Entry into the Mansion

These days, the Tomar Mansion was bustling with so much activity. From cleaning the mansion to decorating it, work was underway with great enthusiasm. The kitchen staffs were busy preparing so many delicious dishes. Urmila Devi wasn't present there herself, but she had given strict orders that there should be no shortcomings in welcoming Virat. After all, her elder son was returning to India after years. Virat was currently abroad, deeply involved in setting up his preserved food factories and pharmaceutical companies there. Now that everything was running smoothly there, Yashraj wanted his son to come back and start managing his business in his homeland, so he could be free of his responsibilities.

When Lucky reached the mansion It was already started to getting dark. The security was indeed tight as KK explained to her. The mansion looked less like a house and more like a fortress. Guards armed with large guns were stationed all around.

"What kind of attack is expected here that they've stationed an entire army? It seems like preparations are going on for the war between India and Pakistan." Lucky looked at the entire mansion in distress. There was no way to get inside for her.

"It's going to be difficult to get inside like this. I need to think of another way," Lucky glanced at the card KK had given to her. It has number of his trusted man, Aniket. He told her to meet him once she reached the mansion and He would help her in every way possible. Lucky took out her phone and dialed Aniket's number, but before the call could connect, the phone turned off with a beep.

"Just great... Now the phone is dead. How am I supposed to contact him? Looks like I'll have to figure out a way to get inside on my own."

There was only one large iron gate for entry into the mansion. But two security guards were visible there. Suddenly, the gate opened, and a car exited. She stood there watching the movements and planning to get in. A little while later, a mini truck filled with goods approached. The truck stopped near the gate. This was the opportunity Lucky was waiting for. She took advantage of the darkness and quietly slipped into back of the truck, hiding herself among the goods. The driver stepped out to show his pass to the guards. After checking the pass, the guards took a look at the back of the truck, where large boxes of groceries were visible. They opened the gate, and the truck entered without any hindrance. The truck stopped in front of a large storeroom. As soon as it stopped, Lucky quickly got out. This was probably the back part of the mansion. The security here was less. Before the driver could come out and see her, she quickly hide behind a wall. Seeing an open window on one side, she jumped through it into the mansion.

"Thank goodness there are no gunmen roaming inside. This place has no difference from the President's House. KK was right It's really difficult to steal anything from here. But here I am... I will take that file from here by all means. After all, it's a matter of my two crores. But first, I need to charge my phone so I could contact that Aniket." Lucky started looking for a place where she could charge her phone. But the mansion was more of a labyrinth than a house. There were so many rooms and corridors that she couldn't figure out where to go. Wandering around, she finally came to a large courtyard-like area.

"Don't worry, Mr. Aniket... As long as we're here, not even a bird can flap its wings in this palace. I know You guys are capable enough, but still, I'll send my team. There will be many VIPs at Mr. Virat's welcome party. It's our duty to protect them all."

Aniket?? Hearing this name, Lucky almost jumped out of her skin. She quickly turned towards the direction of the voice. She hadn't expected to find him so easily. But the very next moment, she felt as if her breath stuck into her throat. The person Standing with Aniket was none other than Police Inspector Pritam Chaddha. Aniket's back was towards Lucky, and Chaddha was standing right in front of him. Fortunately, he hadn't noticed her presence yet. Before he could see her, Lucky rushed into a room near by. But to her bad luck, they were also heading in that direction while talking. Lucky couldn't understand what Pritam Chaddha was doing there. But there was no time to think for her. She went inside the room which led her to a corridor lined with bathrooms. I was probably the staff area. Lucky opened one of the doors and went inside.

"Oh god...! That was close. Today, Chaddha almost caught me. If he remain here, it will be difficult for me to even get out. Whether anyone else recognizes me or not, he will recognize me in just a glance. So before he caught and throw me into the jail, I must somehow take that blue file and get out of here."

"Who let the dogs out... Bhow...bhow...bhow...Bhow!"

Suddenly, she gets startled by a song sung in an off-key voice. She concentrated on it and felt that it was coming from the other side of the wall. In fact, all the bathrooms were connected to each other, separated only by the walls in between. However, since the walls weren't very high, the sound from the other side was coming very loud and clear. In no time, the person on the other side hung his clothes on the wall and turned on the shower. The sound of the water started echoing. Also The guy continued ruining Baha Men's songs. On the other side Lucky was getting headache after listening his singing. She glanced at the mirror and started splashing water on her face. As she wiped her face with a towel, her eyes fell on the clothes hanging on the wall, and a crooked smile suddenly appeared on her lips. Without wasting a moment, she snatched the clothes from the wall. She took out her makeup kit from the bag and quickly got to work. A while later, when she looked at herself in the mirror, she couldn't even recognize herself. Dressed in a turban and men's clothes, she looked just like a dashing Punjabi guy.

"Welcome to the mission... Mr. Lakhvinder Singh aka Lucky." Lucky praised herself.

She opened the bathroom door and her heart skipped a bit because Preetam Chaddha was standing there. But seeing that Chaddha had no reaction, she felt relieved and just admired her own makeup skills which saved her from going behind the bars. There was no doubt that she had changed her appearance excellently.

"Hello sardar ji... If you don't mind, may I..." He gestured towards the bathroom.

"Oh, not at all, consider it as your own home," Lucky replied immediately, showing her perfect teeth. "But what are you doing here in Jaipur? Weren't you posted in Ludhiana?"

Hearing her question, Preetam Chaddha stopped in his tracks. "Do you know me?"

"Know you?? Ah, what are you talking... I am the biggest fan of yours. Just never got the chance to meet you. I can't even say it in words how overjoyed I am to see you here in Jaipur today. I feels like I am so lucky." Lucky buttered him up with her response. Seeing that a cunning policeman like Preetam Chaddha hadn't recognized her yet, Lucky's confidence soared up high.

"I am really flatterd. But please don't ask about my transfer here. It's really a long story." Chaddha replied in a sad tone.

"Why sir ji? What happened?" Lucky asked putting some concern in her tone.

"All these started with a little thief girl. she is really being a thorn in my work. Even my entire team failed to catch her And in anger, the commissioner transferred us here in Jaipur. I am just paying the price of someone else's crime." Chaddha ground his teeth in anger. "I swear if that thief ever falls into my hands... I'll make her pay with her life..."

Lucky's throat began to dry up. Chaddha was already harboring resentment against her. If he found out that the man in front of him is Lucky, he would surely dig her grave right here in this mansion.

"Hey man! What are you doing here? Haven't you gone to the kitchen yet? It's almost time for the masters to arrive. When will you cook dinner?"

Chaddha and Lucky both turned their eyes towards the direction of the voice. There stood a plump man, looking right at them. He was wearing a white chef's shirt. By his looks, he seemed to be around forty-five to fifty years old.

"What are you looking here and there for? I've been searching you all around for so long that my feet started hurting now and here you're gossiping others?"

He flared up again, and only then did Lucky realize that he was calling out to her.

"Are you talking to me?" she asked, surprised.

"Holly Molly crap... Who else? Do you think i'll ask Inspector Sahib to go to the kitchen and cook dinner? Even the five-star hotels send such dumb chefs these days."

Lucky then looked at her clothes and only than she realized that she was wearing the chef's attire. That means, the person who is in the bathroom is actually the chef sent by the five-star hotel. And now, Lucky had to go to the kitchen and cook in his place? But she didn't even know to boil the water. How she will suppose to cook the dinner for vip guests?
