Zalak woke up, his eyes rolling when he thought about the dream

"It's being 10 years since the dream has started and it still hasn't stopped" He sighed, before looking over to the calendar

"Ah, it's Grimoire selection day." although most teens would be buzzing, he wasn't. he had his Grimoire, and that was it.

"Yo book, shake once if a Grimoire will say yes and shake twice if a grimoire won't come to me."

the book that was held in his soul gave a shake

"Just another book to consume," Zalak said, before looking at himself in the mirror when he got older, his features were more defined as his Nose came to a point alongside his ears, and his Black hair darkening, even more, showing a contrast to his hazel skin tone and Amber eyes

he was tall for his age standing at a height of 5"11, maybe because of his Psychical activity while hunting in the forest.

he had made quite a name for himself in the City for hunting more than required and donating it to family

"Yeah, I'm a beacon of kindness," Zalak muttered, before putting on his usual clothes and taking his bow and arrow with him a lot has happened in these past 9 years, that was for sure. Magic wise, he was able to cast a lot more and his body wasn't as strained as he grew older, making him able to cast a lot of magic before running tired. normally, magic would be predetermined by your standing, as nobles had more mana than commoners due to their bloodline. but Zalak felt like his mana was a muscle he could train and gain more of, which gave him more of the reason to hide the book

His Wind magic has gained 2 more spells and his holy water magic had gained 1.

Wind magic

zephyr arrows, which are arrows made out of wind magic and can be pre-made. there a lot sharper and faster than normal arrows and can be made along as their mana

and then next was an upgrade of [Wind blade of Hermes wolf] called [Wind blade of the Dancing Demon.]

a weird name, that was for sure but its power wasn't something to laugh at. the spell required some kind of movement that looks like dancing before realising about 5 powerful wind blades in the user's choice

Holy water magic

Marytn's water - create a sphere of water to drown the opponents. unfortauntley, it is not strong at all and he rather uses his wind magic than the holy water but that was ok, since Holy water magic is Healing based, not Combat based.

with his power, he should be able to make it into at least 5 of the 9 squads.

walking past the Weapon sellers house, he popped in to talk to the newlywed couple

"Congratulations." He said, looking at the former noble and the daughter of the previous owner, who stepped down in his position

"Thanks." The former noble said, showing a kind smile

he got kicked out of the noble house for not inheriting their magic and gained a non-combat one, so he settled down with the woman he had a rocky relationship with and started losing weight and both fell in love with each over. they're expecting a baby, so he came and congratulated him

whistling while moving towards Grimoire tower, he heard screaming as he looked behind him and saw Asta run at him at full speed

"Zalak, I'm going to be a wizard king!" Asta screamed, running towards me

Since he had enough money to spare, he sent a lot of it to the Village, letting them cultivate more plans and chickens

"Yeah yeah, I know," Zalak said before looking at the Bird on his shoulder.

something was telling him they met before. the book in his soul started shaking massively before coming still once more

the Bird was staring at me with a shocked expression, but Zalak chose to ignore it

"I must be going insane"

sighing, he quickly broke away from the Asta and blended in with the large crowd moving into the large tower

the tower was shaped like a spiral, and the inside was a vertical Libabry spanning up to the sky it seemed, every book here was a Grimoire that could decide somebody's life

feeling the Grimoire in his heart shake, he threatened

"Be on your best behaviour." He sternly said, causing the book to stop. he looked towards the Grimoire and asked

"Can you transform into a three-leaf clover grimoire?"

the book shook once, saying that it could

"You busted." Zalak sighed

an Old man with a grey beard came out of the stand, a small magical device near his beard

"A voice magnifier?" An expensive magic tool with the power to Amplify your voice, used by Politicians and people of power

the old man suddenly began a speech about having a desire for even one of the people to become a member of the 9 magic squad

Scanning the crowd with his eyes, he saw that most of them didn't contain much mana and trying to get into the magic knights is a foolish dream

after the speech ended, thousands of books reigned from the sky and flew to their respective masters.

Murmurs filled the room as everybody got there Grimoires

seeing a Book fly to him, he whipped out his hand and looked at it

"Paper magic."

A rare type of Magic that can be used to create razor-sharp pieces of Paper that can be shaped into whatever the user thinks of

paper enforced by mana is stronger than steel by a lot, so he nodded

he stored it into his soul before laughing

"You boys play nicely now."

the grimoire suddenly moved towards the Paper Grimoire and consumed it, before taking its appearance and power

Making the Grimoire come out, he looked at it and noticed that its the exact copy of the Grimoire, albeit a lot thicker and longer, making it stand out as more powerful

"So you can take the shape of the Grimoire you consume? "

The book shook once

Hearing shouting and Murmuring, he looked at what everyone was shouting at

Yuno , holding a Grimoire. the book had 4 leaves on the front, causing Zalak's eyes to expand

He wasn't the only one shocked, however, as the newly realised book suddenly started shaking, causing Zalak to quarantine it back in his soul

"It's the First magic kings Grimoire!"

shock surrounded the room as murmurs of Jealousy and hatred sparked around the room

"Things are gonna get messy." He said, not looking at the crowd, but at the member of strong mana near Sister lily and Father orthi

"Ah, Zalak, what magic did you get?" They said, looking at the boy walking over

"Paper magic." He said, watching the figure that was suspiciously looking at Yuno, killing intent in his eyes.

there are 3 types of energy in this world. Mana , ki and killing intent

Mana was a thing all people had, Ki was something that needed to be trained in and killing intent was an embodiment of how many things you killed

although Killing intent cant be used as a weapon in most cases, it could cause freezing and fear.

this guys killing intent was strong, so while talking to Father Orsi , he secretly chanted

Father orsi looked at me mutter and he asked

"Did you say something?"

"Don't worry about it, father Orsi." He said, chatting and watching until the man moved "I need to go do something, be right back."

the man was following Yuno , alongside 2 boys who were obviously ready to attack Yuno too

"What a celebrity." He sighed. although Yuno will easily handle the duo of boys, most likely jealous nobles, Yuno is still inexperienced and would lose heavily to the Man with a strong magic sign

as such, he secretly stalked them from behind
