eat their breakfast. Jester suddenly remembered the thing he was curious about.The thing they called cellphone. He ask Mr. Joe about it. And Mr. Joe answered his questions. The he gave jester a mobile phone to use. He taught him how to use it and how yo operate it. With this in his hand he can have access to the world. He can have knowledge about this world.

Then after that. He went to Laila's house.

At Laila's House

"Good morning ma'am is Laila here?"

"I'm sorry but she's not home now. She's at work today... Since it's Tuesday today…"

"I see… To be able to go to work he must have fully regained her strength... I hope she didn't overwork her body…"

"I'm sure that Laila knows the limits of her body… Laila can take care of herself so don't worry…"

"I see…"

Jester was still worried about her welfare. He wants to go to where she works and make sure that she's fine. He wants to ask her mother where she works. But he didn't want to be a nuisance to her so he didn't ask for it. But Laila's mother has a hint that he wants to know her whereabouts...

"Here… Take this Laila forgot her packed launch... She carefully prepared this beforehand... She was expecting this... Can you drop by and bring this to her? If it doesn't bother you… of course…"

"Of course not ma'am…"

" Then it's settled… Here, that's where she works…"

"Thank you ma'am…"

"For what? I'm the one who should be thanking you, right? I'm the one asking you a favor, didn't I?"

"Right… Then I'll take my leave… Goodbye…"

"Take care…"

For a moment he felt something odd. So new and refreshing. Was I the only one thinking about this? Am I beginning to be a part of one. A family that I have never once have…

At the street

"So where is it? Is it this way or that way? I better ask for help? Looks like I'm lost…" As he asks for directions. He managed to go to the said place. "Finally, found you…"

"But how can I bring this to laila…"

Then someone greeted him. It was one of the staff in that said place.

"Hi! How can I help you?"

Jester slowly turned and so a lady stand in front of him.

"I'm sorry did I disturb you?"

"No you didn't..."

" I see... By the way my name is Gabi..."

"It's nice to meet you Gabi… But may I ask you... Perhaps you know a lady whose name is Laila?"

"Yes… I know her? Why did you ask? Did you need something from her?"

"I just wanna give her this… She left it at her house so I dropped by and brought it to her... I'm really glad to finally found someone who I can trust this with… Can you bring this to her?"

"Sure… No problem... But may I ask are you perhaps Laila's boyfriend?"

"Boyfriend?"

He doesn't know how to respond. But since Laila and him got much closer. He thinks they are friends already. Even though they only seen each other for only a day now.

"Yes... I'm her boyfriend…Please take care of her... I will leave Laila it in your care..."

"I'll definitely bring this to her… And tell her that his boyfriend dropped by to give this to her…"

"Thank you… Then I must take my leave…"

"Yes take care… (What a handsome looking guy. Laila was lucky to have him.)"

As Jester walks away from the building. He thought about that word.

"Boyfriend... Did it mean a male friend? It was new to me... I hope I didn't create a misunderstanding... But are we friends? Will Laila get mad at me that I said that... But… I want more than friends… I want her to be my family…"
