Chapter 13: House Arrest

Ylana POV

How was it that Rowan hadn’t realized he was getting on her nerves?

After the shock of the elevator falling wore off, the next thought that hit Ylana’s mind was that she was never going to have a moment to herself ever again. This was nothing like the bookcase falling, after all. There was no doubt that an attempt on someone’s life had been made. Ylana still wasn’t convinced it was her life that was in danger, but that was the preferred theory of all the Garnets.

Then Harkin told Rowan to never leave her side. There was no doubt in Ylana’s mind that Rowan would take that literally. He even had the audacity to act like it was a good thing.

Rowan immediately started moving his things into the suite. It was at least a relief that he didn’t try to redecorate. He also started having Rebecca add food to the kitchen in the suite. Ylana didn’t understand that one – neither of them cooked well. Rebecca had only taught Ylana the simplest things.
