After going back to his quarters; in the crimson lion base, Zakai rested and then went to the libabry to see what the dryad was on about

"Dryad and Elesia huh." Zakai said, opening books such as "Mythical creatures" And "places and experiences" both famous books

apparently, word on the street is that certain powerful nobles have books that can directly implement the contents into the person's mind with no notable drawback, these are called "Memory books" and are used to teach nobles speech and how to write quickly. for a peasant, however, that is just a dream

Zakai couldn't see anything about the Dryad or anything, but he found a place called "Elysia"

apparently, it's on the border of the heart kindgom and included in a grand mana zone

"I can only dream." Zakai sighed, thinking of the border that separates the heart kindgom and the clover kindgom

Kindgom borders normally contain a "Grand mana zone" Where the amount of natural mana is so high that it can produce terraformed earth that has certain conditions, such as a blazing desert zone or a Freezing artic zone

not to mention that a large amount of trap magic is placed around the border to kill anyone foolish enough to sneak into the heart kingdom

the only way to get into the region is to get a letter of consent from the queen to allow some nobles to go over for research purposes

picking up a dusty book, Zakai looked at it

"Diplomatic and trade routes in the clover kingdom."

after reading through the 900-page long book, Zakai got an understanding of the current state of trade and peace

Clover kingdom is in a war against diamond kindgom, heart kingdom is neutral but is seeing movement from the Spade kindgom and The spade kingdom is preparing an invasion on the heart kingdom

the spade kingdoms formal royal family were topped in a Coup d'état by the "Dark triad" belonging to the trio of siblings that overthrew the royal family. not much is known about them, but they're extremely powerful

the diamond kingdom is in a war with the clover kindgom due to lack of resources, so they've been trying to expand the borders as much as they can to farm valuable resources from the clover kingdom. it is said that they dabble in forbidden arts such as trying to fuse a grimoire with another and experimenting with mage stones (Not to be confused with magic stones)

"Mage stones?" Zakai thought to himself. the gems implanted on mars head were probably that, causing Zakai to search them up in "Gemstones and magic tools"

Mage stones - a gem harvested exclusively from the grand mana zone and are made out of pure solidified mana that over a course of a century has solidified and crystalised.

there was a small image made by ink magic which made Zakai whip out his soul bow and compares the crystals

"They're the same." Zakai said, looking at the bow "I wonder where I got this one from." the gem was made with the bow as it appeared with the bow, causing Zakai to sigh

since he got a week off due to the missions he was assigned, Zakai went to his old cabin with the help of spatial magic and the mark on his back

like he said countless times before, the mark on his back provides mana recovery faster, and it seemed to absorb mana from the air and transport it into his body directly. this means that if hes in a place of high ambient mana, he can practically have a finite amount of mana depending on the amount

finding himself in his old room, Zakai gave a wry smile

"I'll go see sister lily first."

he had gained a lot of money from the past few missions, so he will make sure to tip the village generously

walking into the town square, Zakai heard crying as he poked his head into the shop that had the noble and woman in

At the entrance of the shop, there were 2 girls, one young and one elderly. the older one hugging the younger girl while crying

"What's wrong?" Zakai said, looking at the familiar girl. the girl was the one married to the noble, and since he gave him the bow Zakai felt indebted

although Zakai wasn't about that "if you give me kindness and a gift, I will multiply 10 fold blah blah blah", but since the man gave it to him and he knew the wife, Zakai would see if he could help

"It's my father" She cried, looking at the crimson lion outfit, her eyes lighting up in hope before slowly losing it once more

"Is he okay?" 9 years Zakai had spent in this village, 9 years and he was a regular customer of the shop when he needed new physical arrows

the man was old, that was for sure. if he had to guess, he was probably dying from something

She quietly said, "Follow me, you are our last hope."

Zakai was about to go and follow her when the older woman whispered into his ear

"My daughter recently had a miscarriage and her husband isn't taking it well and now her father has collapsed., sorry if she's a bit emotional."

"Its fine" Zakai said with a hint of pity , before walking into the room the old man was held in

"Zakai... is that you?"

"Yeah old man, it's me."

the old man laughed, his eyes showing sadness

"What's wrong with you? you seemed fine before." Zakai asked, wondering what happened to the old man

"It's just my old age catching up with me, no reason to worry"

Zakai saw a bandage wrapped across his chest which made his eyes roll

"Just your old age? I didn't know stab wounds were a sign of old age."

The man gave a laugh, before saying "I fell from a fence and got impaled from a pole, that was all."

Zakai once more saw the battered body and sighed "What are all of the bruises then?"

"Just me falling down the stairs."

Producing some blessed water and sprinkling it onto his wound, Zakai said

"Fine, ill ask your daughter and wife then."

"No please!" The man coughed blood "They don't need to be involved"

"Answer my question old man."

he sighed, before saying

"Some purple orca nobles had come for a mission and had been abusing the people in the city." The man sighed "One of them even hit Andrea in the chest, which may have contributed

"I see." Zakai sipped the tea Andrea had given him and asked "Do you want me to take care of them?"

The man sighed "No, it will be traced towards you."

"They accidentally fell to a horde of magically enchanted beasts that were attracted to their magic." Zakai's pupil glowed in a golden light "Then the animals ate their body, leaving nothing but a skull and some bones."

the old man looked towards me, sighing "Do what you wish, but don't include my family into it."

Zakai nodded, before saying "Get better soon."
