After getting healed by the mages, the boy stood up. most people believed that he was put under too much pressure from the strong higher-ups, causing scorn and disdain to float his way.
the competition was set in 4 groups of 32 people for 128 people in the stadium.
now, although outsiders believe that the tournament must last for more than a day, the battles are very fast and go quick.
the winners of the 4 groups of 32 will go against eachover in the quarter-finals, while the winners will move on to the finals.
A cough enveloped the temple, causing everyone to look at Korag
"Under discussion with the elders and the tribe leaders, tonight's battle will be different from before."
countless people looked up to Korag with confusion
"Each group will do a free-for-all, with all of the members in the stadium fighting eachover freely."
Murmurs filled the temple, causing Korag to say
"Instead of there being a 1v1, it's best to emulate war by showing the children how unpredictable and cruel war is."
the parents agreed with this statement. indeed, a battle with the diamond kingdom is sure to come soon, and they need to prepare to teach their kids.
the children were separated into groups of 32, which each of the groups including 2 of the people that Elias sees as a threat, causing him to furrow his brow.
they knew what they were doing. they wanted to see what the key talent of each clan would do against another. they wanted to put their kids to fight their pride as a clan.
the first group to play was not his group, but a group that apparently had the young master of both the Baek and Qshi clans, who are rivals to eachover. both had different cultures that didn't correspond well with eachover, so the boy watched the fight.
the ordinary kids were quickly wiped up before the two rivals stared eachover down
The young master of the Baek clan used Plant magic, while the Qshi clan young master used Water magic
first, the Baek clan young master, named Nalk, quickly used his plant magic to wrap around the legs of the Qshi young master, Zelk
In responding to the plant wrapping around his leg, the 10-year-old Zelk quickly used his mana to reinforce his hands and tear the vines off his leg, causing him to retreat.
Nalk quickly shot countless plant shaped bullets at Zelk, who made a wall with his water magic as he got closer to Nalk.
the Qshi clan was known for their combat prowess in battle, while the Baek clan were known for their range attacks and crowd control method
a bunch of vines appeared around Zelk , who quickly attempted to jump out, but found his legs trapped by a vine pulling him down.
with the vines rapidly pulling him down, Zelk quickly grabbed a dagger and spun around, cutting the vines with the help of his mana.
that move took a lot out of Nalk , as he started to slow down due to the lack of mana
Zelk quickly closed the distance with his dagger and placed it on the throat of Nalk after blocking some desperate plants bullet
although Nalk looked like he was simply running around, the constant techniques he was using were complex, causing the boy to look at them and do his desperate attempt at replicating them
the next group was his group, the second group. this time, it was the second mistress of the Umara clan and the second son of Xin clan.
both clan's were allied with eachover, causing them to friendly nod at eachover while the boy praticed a technique he brought off that man.
there were certain points in the body where the bloodstream flows, and sometimes when the places are disrupted, it could lead to serious matters.
for example, if there is a blockage of fatty materials in the heart, it could kill someone due to the blood cells not getting enough vitality to survive. however, there is an artificial method to quickly neutralizing someone using one of the pressure points.
this was found out by the great alchemists of the south, in the Hiro continent. this technique were used by there countless clans of assassins
however, the weapon needle to be precise and fast enough to impact the pressure point
what better weapon is there than the needle?
aslong as the boy didn't kill anyone, where the harm?
at first , the boy couldn't knock anyone out, causing the children to scream when the misplaced needles didn't hit them
the boy ignored their screams and practised them.
on his 50th throw, he managed to make someone faint, but the needle didn't go too deep meaning they quickly woke up but were neutralized by a deeper needle
the Umara mistress and the young master of the Xin family were cleaning the battlefield of the people, when they found someone way younger than them practising his techniques on children that were screaming in pain
"is he a psychopath or something?" Xue , the mistress of the Umara clan muttered under her breath
"I wouldn't be surprised." Isac , the young master of the Xin clan muttered
both were signed up for a martial contract, so both spent time with eachover on a daily basis
the weapon to have no emotions were deadly sometimes, and the boy displayed it as he brutally tinkered with the body of the children
Paraona stared at the boy with a sigh, before looking at Juugo who had a freighted expression on his face.
picking up one of the daggers a kid dropped, the boy started to practice what he saw from Zelk.
the boy clicked his tongue after realised he couldn't grasp the technique he was using, before looking at the countless unconscious bodies laid down on the floor
"He really took 32 people on himself, huh."
"He must be exhausted though."
the boy hummed to himself while collecting the needles and moving out of the way of the healers, who were taking care of the people who had fallen unconscious
"What should we do with him?" Xue asked Isac, who muttered
"Let's quickly knock him out and then fight eachover."
Xue nodded, bringing out a fan, while Isac took out a scythe
the scythe was strange, however. as it was entirely plant-based, with magic runes enchanted on them.
the same runes could be seen on Xue's fan, causing the boy to look at them and grumble
Runes. there is what made magic weapons, well, magical.
A gust of wind appeared from Xue as she flapped her large fan, shooting a wind blade at the boy, who jumped up in the air and threw two needles aimed at her pressure points
two vines came out of Isac's scythe and neutralized it while he ran towards the boy, who didn't close the distance between them.
he wasn't good with close combat, so the boy quickly threw a dozen poison needles and dodged backwards, causing the crowd to boo
"Despicable! I want to see a real fight!"
"Yeah, the forest god doesn't need cowards!"
the boy ignored them , before continuing to run around the temple and throw countless needles
only one poison needle hit Isac, but it put a timer on the boy, causing Elias to stall him out
after 5 minutes or so, the incredibly potent poison entered his bloodstream and knocked him out.
if Isac wasn't trained against poison, he wouldn't last more than one minute against it
now it was Elias vs Xue , which made the latter sigh
Xue was extremely good at wind magic, being praised as a prodigy by her clan and given most resources.
but nobody had made her as excited as this boy.
she was always looked down upon for being a girl and looking kind and nice , but all she wanted was a good battle without being taken easy on.
this boy didn't care about her gender nor her status, causing her to show a battle-hungry expression a maiden like wouldn't normally show.
some people in the crowd thought it was unsightly, and her own father even gave a frown looking at her. but she didn't care.
the boy threw needles at her , of which she sent back with her long fan , who's runes lit up in a splendid light
the boy noticed it and realised that a normal needle wouldn't be able to break through it, so after some decision making, the boy ran to the unconscious body of Isac, who was frothing out of the mouth as the boy picked up his scythe and started wavering it around
the scythe quickly adapted to his size and weight, causing the boy to nod
he understood the function of the scythe and its limitations instantly, as he rushed to Xue
the latter instantly throw a couple of wind blades to the boy, who used his scythe to make a shield of vines, which he used to neutralize the large gust of wind that attempted to blow him back.
he was going to win, no matter what.
