Wish

I was saved.

From my own demise.

He was the embodiment of hope, outshining the darkness that lives within me.

"You are looking pitiful, my son."

He felt the angers, fear, and hatred within me. He felt the sadness, loneliness, and tiredness within me.

And I can see his emotion too. Just like a mere human controlled by their emotion.

My eyes open, my minds cleared up. The dream I had is vague yet feel vivid. It was as if those were meant to be remembered.

Currently, the sun is at its peak. And since my window is left open, I became the victim of its shine. Burned skin and half cooked body, this room has a temperature where you can cook an egg and eat it.

I should probably go out, it's not safe to remain here since I have a problem in my head. It makes me irritated in simple things.

Thankfully though, as soon as I open the window, there reveals a small girl.

"Hi Leia, are you working?"

The moment I asked, her body twitched. She must've been startled by my sudden appearance.

"V-Vien! Yes, I'm still working!"

I can see the proud face in her figure, yet it still felt like an adorable creature who manage to walk first.

Wait a minute.

What am I even doing, falling for a little child!

"H-Huh... Goodbye?"

Before I knew it, I already left the inn. I was in haste, didn't want anyone to know my intention to that girl. But it was all a misunderstanding.

Yes, a misunderstanding.

Now, I should probably head to the flower shop. Not that I know of, the lady yesterday might be there.

I walk across the intersections, and pass a few familiar building. After that I arrived.

I enter without hesitation and what appears in front of me is the usual peaceful place.

"Good day, how may I-gugh! It's you."

Unfortunately, the lady before wasn't here. But something is weird.

"Y-you... W-why are you here?"

As I look him in the eyes, I can see it clearly that he's averting his gaze. He's also trembling. Is he this angry to me?

"I-I'm just gonna come later, is that okay?"

Suddenly, he made a loud voice.

"W-WHAT! W-WHY DID Y-YOU EVEN C-CAME BACK!"

You sound like you're forcing your words out.

"Tprei, what are you doing! Can't you be a little nicer to our co-guhg! It's you!"

Deja vu.

And who came out from the side door is the lady from yesterday, although she has a hint of tiredness in her face.

She must've done a pretty big job earlier since I didn't see her here, perhaps, she's working a lot of them. I'm envious of her.

"I came for the job."

I hope I sound sincere.

"Y-yeah, you can start whenever you want."

Then she averted her gaze.

You too? What the hell are you guys doing. But shouldn't I be the one feeling embarrass here?

Anyways, I got accepted. To start my job with an earnest expression is the best way to start it. So I asked for my role, they gave me a list with a trembling hands, and guide me to where the packages is.

Now, the problem is, the list isn't quite detailed as I thought. Also, I am not familiar with this city, let alone this specific location which is really badly detailed.

Either way, a job is a job, no matter how hard it is.

I too had a job back in my former life, it was supposed to be a source of my pocket money, but unfortunately, it wasn't meant for me to spend all of that.

It was sad, but I'd rather lose my money that lose my life. I truly fear death.

Now that I remember it, that world is really shitty. A place full of corruption, connection makes you priveleges. This world, it wasn't tainted by such dirt.

Now, to deliver this! Since I don't know their locations at all, I will just have to ask someone and trust my guts. Perhaps I could even stroll around so I can remember the places.

"H-He left?"

But what I didn't knew is that something is happening behind my back.

"T-that monster..."

I supposed it's because I am dense when it comes to my surrounding, lacking sense of empathy to others. The fight, I didn't knew it has spread across this city.

Either way, I have managed to get a home, enter the academy and enroll, and get a proper job.

It was troublesome, but it was a lot easier compared to my adventurer.

It's been a week, the start of the school years has come. Now, I'm currently standing in front of the board where my name lies... In the first place.

"Vien Louis, 100 %"

I knew it would be easy, but I didn't knew it would be like this. How could I become careless?

"A commoner dares to outrank his highness?!"

I didn't knew it would cause a trouble in my school life once again. If I only knew, it wouldn't have ended this way.

But... This is still a good therapy to my trauma. I need to endure the upcoming humiliation, suffering, and loneliness I will receive.

As long as, I can repay the debt I was given.
