Chapter 15.5: Conversations in Prison

A LONG CONVERSATION TAKES PLACE IN THIS CHAPTER.

Nei and Taejin were found out and thrown into an underground prison cell in Aiwo district. It was the worst possible situation, they had to find the tattooed man before he left the island but that would be impossible if they were jailed down there. They failed the job.....or so it seemed.

....

In a dark cell lit up by a candle, Nei, Taejin and a man sat on the cell floor wondering staring at the ceiling for a while. There was an awkward silence in the cell until...

"So, what do we do now Sunbae?" Taejin asked.

"How the hell should I know?" Nei replied reluctantly.

Nei continued

"Shit! I may not be able to go to the North if I end up stuck here."

"You told me you weren't sure if you wanted to go there, isn't it a good thing for you?"

"Sure, being stuck in prison is a good thing." Nei said sarcastically.

"If I don't show up in the North, the relationship between North Korea and Northwest Pro would just get worse and I will end up being blamed. I bet that Director Myung planned all this so he could avoid dealing with the North." Nei clicked his tongue as he carried out his habit of blaming others for his misfortune.

"Yeah, what a bitch." Taejin said sarcastically.

"Sarcasm isn't your forte, you bastard." Nei noticed Taejin's attitude and cursed out.

The man sitting in the corner of the cell had been listening to their conversation and he couldn't hold back his laughter anymore.

Taejin was a bit irritated with the man's laugh, so he asked

"What is so funny?"

"Haha, don't mind me, I just laughed because I can relate to that young man's situation."

He drew nearer to them and sent a sharp gaze toward Nei. His eyes sparkled in a weird way that made Nei's skin curl. It wasn't just because of his eyes; his handsome face, aesthetic body, black hair, long brown coat, and glasses made his gaze even more uncomfortable.

"I treat the world, nice to meet you." he introduced himself as he placed his back against the cell walls and lit up a smoke.

"I kill people, nice to meet you." Nei responded to him with a rude introduction.

"...." The man looked dazed for a moment before bursting out in laughter.

"Hahaha, my introduction must have been impolite, pardon my manners but I can't reveal my identity because of my circumstance. Just call me doctor. Besides I may look like this, but I am quite old."

"Age doesn't call for your arrogance." Nei usually didn't care about stuff like this but he was pissed off with the words doctor used. To Nei.....the world couldn't be treated.

"Ohhhh, is that so? Then let me introduce myself properly, UNDER THE HEAVENS AND ABOVE THE EARTH, NO ONE DESERVES TO CALL HIMSELF MY EQUAL. That is who I am." Doctor had a sharp gaze as he said these words.

Somehow, doctor's words didn't seem arrogant. It felt like he was telling the truth but Nei brushed that feeling off with his response...

"Quite the attitude for someone in a cell."

"Hahaha, that's true." Doctor busted out in laughter.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but for some reason, your laugh really pisses me off." Taejin also couldn't hold back his words anymore.

"I have been told. Anyway, what are your stories?"

"Stories?"

"Yeah, we aren't going anywhere so how about we reminiscent about our past for a bit."

"Well...I was living a good life until this asshole decided to bang my sister." Taejin happily dissed Nei.

"Uhh, so the guy with childhood trauma is a playboy." Doctor maid a confusing comment on Taejin's story.

"Childhood trauma?" Nei was dumbfounded at the words doctor suddenly directed to him.

"It's obvious. You don't hide it as well as you think."

"...." The room fell silent at the dark words doctor was about to utter.

"A child who only sees his father as the man who hit him, one who only sees his mother as a hypocrite only capable of looking out for herself. Parents who only forced their beliefs down your throat. Your nonchalant attitude towards life is merely a measly act of revenge against them, your habit of blaming others is an intentional attitude to never forget who to place the blame on. Everything thing you did to mold your current self is everything your parents di- "

The doctor couldn't finish his sentence because Nei grabbed him by the collar and with insane rage in his eyes he punched doctor right in the face. Doctor's nose made a *kueek* sound as it broke. Nei pinned him down and kept on hitting him.

Nei's blow made a different sound every time it landed on the doctors face.

"Nei!!!" Taejin cried out to Nei while trying to get him off doctor but Nei didn't budge. He was like a beast set on tearing apart his prey. It was nothing like his usual appearance, the only thing that rang in Nei's head was 'Kill and kill and kill and kill and kill'.

Nei threw Taejin off him and Taejin slammed his back against the wall. It was a heavy impact and Taejin's spine couldn't bear it. He fell to the floor unable to stand while Nei continued his rampage.

Even with his face being hit back and forth, doctor had a smile on his face as he thought to himself.

'I choose you.'
