Chapter 6

It was morning and I was refreshed from my yesterday's battle with the big arachnid. I have my troops ready and all I need is a game plan. (I have a shelter but it easy to attack) I thought to myself while thinking of how to best defend my new home. I start looking at the trees coming up with an idea.

What if I build up wooden walls in between the trees. If I do this, then my home would be more defendable and by cutting down the trees near us would make more room for us to live in. I start giving out orders to my soldiers to start taking down trees and I sent a pair of them to scout the area for anything interesting.

While they do that, I take a quick look at my status.

It would seem that every time I level up all of my stats go up by one. It was then I realized that the spider's legs would not be able to cut through the thick trees. Seeing them having trouble cutting the trees I order them to stop. It was then I felt my connection to the pair I sent out to scout have been severed. Thinking it's more spider I look up at the trees.

I waited with my spear ready to stab while looking at the trees. It was then I heard rustling behind us. Turning around quickly as I could I came face to face with a different creature. It had axe like blades on each side of its head. It stood taller almost near the tree's highest branch. It had two short arms, and its legs were covered in a kind of bone like armor.

Seeing this I order all of my soldiers to swarm the beast. The beast through its head back and roared "RRRRARARARARAA".

Two of them ran straight at the beast and died when it flung its head right at them. The blades on its head cut one in half and the other one had its head cut right off. I snuck right around it while the three soldiers that I had left used the spider's legs to poke at it. While it was distracted, I jump on its back thrusting the spear right through its chest killing it.

Taking a breather and getting confused at not getting a quest notification that it was completed. Feeling that something was wrong I felt something stick to my back and I was flung into a tree. Looking up in the direction of what flung me I saw a spider attacking my soldiers. Getting back up but feeling my back stuck to the tree I turned around to see some webbing on my back connected to the tree.

Acting as fast as I could I started to cut the webbing with my spear mean while my soldiers were fighting the spider. They each had a spider leg to use as a weapon. The spider thinking it would be an easy fight moved to the ground but that's where it mess up. My soldiers seeing it move for the ground they run to dog pile it while using the makeshift weapons to stab its body.

Finally cutting myself loose I turn back to the fight to see that they actually managed to kill it. They stood on top of its corpse while making a croaking type of noise like cheer. Sighing in relief that nobody died to the spider I get some reassurance that there are no more enemy's attacking us through the quest notification.

Seeing what I got I check my status.

Seeing that I got crafting and spear mastery as a skill I was also glad at such luck by getting spear mastery as a random skill for the reward. I got to work by trying to cut off the axe like attachments on the creature's head to turn into crude axes later while having my three remaining soldiers to go cut off the spider's legs. When I finally got the axe like limbs from the head my children also brought over the spider's body.

Using my tongue and the arachnid's body to replenish my numbers and so while my back grew heavy, I got to work on making the axes. While using the spiders webbing to hold the axe blade to a sturdy stick. I handed off the axes to my kin telling them to go cut down trees.
