CHAPTER 4:

"What the hell did you get yourself in, Kingsley?" Minus my sister blowing up at the other end of the room, I actually had fun remembering how awkward that day went. I don't remember sleeping that night from the shock of the events that happened that evening. We stared at each other near the fire, and heard as flames flickering in the silent atmosphere.

"I haven't understood a single word you've said, honestly." I told her and I could see the confusion in her expression as she inched closer to me. Slower and slower until she was only inches away from me. I tried to not notice, but it was merely impossible, and I watched as her mouth parted and she spoke in a husky tone.

"Then how exactly am I supposed to make you understand, human?...Let's not go there first, I need to know something."

[shit] "What do you want to know?" I asked backing away from her. Something was a bit off from the way she smiled at me at that moment.

"Do you know what nine tailed foxes come to do when they look for mortal men?" I went blank, because I had never bothered on myths from a long time ago, why should I? I don't believe in the supernatural after all. "I guess you don't so I can just tell you, we can come to consume your body...or your spirit. But that's not why I approached you, I will be turning 1000 very soon, and become a heavenly celestial, and in addition get my ninth tail, which we are supposed to get for free."

"Nikita how does this involve a human like me? If I may ask you with due respect." I asked as I stared back at her, intently.

"Where I come from, I was accused of an unforgiving crime. So to pay off my brutality, I have to prove my worth to humans in your world and if I am seen fit I can return for my transformation, back at my home. That is where you come in, I ask that you let me stay with you in the meantime." I remember my eyes twitching like crazy and I was about to punch something, this was something big you were dropping on a freshman, it made no sense at all.

"Sorry to look like the bad guy here, but no. I have just began life on my own and I don't know if I can provide for you and myself at the same time with my part time job." I said and noticed the void expression on her face returning. She looked around her and then eyed me from head to toe.

"I don't mean to pry, but you're living in luxury for what I can see so why use your financial statistics on me to try to get rid of me. If you're living here all alone, surely there's room for one more?" She said as her eyes grew affectionate. Obviously I wasn't heartless to want to turn her down, but I was being serious.

"How I got this house is a long story, I didn't buy it and I'm not rich, so there you have it. But since I can't just leave you out here, so you can stay with me until I get your situation handled."

"Carino, gracias. Oh, I found out about the language when I first came here, so..." She said tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Wow.

"Touche.[laughs] Then I hope you get along. One more thing though don't tell anyone else about you, humans will think you're bonkers so keep it a secret that only I know, I hope you understand." she laughed then nodded. That's when she turned to ho and sleep, even after all that time sleeping, she was till tired. After she left, he took out his phone and called upon his google assistant.

"Google, what does Carino mean in espanol?" I asked..

"Carino, a phrase used in espanol to mean sweet heart, usually used with loved ones..." I heard the assistant say.

"Sweetheart, huh."
