Bones' Last Failure

Bones opened his eyes after his long healing session. He felt conflicted as he recalled the recent flow of events.

The wound Skyler had inflicted on him was so deep that it took him nine hours to fully heal in the healer's room.

When he looked at his side, he saw Sarah and Emanuel. They were his two subordinates, who seemed still unable to completely accept that the elemental was so badly injured.

"Boss! Was that injury caused by Skyler?" Sarah asked with unmasked bewilderment.

Bones nodded with a bitter smile. He then carefully got up and pulled up a lower part of his shirt to show them the scar on his stomach that was prevailing.

The wound was too deep to be completely erased.

When he looked at Sarah, he said, "Yes. She caused this scar."

Sarah looked at his scar with surprise as she muttered, "How could it be? She got a powerful treasure or something?"
