*Sienna*
As soon as I get into the car, Xavier goes back into the building. I look at Ro and he is busy putting on my seatbelt and making sure I am comfortable. Some short minutes later, Xavier is back and he jumps in the front of the car and starts driving.
“We are going to get you to the hospital and you are going to file a police report. I saw you struggling with him and when he saw me he let you go and ran. That is the official version, ok?” He tells me and I nod slowly. “Good, now come here, let me distract you from this pain a bit.”
I look at him puzzled but just then he kisses me and I gasp.
He is right, this distracts me and I feel like I missed him forever. His kiss is soft and gentle, making me relax and immediately soothing me. After several kisses, he manages to keep my focus away from the pain.
When I feel the car stop moving, Xavier walks down and opens the door for me. Ro unbuckles my seatbelt and gets out on the other side, walking to me and helping me out. I can walk, but he knows that each step has repercussions on the rest of my body. I whimper as I finally step down from the car.
A nurse walks out of the emergency room and offers some assistance.
“What happened?” She asks.
“Her ex found her, and the idiot ran away before I could put my hands on him. She has a restraining order on him already, so you can call the police to make it formal,” Ro takes control and explains in short words what happened.
“Don’t worry sweetheart, we will take care of you,” she says softly and they walk me in.
After two scans and some sedatives, the doctor explains to me that the strength used to pull my arm was enough to pull a muscle and dislocate my shoulder. They put more sedatives in me so I feel quite tired, and I quickly feel sleep wash over me.
When I wake up, Ro tells me they had to make me sleep to put my shoulder in place; even with sedatives, the pain was going to be too strong. I still feel a bit dizzy even though we waited an hour more, but I pay close attention to what the doctor tells me once he comes back to check on me.
“There is no major nerve or tissue damage, we were able to put the bone back in place so your shoulder joint will likely improve over a few weeks, but you'll be at increased risk for future dislocation. I want you to avoid any movements that could risk the healing process, ok?”
I nod but it is Ro who answers for me. “I will make sure she doesn’t have to move much, thank you, Doctor.”
They shake hands and after he is gone, Ro looks at me still serious. “As soon as they release you, we are going home. There is a room being prepared for you already, and I don’t want to hear a no for an answer.”
I nod at him and smile; I am too tired to argue. “Ok,” is all I manage to say.
Two police officers come shortly after. I can see them speaking to the doctor before they come into my room to ask me questions. They ask Ro to leave us alone and he refuses at first, but I tell him it was ok.
“Please tell us what happened,” the woman says.
“I apologize… if my words come out slowly…” I begin, “I have been given plenty of sedatives.”
The woman smiles and nods. “We understand. Please, tell us what happened.”
I nod. “You already know about my… restraining order, don’t you?” They nod. “I moved about two years ago. All was ok. A few days ago it was my birthday… the morning after I found flowers at my doorstep, they came from him… I threw the flowers away, but I didn’t want to panic. I tried to do things in a normal way… This weekend I was feeling sick and remained at home. In bed. And today he knocked on the door. I didn’t know who it was… I thought it was someone else… he pushed me in and I fell… I tried to run and he pulled my arm… But Ro saw him and rushed to me, Theo ran… I am sorry I feel dizzy…”
The woman jots down some things and then nods. This time the man is the one talking. “We will proceed to send a capture order in his name. Once we capture him, we will contact you to let you know. For the time being, we suggest you stay at a friend’s house, or someone you can trust. Do you have a place?”
Ro walks in and they turn to look at him. “She will be staying with me. My name is Roharu Lancaster, and you can find me here.” He gives them a card.
The policeman takes the card and puts it in his pocket. “You brought her here, right?”
He nods. “Yes, me and my assistant, who is outside if you want to take his statements.”
The policeman writes down some words then continues. “And what is your relationship with her?”
Ro stands next to my bed. “She is my fiance.”
