The next morning, Lisa sat by Lianna's tiny bed, watching over her daughter with immense care and worry etched on her pretty features.
Dark circles below her eyes proved her exhausted state since she had failed to get a drop of sleep the previous night.
Her restlessness was still apparent.
Ivy was out there somewhere, ready to strike at any opportunity she got.
That was why she couldn't let Lianna out of her sight for a second.
Her grip on the tiny bed tightened and relaxed slowly once she saw who hard opened the door.
It was Lian and he looked just as exhausted as she was.
"Hey." He whispered a greeting as he moved and sat by her side, his arms coming to rest over her shoulder as his grey eyes looked at their sleeping daughter.
"Any news from Jared?" Lisa asked as she turned to look at him.
Lian shook his head to convey a negative result.
"No. Nothing of importance." He replied as his hold on Lisa tightened.
