Chapter 4: The opportunity

After the performance that night, Connor returned home and continued writing his book, and so days passed. When the weekend came, he invited Meg to the bar to show his performance to her. After coming to the bar, when Alan performed, Meg was really surprised, and her eyes widened as she watched him sing, as he looked like a different person to her.

Today, Ellie was a little depressed because she saw that Connor came with a woman, whom she thought was probably his girlfriend, and kept frowning.

After Connor finished his performance, he came to Meg, who was already a little drunk, so he could only take care of her. After returning home, When he led Meg to her room, she hugged him. Connor was a little tempted, but recalling the promise he made to his mother, he resisted the temptation, but Meg refused to let him go. After all, although Alan was psychologically mature, his body was still that of a 16-year-old boy full of hormones, so he could only obey his instincts and let himself enjoy the 25-year-old lonely Meg Ryan.

When sunlight shone in the room, Meg Ryan opened her eyes with a little migraine, recalling what happened yesterday. She let out a little complicated smile during this time, after she participated in the popular film Top Gun, but she still is not popular enough. She just needs a little opportunity to prove herself, but it is easier to say than done because how many people lack such an opportunity in Hollywood?

Thinking of the past month of living with Connor, seeing him without any bad habits and even being a little artistic and elegant, she decided maybe it's time to be in a relationship.

After Connor opened his eyes, he saw Meg was looking at him. He reorganized his thoughts, thinking about the promise he made to his mother, so he decided to clarify his thoughts and asked, "So, what are we?"

Meg smiled and then replied, "A couple, if you don't mind."

Connor was relieved, to be honest, because he really doesn't want to be in a messy relationship like a one-night stand. At the same time, he thinks that if he doesn't have a girlfriend with whom to pass time, then his full of hormones body would really be seduced by those Hollywood girls, so he replied, "Are you sure about this? I took my relationship very seriously. I will not tolerate my girlfriend messing around outside, and that would restrict your freedom."

Hearing the answer from Connor, she paused for a while before saying, "Okay, let's start by dating."

The next day, when Connor was going to the restaurant to a coffee shop, he saw Nora Ephron with a script in her hand and then recalled that there's a saying in Hollywood although it's a little exaggerated, but there's a little truth about it. Then he goes to her table, and after Nora raised her head, he said, " Sorry to bother, but if you are alone, can I sit?"

Nora, who was looking at the script and thinking about the scenario, couldn't help but recall that during this time, in order to perfect this script, she kept asking some producer about some question and idea, but it still was not up to her standard. Then she saw a shadow in her script, raising her head, and she saw a man asking her if he could sit. After looking at him and seeing that he seemed attracted by the script, she couldn't help but chuckle at another guy obsessed with Hollywood, but nonetheless, at least he's honest, so she said, "Okay." 

In fact, Connor deliberately showed that he was just interested in the script because those old bones of Hollywood are all fritters; you can't deceive them. After sitting for a while, seeing that she had no intention to speak to him, he said, "Can I take a little look at your script?."

She was surprised because she knew that he was interested in the script, but she didn't expect him to be so direct:"Are you not afraid of me refusing if you are asking like this?" Said Nora

Connor was really not afraid because he knew that she was a comedy scenario producer and she would not be angry for something like this. He replied, "In Hollywood, if you want to become a good actor, the first thing to do is to always look for opportunities because you don't know; if it passes past you and you don't catch it, then you will never catch it."

Nora was surprised by what the young man passed through to be able to understand this truth; she didn't ask but gave him the script as it was already registered in the screenwriter union. He was surprised because it really is the incomplete script of when Harry met Sally after reading for about 15 minutes.

He said, " A good story, although incomplete. I think some places could be improved."

She was a little lost because, although some places need improvement and not everyone can see them, she made a gesture to continue with her arms.

Then, with the plot in his mind, he gave her his idea, and they discussed it for about two hours before Nora replied, "Are you sure you are an actor and not a director or producer?"

Connor replied, "Although I have the idea, I don't know how to film or produce them, but I know how to act."

He added, " I just need an opportunity because I just came to Hollywood and have not participated in any film because I have a blank folder, so they don't give me that chance."

She then replied, " Give me your numbers; I will give you the chance for the audition; as for whether you can do it or not, it depends on you." 

After giving her his number, they parted ways, and Connor was really surprised because he planned on spending at least two to three years just to build his connection in Hollywood, but now the opportunity is just in front of him.
