Transmigration

Aaron only remembered pieces of what had happened. His head hurt and he couldn't concentrate.

It was a bank robbery. He died as a hostage. 'Stupid police. They could've saved me and the other victims, but were too dumb to notice that the criminal was really going to shoot. Not only that. I was also the first one to be killed. Why not one of the other 20 people that were around?' He thought, almost cursing out loud.

A man in black had stormed into the bank with a gun in his hands and demanded the money stored there.

The woman who had worked on that day called the police. Thereafter, the man had told the customers to move into one of the corners.

Sadly Aaron was at the front and thus the first victim falling at the criminal's hands.

Right now, he was hovering above the bank, looking down in confusion. Why was he here, floating through the sky?

He glanced at his body. His irritation only grew when he saw his transparent limps. He could still move, however, he didn't feel anything.

He again turned towards the ground. The city he had been living in for all his life was under him, people, looking like ants from here, moving around, some faster than others.

It seemed like the bank robbery had ended and the police had probably taken care of the criminal. Although they could've been better at their job, Aaron might've even be the only one who died.

As he reminisces about the time he had spent and the effort he had put into living well, he suddenly got sucked upwards.

'I'm eager to find out wether I'll get into heaven or not.' He thought about the afterlife and asked himself what it would be like.

His speed increased at every moment. When he passed the clouds though, his consciousness faded away. He wasn't able to stay awake as a force suppressed his urge to do so.

Aaron slowly opened his heavy eyelids. Blinding light flashed into his eyes. He promptly closed them again and started to repeat this process.

While adapting to the bright light, his brain also began to properly work again. Thoughts ran through his mind, occupying it as much as to almost cause a headache.

Where was he? Perhaps he really was in heaven? Judging from the luminosity, it could at least very well be.

His eyesight got used to the light after only a few moments. Then he realized he wasn't in heaven. Instead, Aaron was in a white room, a lamp hanging down from the ceiling.

A big mirror hung in front of him, covering the whole wall. Besides him were various ominous looking apparatuses.

Confirming he really was alive, he began to search for an explanation for how he got here.

Two possibilities came him to mind. The first is that all was just a dream, although that wouldn't make much sense, since he had felt the pain and everything was just so real.

The second is that he was in a hospital. He could've been rescued in the last second. Maybe the police hadbeen fast enough. Even so, this possibility also wouldn't make sense.

So where was he?

He tried to move, stand up and go out of this room. However, as he tried, he had to realize that he was tied to the bed he was laying on. Handcuffs were placed on his wrists and ankles.

Aaron forcefully tried again, but to no avail.

"Fuck" He cursed out loud.

He calmed down again, convincing himself that everything would be alright.

Before he could do anything else, suddenly the door, that was located at the left, opened. A man revealed himself, his dark hair stood up and he had some kind of goggles on. A white robe made him look like a doctor.

"Oooh, I see I see. You've finally awakened." He sounded as if he was crazy. His voice was high and he accentuated the wrong syllables.

"Where am I?" Aaron asked, his voice hiding his fear.

The doctor smiled brightly and the corners of his mouth reached to his eyes. He then answered: "Ah! Don't speak. Did I... allow you to speak? No, I did not. However, I saw you tried to brake out. That's bad, you know. Therefore I need to give you your medicine."

His tone wasn't angry or anything similar. It was actually the opposite. It sounded as if he cared about Aaron a lot.

Before the latter was able to reply, his body suddenly froze and became stiff. He couldn't move anymore and when he tried to shout at the man in front of him, he realized that he wasn't able to talk.

The doctor sat on a chair besides the bed and grabbed a pair of rubber gloves. He put them on and turned around.

He took a syringe from the storage table. Inside it was a transparent liquid.

The man then turned around again and bowed down a bit. He grabbed Aaron's arm and slowly brought the syringe closer to one of the veins.

As Aaron saw this, he opened his eyes wide. He wanted to resist, but couldn't move.

Anxious groans escaped his closed mouth. Fear overtook him and he wanted to run away. Unfortunately, he couldn't.

"Don't make it hard for the both of us. You know how important your medicine is. If you groan like that, how can I inject it to you? Calm down. You don't want me to use something even worse, do you?" The doctor replied to the moans.

Aaron immediately stopped. If there was something worse, then this medicine was bad. Even though he wanted to resist, he also was afraid of the consequences.

The man took the syringe again and approached the same arm again. He carefully placed it onto my skin and pressed down.

The syringe slid into Aaron's arm and one of the veins. The doctor slowly injected the liquid and pulled the former out again.

Arthur didn't feel anything.

The man then stood up again and said while leaving the room: "It would be a shame if you died now, one day before our experiment starts. So please fight against the pain."

Before Aaron could ask what he meant, his body began to get hot and a sudden pain flashed through his head.
