The Trial of Day One

Meng Tian was sleeping in his bed when the morning sun was peeking through the window of his room. He was having the most peaceful sleep that he had ever had in his entire life. This was because he had grown strong enough to keep himself safe in a largely unfamiliar world.

It was a pleasant Sunday that marked the beginning of a new adventure for him. Last night after he completed leveling up his cultivation, he decided to rest for sometime. To his surprise, the moment he closed his eyes on his bed, he fell into a very deep sleep almost immediately.

Although he had seemed to be in control of his himself all this time, he was mostly in a very stressed out state- thinking about how his incursion into this world was unintentional, inconceivable and in particular very dangerous.

However, his continuous acquisition of power completely in his control, and the confidence to steer his own fate in this world made this experience much better. Meng Tian was in a very relaxed state leading to a deep slumber. Hua Baihe came into his room to wake up her son to get him ready for the training camp.

Meng Tian woke up almost instantly after hearing his mother coming up the stairs. He usually slept in on a Sunday, and waking up just like on a usual school day did feel weird. When Hua Baihe opened his door and saw her son already awake and sitting on the bed, she smiled a little, "Good that you are awake. Get ready and come downstairs. Have you packed the things needed for the camp?"

"Morning... Mom, I bought all the stuff yesterday. I just need to pack some clothes and that's it."

His mother then went downstairs and finished preparing breakfast. Meanwhile, Meng Tian took a nice bath, put on some clothes, and packed a small duffel bag for the camp. From the email yesterday night, he knew that he had to prepare items to survive in the wild. However, he did not have to get any as this camp would not even make him sweat with his power levels.

Meng Tian is a true over powered being for his age in this world, even if no one knew about it. However, he still put some ropes, knives, and clothes into his small duffel bag and that was it. He would be provided with weapons once he reached the training camp, but any other details were yet to be known.

He had bought quite a lot of things yesterday that he felt might be useful for him during the camp and stored them inside his consciousness space. He was ready to leave now. As he came downstairs to eat breakfast, he saw his parents were waiting for him. During the breakfast, Meng Tian stuffed himself with all of his favorite food.

His parents did not say much as they knew their son could take care of himself. But they still insisted him to always be careful and never put himself in any danger. They hugged and he left. As he came out of his house, even Fatty Li was waiting there for him, "My brother Xiao Tian, I know you are already very powerful... I won't say much. Take care of yourself out there and I'll see you in two months."

Meng Tian just smiled a little, gave Li Fang a hug and walked towards school. By the time he reached the school gymnasium, a group of people were already present and seemed to be waiting for him. He looked at his watch and knew he was not late. "Damn... these guys are early."

As he entered the gym, Principal Ren, Teacher Tiao, and the other six of his group entering the training camp with him were the only ones present. He came near them and bowed to greet them.

"Good Morning Principal Ren, Teacher Tiao and Seniors... Sorry for being late."

Principal Ren gave him a warm smile, while Teacher Tiao smiled and nodded as well.

"Don't worry about it. Come here and stand in line." As Principal Ren signaled him to join the other six, Wu Liling pulled Meng Tian's hand and made him stand beside her.

"Come here, stand next to me. Big Sister Xunuo was waiting for you all this time. You should not be late on the first date... Oh my, I meant first day... Hehehe"

On the other side of this second year senior, Yu Xunuo was standing along with Lin Caihong. Yu Xunuo's face turned a little red as she heard this, and immediately gave her a deathly stare. Wu Liling was not bothered by it and cutely stuck her tongue out.

Meng Tian was embarrassed by the situation, however he was cool as a cucumber on the outside. He just smiled politely at all of them. The third year senior Zhou Qianfan also gave Meng Tian a warm smile and a nod, while the second year seniors- Chen Shanyuan and Huang Xiaobo just treated everything as nothing happened.

Principal Ren just laughed at the situation, "Haha... Alright now, settle down. I am just here to see you guys off as only Teacher Tiao will be accompanying you to the camp. She is the assigned in charge of our school team and you will follow all of her orders. However, once you enter the camp, things will be a little different. Hmm... I want you to use this experience to temper yourselves well and come back safe."

Just as he finished saying this, Principal Ren waved his hand and left the gym. However only Meng Tian heard something extra in his mind, "Junior Brother Meng, you have to show an outstanding performance as it will help you gain an advantage in the coming years. I have already informed Master regarding this and he hopes for the same. Don't worry about anyone or anything and do as you see fit. However, make sure to keep yourself safe."

Meng Tian did not show any changes in his face as he heard this. Teacher Tiao then asked all the seven students to follow her to a small bus waiting for them outside. And Meng Tian just went straight ahead and sat right in the very corner seat at the end. He put on his head phones and closed his eyes. Nobody could disturb him.

It took them about an hour before they reached a military air base where a military helicopter was waiting for them. It was the first time that Meng Tian had entered a helicopter and he was a little excited, although he himself could fly and that too at much faster speeds. The helicopter then took a few hours to reach a mountainous area with a small clearing for them to land.

Just as the helicopter landed, Teacher Tiao gave each of the seven students rough directions to reach the actual camp area. "You have to reach the camp before 6 PM in the evening. Only those who reach this place are allowed to enter the camp. I will not be accompanying you and will be waiting with the other instructors from the other schools. Good luck."

Before anyone could anything, she swiftly entered the helicopter and left. Meng Tian observed the other six as they were genuinely shocked by the sudden turn of events. However, the team leader, Lin Caihong, immediately took charge.

"This is an unexpected event that had not happened before. Xunuo and myself had been a part of the camp last year as well but there was no such thing. Nonetheless, the mission is clear... Our primary direction is east and we should be able to reach the camp before the sun goes down. Let me be very clear, we are currently deep in some mountainous region which means our chances of encountering mutated beasts is very high. So stay close and follow my commands."
