Chapter 29: Hak Town Pt. 2

As soon Liza and Scarlett entered Hak, they were immediately stared at by many wondering eyes. Some were obviously shocked, some were curious, while others were kneeling suspicious. The town folks watched while chatter grew between themselves.

"Is that really Scarlett? I thought she was dead,"

"Whose that person she's with? They definitely don't seem human,"

"Why is she here? Why did she bring that THING here?"

Gossip spiral as Scarlett and Liza continued to walk to the town's only inn.

"Thing? Do they think I'm some animated object?" Liza grumbled silently.

"Are you alright? Mas--" before Scarlett could finish her sentence, Liza immediately cuts her off.

"Don't! If you call me that in public, people will definitely ask questions," Liza said sternly.

Scarlett gulped nervously. "Then how should I address you? Truly, you don't expect me to call you Mr. goblin,"

"Actually... do call me that," Liza said with a calm expression.

"What? But why?" Scarlett questioned.

"Because I got a excusable backstory to go along with it," Liza smirked before they finally reached to the inn.

The inn was a three story tall building, it was tallest building in town besides the town hall. When Liza entered through the door, she'd immediately covered her nose from putrid stench a looming through the inside of the building.

"What is that smell?" Liza groaned.

"It's probably the adventurers," Scarlett said bluntly, as lazily gaze at the ragged men who glared at them.

As they walked up to the central counter, there stood a tall elf woman who smiled brightly.

"Hello! How may I help you two today?" she spoke cheerfully with a angelic voice.

Liza held back her smirk, so not to give out the wrong impression. 'This woman... is definitely a cold-hearted b****, HA!'

"Hello there, we're just here to just exchange some items today thank you," Scarlett said with her own cheerful voice.

Liza looks down to see Scarlett's hand are clenched into fists. Liza sighed before she patted Scarlett's arm.

Scarlett turned her gaze down towards her master. Her master shook his head, Scarlett then figured out what her master just suggested to. Scarlett shifted her gaze around the other adventures surrounding the inn and huffed.

'It would be inconvenient if we had to fight them all, I guess I'll back off for now,' Scarlett thought as she releases her fists into her flat palms.

Liza than sigh of relief, before she brought out some monster deer fur. The woman eyes widen, along with every adventurer who saw.

"Pardon me, but could you possibly account of how much will these coat cost? If you be so kindly," Liza said in her most polite and humanistic voice she could muster.

"Of course!" the woman said, slightly surprised by Liza's low voice.

The woman took the monster deer fur away, it took a minute before she came back with a sack of coins.

"Here you go~" the woman said with a flirty tone of voice.

Liza held back her huffed. 'Don't you even think about it you b****!'

Liza nudged Scarlett, Scarlett was then about to take the pouch of coins before the woman stopped her.

"Please filled this form out before you take out your award. You can understand why, right?" the woman said with mocking smirk.

"Of course," Scarlett said with a happy voice, while she held the pen firmly as she wrote down on the sheets of paper.

"So... where are you from?" the woman said to Liza.

Scarlett felt a vain popped out of her forehead while wrote aggressively. 'YOU SON OF A FAT FEEDING FLYING #$%^&*$! ##&^$#$! #$^*$#&$&! #$%^&*$! ##&^$#$! #$^*$#&$&!--'

Liza kept her face covered as she spoke bluntly. "No where special, I was raised in the wild,"

"Oh~" the woman cooed.

'Don't act like your actually interested! I'm well aware that you only want is the money, so shut your mouth and F*** OFF!' Liza cursed in her head.

"What race are you? I've never seen anything like you before," the woman asked with curious.

Liza then felt it again, the feeling of being watch.

"APPRAISAL BLOCK ACTIVATED"

'I knew it!' Liza mentally said to herself.

The elf woman tried to use Appraisal on Liza, however she failed. The woman then expressed a confused look.

Liza thought intensely, as she kept her glare downwards. 'She's going to be suspicious of me, but what of it. Although, there's no doubt she'll ask me again. Telling her the truth is not a option, however, if I lie. She'll probably get more curious of me. so...'

"I'm a half-elf," Liza simply said, and the woman eyes widen slightly.

'This way, I'm not telling the complete truth but I'm not lying either,'

"An half-elf? May I ask what's your other half?" the woman said while she tried to take a glimpse underneath Liza's hood.

"I don't know, all I know that I'm only half-elf and that's it," Liza said.

"Oh~ that's strange. Do you want to talk some--" before the woman could finish, Scarlett slammed the pen into the counter and shoved the papers into the woman's face.

"I'm done. I believe we can leave now, yes?" Scarlett said with enthusiastic voice before taking the bag of coins.

"Let's go," Liza said bluntly.

"Wait!" the woman said with panic in her voice.

"What?" Liza and Scarlett spat as they both glared at the woman.

The woman went speechless, as she saw the two walk away before halted by some adventures.
