The Gamer: The Path of Sloth

What happens when one of the laziest people in the universe gets the Gamer System.... [Skill Granted: Sleep] [Skill Granted: Boredom Resistance] [Skill Granted: Auto-Clean] I'm still very new at this whole writing thing, so don't expect too much. Feel free to leave suggestions and/or requests going forward. There are going to be a lot of different fantasy worlds put loosely together by the plot of the story. I own nothing but the characters I create.

Time and a Half Doesn't Apply to Babies

(5 months later)

The journey to being lazy is a long and daunting. There is a constant internal struggle between what you want to do and what you MUST do. When to train and when to sleep. When to strain and when to eat. Now that I'm done complaining, I can begin explaining. Okay, I'll stop with the rhymes.

I've made lots of progress in these past few months. Due to the system, I heal every time I sleep in a bed. This means that my growth is exponentially faster than that of other children. Although my STR and AGI stats are still locked, I can still improve them by "exercising."

I can now walk on my own, but running is still impossible without falling on my face. What? That's dangerous you say? I'll tell you what's dangerous! Going anywhere near my sister when she's excited. The little monster doesn't know her own strength!

"Taida! Lets go and play!"

A little blonde girl with a blue bowtie too big for her head yells at her little brother. They had gotten to know each other over the last 2 months they've known each other. She was somehow able to decipher what the infant was saying when he made those strange "Bah!" noises. Much to Mari's chagrin as she too wanted to get closer with the new baby in the house. Even though she can cast spells and speak a language she spoke in her past life, she couldn't understand what the child was saying.

Maya picks up the baby very "carefully" and sprints towards the living room. Just barley making the infant's head miss the door frame on the way in. She pounces over the back of the couch with a simple hop, and lands "softly" on the couch cushions. She sits him down on the soft cushion next to her, blindly trusting he wouldn't fall over.

Mari is away at work for the day, so it's just the two siblilings and an irresponsible babysitter that decided to take a nap, leaving them unattended.

"Taida! What should we do!?"

"Bah?" 'take a nap?'

"But you just took a nap! You've slept enough, lets play with Legos!"

*Yaaaaaawn* "Bah..." 'ok...'

"Yes! I'll be right back!" she zooms out of the room, leaving the the 3 month old with his oversized head bobbing back and forth, struggling to keep sitting up straight.

She ran back at full speed carrying a box of Legos that was half the size of her body. The boy almost fell off the couch as she slammed into the cushion next to his. As he was recovering from that near death situation, she picked him up again and put him on the floor.

"Let's play! What should we build?"

"BahBah" 'A bed'

"You're silly! We're gonna build a house!"

I almost died that day, and due to me being able to heal after sleeping a bit, Mari didn't find out. I can't speak on my own yet and Maya... she's smart enough to know not to snitch on herself. Speaking of her, she knows I'm not some run of the mill baby either. I made her promise to keep it between us for now. I still don't know how she can understand me but I digress.

I'd say this is good progress, but I don't know how these stats compare to the strength of others. I tried to obtain the observe skill, but hasn't really been working out. My theory is that the system can't get information outside of what I can gather with my senses. It's too bad I haven't had any luck with getting Clairvoyance. It would help out a lot in the information department.

In other news, I finally found out a few things about this world. My new mom takes me out for walks around the city a few times a week. I was able to get a good bit of information.

First, Mari is apparently called a Savior. They go around killing metaphysicals when they pop up. I'm not yet familiar with how their abilities work. Before my new mom became the principal at Akane Academy, she was working for the White Knight Order's North American Branch. She was called over due to the increased monster/metaphysical activity, and that's how she ended up finding me.

Second, we live on a group of super floats called Itogami Island. A marvel of technology that's located approximately 330km east of Tokyo, Japan. If you're wondering how I know that, it's because of the new map feature in my system. It gives me a general world map and local maps for places I've been.

Third, the majority of the people on this island are not normal people. The lowest level I've seen since coming here was a level ten Vampire's Thrall. This doesn't exactly bode well for me. I can't get a good nights sleep if I feel like I'm in danger, so I upped my training a bit. much to my displeasure.

That's the gist of what I could gather. At the very least, I have a good idea about my current situation, but I don't have enough information to have a concrete plan for the future. The only thing I can train are my magical abilities. I've made some decent progress...

As you can see, I've been very busy. Speaking of, I'm currently taking a break by walking around my house and humming a song. I stop as I come across a room I haven't entered yet. This is Mari's office; she usually keeps this door closed. I decide to enter since I have nothing else to do.

I open the door with some difficulty due to my height, but I managed to open the door, barely. Looking around, my eyes land on a large desk near the back of the room with stacks of documents chaotically spread across it. Books were strewn across the floor, leaving only a small path to the desk. I walk forward while carefully avoiding any books in my way. I make my way to the chair situated near the desk and jump into it. My eyes land on a book in the center of the desk...

Introduction to The Ancestral Arts: The Basics of Light Arts and Dark Arts

It was a thick textbook with illustrations of a knight in armor and a witch shooting a ball of fire. It looked interesting so I opened it only to get a notification...
