When Helen Blair came out of the restroom, she saw James Anderson leaning against a wall covered with floral wallpaper not far off.

He was looking down, hands crossed, seeming to be concentrating on watching his own toes. Above his head was a European-style wall lamp, casting a faint light on his body, the shadow of his formidable form reflected faintly on the wall beside him.

His face was indiscinct in the shadow.

Helen glanced at him, assuming he was waiting for someone. Adhaving completely missed her passing, she decided to walk past him without a greeting.

Just as she walked past him, a deep, indifferent voice reached her ears, "Young lady, don't be so pessimistic."

"I don't understand what you mean." She remarked coldly.

James lifted his head, and the shadows made his handsome face clearer. His lower lip was a little thick, and pressly tightly, making him look more stern and serious.
