Julie looked at the situation in front of her in shock. Well, she wasn't necessarily shocked, but she liked to play it up a little as of lately. Enemies got sloppy at the panicked looks the usually calm and confident Headmistress made.
After all, everyone liked it when the villain got their due. So they wanted to savor the expressions. That had already cost the life of one Legendary Vampire and a Holy Cardinal who was on the edge of entering Legendary Rank.
In battle Mana couldn't be wasted, so she did everything within her power to kill her opponents with minimum Mana consumption. After all, even for a Legendary Rank Mage, wars last for years, and one can't suddenly fight an enemy and lose because of lack of Mana, that wouldn't be good at all, many 'smart' mages had died that way.
Still, as the golden clouds covered the sky, Mana burst out of her body in volumes that had never been used before in decades. A red staff appeared on her hand with a handle that seemed to be made of serpentine dark wood. At the tip of the staff was a very dark blue round gem. This was the core of the old Sea God Poseidon.
This was a Mythical Artifact made by the best components and its creator was Julie herself. So her compatibility with the staff is something that Alex was unlikely to ever reach with his Ice Goddess Wand… mostly because he wasn't an Ice Mage.
Still, though, Julie waved her staff once and a giant dark blue magic circle at the size of the forest appeared.
{Cursed Water of the Endless Ocean}
BOOOOM!!!
A gigantic beam of dark water came out of the magic circle. The water had a stench of sweet corruption, anything that it touched was cursed.
This was the special ability of her Legendary Class… She was a Cursed Water Mage. Water Mages weren't known for their strong attack power, but there are exceptions to every rule, and Julie was undoubtedly an exception.
Alex knew that if even one drop of that dark water hit his skin, and he would be around 50% weaker, even a Legendary Mage would be weakened by that. As for Warriors of such level, well, Alex could confidently say that even 50 Legendary Warriors would be able to do anything to Julie. That was just how much she countered them with her ability.
Just like Alex would be countered by Necromancers who use Skeletons, though to a lesser degree, since Blood Mages don't have such an obvious weakness.
He took out his Ice Wand and with a wave created a blue translucent barrier around himself, Lily, and Pork.
"Well, we need to get out of here. Sadly due to the heavy Mana residues in the air, Teleportation would be a poor idea." Alex inputted, looking at Lily with a side glance. She didn't seem to have a reaction at this, and even while she saw Julie do something so extravagant… Lily wasn't fazed.
'She has lost her emotion of fear.' Alex was immediately able to tell what had happened to her. But he kept quiet, the forest around him darkening as he looked towards the village that he had grown up in.
Though he can't see the place, he knew that it would be destroyed after today. Still, he didn't care too much about it, so he shrugged as his Mana covered Lily, Pork, and himself. They all shot up out in a bright light and moved away at incredible speeds.
His job was done here, he got Pork and trapped Julie against an enemy that heavily countered her.
..
..
Suddenly out of the golden clouds descended a woman covered in a simple white robe. She had blonde hair that seemed to be so gold-colored once could mistake it for the expensive metal. Her body proportioned was perfect, the way she seemed, it was as if a Goddess had descended.
That wasn't too far from the truth, Julie even laughed while she saw it. "Damn, that Alex… how in the hell did he get in touch with someone like you."
Looking at the Goddesses' eyes made her mind start contemplating some things. 'Was this right? I have ruined so many people's lives, so many children have been ruined in my plans… for what? Mostly nothing, everything that was sacrificed for will be gone by now.'
...
-Julie I (Headmistress)-
Julie never felt something so strange, her mind was thinking of things she never thought of before.
The Magic Academy that she had spent hundreds of years perfecting, the greatest Magic Institution in the world. Power, she had gained so much power from the place that any mage that had any success came from Magic Academy, their roots would always be there.
'Though they still didn't even offer assistance when their 'dear' academy was getting overwhelmed by monsters and religious zealots.' Julie wasn't happy at this, but her heart started giving up on some grand plans due to the sacrifices that would be made due to it.
Suddenly her eyes widened. 'What?! These thoughts?! Why am I thinking like this?!'
Julie found it strange, she never thought like this and her eyes narrowed in suspicion at the Goddess in front of her. 'Ariel, also known as the Goddess of Purity, Healing, Water, Holy Power, Justice, Virtue, etc… is her divinity affecting me?'
"Oh, so you do have a conscience after all." Said Ariel in the sky, she seemed to stand in the air. "Well, soon enough you will see the truth. Someone of your caliber would be good to have under my command."
"Shut up!" Julie yelled out defiance, but immediately she stopped in shock. No longer was she acting angry to let her enemy underestimate her, this time she truly felt angry. Someone like her being angry was illogical.
On the other hand, Ariel only smirked at her knowingly. "If people were more honest with their feelings, the world would be a better place. That's a world I wouldn't mind living in."
"Like you know anything! All you Gods, living in the divine realm. Looking at our worries with nothing more than amusement. Our success, pain, deeds, all of them are amusement to you. Like a play, whether tragic or not, all that matters is entertainment!" Julie's rant was heard by the goddess with a patient smile on her face.
"Yes, I understand what you mean. I also agree with you," Ariel nodded, "Back in my days, there was belief of only one God existing, he was Omnipotent and Omnipresent. Though such tales had never been confirmed, many believe it. For a fair world, I will take the empty throne that laid in the Heavens."
Julie was about to respond, her usually calm feelings being ignited once again. But that all came to an end once she broke eye contact with the woman in the white robe.
At that moment, her clarity came to her, when before it felt like she was in a dream, unable to move from anywhere and even her actions were uncontrollable… now she felt like she could think clearly at last.
But it wasn't for long as the golden clouds suddenly turned into water that glistered like the sun and it came towards her with a flicker of Ariel's hand.
In that instant, Julie created over a hundred magic circles. Out of them came different creatures made from cursed water that seemed like a dark fog.
"You seem to be quite strong. No wonder some of the other Gods couldn't handle you when they came to the mortal realm." Ariel smiled, the look in her eyes seemed like she was talking to a child.
Julie smiled, not looking the Goddess in the eyes anymore. "Oh, what can I say… some people like to think of themselves as special when they are not."
"That is true." Ariel agreed with a knowing smirk on her face.
