Malcom’s Treasures (2)

When he finished rubbing the young woman's hands, they slowly advanced towards the next chamber.

Skyler peered into the chamber and saw a pillar with a stone in the center, she looked at Malcom, and he shook his head.

The young woman threw a tiny ball of fire towards the stone, and out of nowhere, a huge Cyclops appeared.

The both of them hid in the entrance and watched as the watchful eye of the Cyclops sought them out.

"That thing can turn you to stone, right?" Skyler asked as she curiously looked at the Cyclops.

"If the ray of his eye hits you," Malcom calmly answered.

"Oh… What should we do?" It was a known fact that Cyclops could turn one into stone, and Skyler actually wanted to test that out. With Malcom's answer, it seems he already had an experience fighting with one. She felt envious.

"Well, murder him," Malcom replied casually, cutting off her line of thought.

"Ok. What's the plan?" She was eager to try. After all, it's better to fight Cyclops than bugs.

"Don't worry, and I'll take care of it."

Just as he said that Malcom took the dagger from his back. He gripped it firmly before he walked out into the chamber.

The young woman looked at him with curiosity. She was looking forward to how he would deal with this type of situation.

Malcom presence was noticed by the Cyclops. It looked at him and immediately used its eye and shot.

The attack hit the stone floor without causing any effect. If not for the sound of the attack, Skyler would think that it was just an illusion.

Skyler had lost sight of Malcom, who was now on one side of the room.

The young woman did not understand how he could move at such speed. For her, he must have used these types of fights to train.

She was really amazed that he could do such a feat in the real world.

As Skyler watched, the Cyclops, who turned his head to search his objective, was surprised when Malcom appeared once again.

With Malcom's unnatural speed that he sometimes possessed, he stabbed a sword in the Cyclops' eye.

It yelled in anger, trying to fight back. However, its eye was both its greatest strength and weakness. Thus it did not take long for the Cyclops to feel lifeless on the floor of the chamber.

Malcom was now holding a dagger, which was a sword seconds ago. He then carelessly walked towards the door.

Two Crushers suddenly appeared in front of him to attack.

Still, the young man moved so quickly that he effortlessly sliced the Crushers before either landed on his limbs.

Skyler, who saw him, observed how his dagger had been transformed into a long sword.

She also noticed that his boots shone under his feet and understood what had happened.

But at that moment, another Cyclops landed in the room right on Malcom's back.

Just like before, he used his speed and evaded a slap from the Cyclop. It tried to reach him again with its other hand only to be surrounded again by Crushers, who did not stop appearing.

The young man again modified his dagger into a spear and, with quick movements, began to kill the insects that approached him.

Still, this movement led him to neglect the Cyclops. They, with unusual speed, managed to take several Crushers between his hands and throw them forcefully against Malcom.

He evaded several of the insects that flew in his direction like projectiles. Still, one of the insects that attacked him independently managed to hold his leg for a second.

Malcom cut the head of this one but one of those that the Cyclops was throwing managed to hit him and throw him against the wall, being cornered before the attack of the eye of the Cyclops that was already going in his direction.

He had nothing to do, and turning the dagger into a shield, he prepared to protect himself when a strong flame passed by him and Skyler. She somehow landed at the center of the chamber.

The head of the Cyclops had been hacked off by an attack from Skyler that resembled a sword. Her fingers lit up on fire and attacked all the insects that constantly appeared.

After a few seconds, the chamber went silent, and the triumphant girl walked over to Malcom.

"You know, it is pretty easy to ask if you need a hand, Malcom," she said with fake sweetness.

The young man looked at her with a frown. He could not understand why he wanted to be able to be at the same level and be able to impress the goddess of fire, just like how she had impressed him.

Malcom got up and brushed the mucus off his clothes.

The girl came over and said, "Boots and dagger are also treasures like the mantle of fire, aren't they?"

The smiling young man took out the dagger from him and offered it to Skyler.

She took it without a second thought. "What do they do?"

"Well, the boots are made of a treasure called the feather carpet. The treasure allows you to walk on any surface. That is why I can move even in the air," Malcom explained honestly.

"And why can you move so fast?" She continued to ask. Skyler really appreciates that Malcom was answering him without reservations.

"Well, if I use all the power of the boots, I invoke the speed of the feather carpet that allows me to move at the speed that she was moving as if I were flying in it."

"Cool. And this?" Skyler questioned as she returned the dagger to Malcom.

After Malcom took it, the dagger turned it into a sword and then into a spear before it got back in its original form, as if he was playing with it.

"This dagger is complicated. There is not much information about it. I found it in a dwarf forge. Apparently, it uses will as a source of power and is made of material that I do not know. I took it to several craftsmen, and none could understand it well. It is a super-resistant weapon capable of cutting and penetrating everything and takes the form, I think. It is very useful."

The young woman looked at him curiously and said.

"And with the mantle of fire, you have a total of three powerful magic treasures. Amazing, most of the time, people don't see one in their life. And you have three."

"Four! At least here," Malcom said, smiling.

"What is the fourth?" She asks enthusiastically.

"Pray you don't have to see it, "Malcom said, starting to walk to the other room. "Because if I have to use it, it means that we are in serious trouble."

The young woman watched him walk and tried to find out what the other treasure would be. Malcom was full of surprises, and she was beginning to like discovering them.

Malcom walked to the gem and looked at it without approaching the pedestal. Just as she did, a blue light shone in it. He thought that perhaps another trap could protect the jewel but looking around, he saw the defeated enemies and decided to take it.

When his hand took the jewel and lifted it from the pedestal, the chamber they were in began to move.

Skyler stared at the dark walls as the room began to slowly ascend.

As the lighting went up, it became more natural, and the smiling couple could feel the freshness of the forest.

The room rose so high that large windows began to let sunlight into it, and doors with the markings of the banner appeared on both sides of the chamber.

"What do you think is here?" Skyler softly pointed to one of the newly appeared doors.

Malcom grinned, "There's only one way to find out!"
