Season 1 Chapter 13: "Defend the Northern City Fortress Part 2"

(2nd Day of the 2nd Week of January 2018)

(Between the Borders of the Outer Dense Forest and the Northern City Fortress)

Accel: "Power Slash!... Rending Strike!... Light Chains!..."

System Notification: "Power Slash (II) → (III), Rending Strike (II) → (III), and Light Chains (I) → (III), has increase its proficiency level by 1."

My skills is increasing one by one, just killing this goblins and slimes can increase my skill proficiency and my stat levels. Well, according to the MagiTech Watch killing monsters or wild animals gives extra percentage of exp and additional exp when its on Frenzy Mode or Berserk Mode.

That is why so many players take risk fighting at night to increase their level faster, though there is 15% Chance of Casualty happening on the Dense Forest especially young people like me, who wants to gain much power but due to there reckless decision they ended up killing themselves from there enemies, and that is a sad truth about it.

(Somewhere near the Lake with some Tall Trees)

Accel: "Let's check my other quest rewards... Hmm... A basic passive scroll skill... Hmm... Let's trying learning it... Learn the Skill."

System Notification: "Passive Skill Learned! You have learned Basic Cooking Mastery!"

Accel: "Huh? Basic Cooking Mastery??? Hmm... Kind of interesting and useful skill, especially if you are alone or other party member who doesn't know how to cook, when comes to long journey/adventure. MagiTech Watch, check the skill information..."

MagiTech Watch: "Basic Cooking Mastery (I): This passive skill represents a foundational level of cooking proficiency. It grants the user the ability to prepare basic, everyday meals with commonly available ingredients, ensuring that the user can create nutritious and simple palatable food."

→ Reduces cooking time for basic recipes by 1 second.

→ Learned Recipe: Fried Egg, Canned Goods, Vegetable Soup, Grilled Fish, Baked Potato, and Omelet.

After learning that passive skill, I was able to make good meal and according to it, when the passive skill called "Basic Cooking Mastery" Proficiency Levels Up, there will be additional either positive or negative effects depending on the ingredients that is mix in.

(Somewhere at the Small Mountain Areas of the Northern City Fortress)

Accel: "Damn it, climbing the mountain is hard. But, at least its not that big, Oh... Finally I am able to see..."

But, what Accel saw was terrifying. So many dead bodies of the players fought from the frontlines, when he saw this he vomitted because he was still not use seeing this and the other reason was the thick smell of blood from the players and monsters. There was some who was eaten alive, some bodies are being tored or some of the remaining monsters that are above C-Rank Level are eating the dead bodies.

After dealing what he saw, he was armed and ready, but nervous at the same time. Because he knows that one mistake can lead to his own death, but for the sake of his long-term goals and wanted that to achieve he must fight on and reach to the top, after checking the monsters information, they all below to the (C-) Monster Rank Level.

(Note: The Category Level will change once a player reaches (C) Rank, they are divided into three, they are: (-), (), and (+). Example: (C-), (C), (C+) Rank.)

Monster Information:

1. Forest Wolves are pack-hunting carnivores that are highly adaptable and intelligent. In a dense forest setting, they are apex predators that rely on their keen senses and teamwork to hunt their prey. 

→ Attacks: Bite, Claw Swipe, and Pounce. (Can cause bleeding by 50 HP Damage per 5 seconds)

→ Defense: Agility. (Increase Movement Speed by 10%)

→ Ability: Howl. (Summons 2 to 3 Forest Wolves per 10 Minutes)

Accel: "Damn... How shall I do this... Since I have tons of dexterity attributes killing it quicker is much more suffiecient... Okay, let's do this..."

Accel tightened his grip on his sword, readying himself for the expected encounter. From the shadows emerged as he got closer to the enemies, a pack of Forest Wolves appeared and has finishing eating the bodies without traces as their eyes gleaming with hunger and menace, because it was not enough for them and they sense another prey that was coming towards Accel. He breaths in and out to get ready to battle, knowing the risk and dangers that will set upon to himself, as he rise his shield and run towards the Forest Wolves.

Accel: "Shield Charge!" and "Shield Bash!"

(Knockouts 2 Forest Wolves out of the 10 for 10 seconds)

Accel: "Power Slash! (3rd Forest Wolve)" and "Rending Strike! (4th Forest Wolve)"

System Notification: "You killed 2 Forest Wolves! You have leveled up from 100 → 105!"

MagiTech Watch Warning: "Incoming Attack! The 5th Wolve is using Bite and the 6th Forest Wolve is using Swipe!"

Accel: "Deflecting Spin! (5th Forest Wolve)" and "Quick Guard! (6th Forest Wolve)"

MagiTech Watch Warning: "You have succeed defending there attacks!"

Accel: "Light Chains! (5th and 6th Forest Wolves)" and "Whirldwind Slash!"

System Notification: "You have killed another 2 Forest Wolves! You have leveled up from 105 → 110!"

Accel's Thoughts: "Good that was enough to deal 4 Forest Wolves and the other 2 Forest Wolves that was knockout recovered. Okay, let's do it again!!!"

After that, Accel uses the same attack patterns and killed all 6 Forest Wolves before they attempt calling reinforcements. Accel cut some of their fur for some proof that he was able to deal them without problems, maybe due to his Dexterity that was good. And another problem occurred was his sword durability decrease a lot.

According to the lectures from the NMA, learning skills without scrolls or the reachings of others are possible. Example, when a person cooks and practice dailies he/she was able learn the skill without issue, so Accel took out from his Item Box an "Blacksmith Stone Hammer (Common Tier)".

He plans to learn blacksmitthing so that repair his tools or maybe his friends is possible, especially long travels or adventures in the near future. So, he started practicing hammering not his own sword but a disposable copper sword that was bought from the market (I don't where what market, but yes).

System Notification: "You have killed 6 Forest Wolves! You have leveled up from 110 → 125! You can now evolve your class job from Veteran Swordsman → Newbie Knight!"

Accel: "Nice!"

Note: I forgot to mention Accel's Shield Skills, there was one called Defensive Stance but the rest was not mention, here are the other shield skills he have:

1. Shield Charge (II): A rushing attack where the user charges forward with their shield, ramming into enemies and potentially knocking them down by 10 seconds. (Intermediate Tier Level)

2. Shield Bash (II): A powerful strike with the shield that can stagger or knock back opponents, breaking their guard and creating an opening for further attacks, applies the enemy with debuff by slowing the opponent by 10 seconds. (Intermediate Tier Level)

3. Deflecting Spin (II): A defensive maneuver where the user spins with their shield, deflecting 3 to 5 incoming attacks from different directions, grants user temporarily speed by 5%. (Intermediate Tier Level)

4. Quick Guard (V): Quickly raising the shield in response to an imminent attack, useful for last-second defense, grants user a chance to use again Quick Guard by 10% without using SP. (Basic Tier Level)

5. Brace for Impact (V): A basic defensive posture that increases the user's stability and reduces the likelihood of being knocked down, decreases the chance being stun or knockout by 25%. (Basic Tier Level)
