04: He's back

"I think there's something that's not clicking," I murmured.

I leaned my chin on my hands and stare at the ball that keep on bouncing while Liam dribbling it. He held the ball up and aimed to shoot it on the ring. He wiped the sweats on his forehead before he walked on my side to get his water.

"You've been saying that since yesterday. One...two...I lost count on how many times you said it," he said, irritated.

"And who the heck told you to listen?"

He tapped his shoe and suddenly pointed his fingers on me. I sighed and pouted my lips. I rest my chin on my hands and keep on letting out a deep sigh.

I really think that something's off about what Madam Lesly said. Momma was old too but I never heard her misused her words. Am I just overthinking about the prophecy? I think I'm going to breakdown any moment. Does a thirteen years old like me deserve to think of this?

I heard a loud cheer inside the gym. Liam was no longer here beside me and I just found him inside the basketball court and flirting to the group of girls through playing basketball. I almost choke on my own saliva when I caught him winked at his fan girls. That was so random of him. Add those screams of all the girls and almost faint because of what he did.

I can't stand seeing them going crazy for him. I stood up and walked myself towards him. All their eyes settled at me and they started to glare at me.

"Liam, you're mom called me. She asked if you want a pajama theme party for your birthday?" I said emphasizing the word 'pajama'.

All the girls shuts their mouth and eventually march themselves out in the gymnasium. I tried so hard not to burst on laughing. I could feel Liam's glare at my back but he didn't say a thing after all the girls gone.

"Thank you for embarrassing me right now. I'll be losing my fans because of what you said," he said sarcastically. Liam sounds frustrated and suddenly rolled the ball on the other side and went back to his bag.

My laughter echoed on the four corners of the gym. I really like making fun of him when he's in front of his fan girls. Luckily, he never hit me because of what I did. He's not the type of boy that could insult girls. Well...he has his own way to make them cry. I walked over to him and slapped his back while drinking. He suddenly blew out the water that was in his mouth and punched his chest because he suddenly choked on his water.

"The heck― Do you want me to die...earlier?" He was having a hard time to speak because he still coughing and catching his breath.

"Don't leave yet. You're still not yet done on your training. I go outside to buy you water," I said.

He just nodded as a response so I turned my back and walked myself to a department store nearby the gym. He was practicing basketball for the upcoming Sports League in the Academy. He just planned to join last week since he didn't join the tryouts last year because he suddenly catch a cold. He has a potential because basketball was his favorite sports since we're just a kid. He can keep up with his other seniors because his height is not far from others. He just fourteen years old but he looked like a ninth grader because of his height. Imagine that you walked with a tall boy everyday if you won't be embarrass.

I went inside the department store and grab a mineral water for him and a chocolate ice cream for me because I had been craving for over a month. That jerk was so stingy because I have been accompanying him for his practice but he never treat me a cup of ice cream. So fortunate of him because I still buying him his water. He never knew that it came from his father's pocket. Uncle Nisco always giving me his extra allowance because he doesn't know how to spent correctly.

I took out 5 dollars from my wallet and handed it to the cashier to pay for what I bought. I have to turn my back to leave the counter but I suddenly bumped on someone's body and my ice cream stick on his clothes.

I put down my purchases on the floor and put out my handkerchief to wipe the ice cream on his clothes.

"O my gosh! I'm so sorry! I didn't meant too―"

"Stop that."

"No. It's okay. It's my fault why your clothes gets dirt," I said nervously while still wiping the ice cream off.

I'm not yet done when he grabbed my hand and force it to move away on his stained clothes.

I move my chin up to see him. I stunned when I saw his face. The guy who grabbed my hand hands has a mesmerizing eyes that was hiding on his long bangs. How could I forgot that eyes? It was the familiar eyes that I used to admire before when I was in primary school.

"H-Harris?" My voice stuttered as I pronounced his name. Why is he here? Are they now back to their home?

He didn't say back but he stared at me for a moment before he pushed me to the side so that he could get in the counter.

I didn't move because I still shocked on seeing him her. The last time I saw him when we were in fourth grade. They flew to Florida to continue hid education because his parent's job moved there. I used to have a huge crush on him before which explain why I get star struck when I saw him. He still has the handsome face as before except for his height because he got even taller after a few years.

The door of the store opened and I saw Liam entered and started to yell at me.

"What took you so long? Did you buy all the foods here?"

"Shhh..." I put my fingers in between my mouth to shut him down. I slammed the bottle of mineral water on his chest. "Here's your water. Go back to your practice now." I said while pushing him out the store.

When I looked back on the counter I can no longer find Harris there. I roamed my eyes around the store to find him but he's no longer there. I gasped in frustration. I didn't get the chance to talk to him.

"What's going on?" Liam asked.

"Nothings happen because you came," I replied to him annoyingly.

I grabbed his arms and pulled him out of the store. He is really unlucky in my life. Because of him I didn't get a chance to talk with Harris. I wouldn't know if when will I see him again.

"And what's my fault again?" he asked in astonishment.

I let go of his arm and looked at him. He was looking at me curiously and I just arched my brows at him. The side of my lips rose and I eventually blush when I remember his face again.

"Harris is here. He's finally back!"
