A Bad Neighborhood

It took us a quarter of an hour to walk from the markets to the port. And it took us a few more minutes to even find the shop of the weaponsmith.

The shop was located in a secluded and run-down part of the large port, away from most of the foot traffic. At first glance; the rotting signs and poles, the cracked and eroded stone street, and the hooded mass of rugged residents painted the location as a place best avoided.

There were also signs of crime in the alleyways and abandoned buildings. Blood stains from days or weeks past were still splattered over walls.

It seemed like the Holy Sky Temple seldom policed this place. But according to the magic that I was detecting, it looked like things turned ugly whenever they tried.

Alas, I had an oath to keep and another dwarf to meet. But now that I've been given a taste of the local area, there was not much confusion left in me as to why the dwarf I was visiting was losing business.
