""How do you like your new place? My genius can clearly be seen in my choice of living space." Cash said as I grunted. The apartment was a bit much but, at least I wasn't paying rent. It was a penthouse really, much more than an apartment.
Cash was thirty two at the moment and bathing in money at the time. He and I have been best friends for as long as I can possible remember. He had saved me from being hit by a car once and I owe him my life. Frankly, I think he spoils me rotten instead of the other way around. He thinks of me as a brother he had never had, and what we had just felt natural.
"I can't live here. By myself?! You're crazy, this is too much, bro." I said as I heard him laugh loudly on the phone. I joined in on the laughter for no reason at all, as I dried my hair from the shower.
"Unlike you, I have a job and I like taking care of my little bro. I paid for it so you could focus on your studies, you finally got the university you wanted, what more could I pressure you for?" He said as I sighed and thanked him again and again. He said he had an urgent call to take and we bid each other goodbye. I looked around in the meantime.
An indoor swimming pool, twelve rooms along with master sixed bathrooms, a huge island kitchen and a spectacular view in the heart of England, London. Cash was right i had all these luxuries, the least I could do was study till I drop." Kingsley said as Ivy stared at him as if she was trying to bore holes through his forehead.
"Why did you stop?" She asked him straightening her back in the chair. He sighed and shot her a suspicious look. Looking completely unamused, she flicked his forehead to get rid of that smug look on his face. "Hey, go on, this pausing in the middle of the story is pissing me off." Ivy said to him.
"That night obviously, I was trying to get comfy and so I popped a bottle and got myself drunk silly. I really hadn't intended to be stupid and I had school the next week, but apparently and sadly it happened. I don't remember much from that night, but there's a part I can never forget, at first I thought I was really high, unfortunately...Normally, I was living by myself and at the time I was in the bathroom, everything was weirdly quiet.
I wasn't feeling so good and I went to the bathroom for a while. That's when I noticed the disturbing silence lingering all over the place. My first thought is that the damn place was haunted and I was going to skip, a child's thought, but you can't blame me I was creeped out." Ivy stared at him with a void expression that spelled out ' I never asked for your emotional status'. This girl.
"So, things get creeper, classic horror movie tactic yeah? I thought those kind of things never existed. I got out of the bathroom, and without any kind of warning the lights go off and the place becomes completely dark except for the city lights from my million dollar view. At first, I laughed, Cash was being real funny, but he wouldn't hurt me, and he knows how much I hate ghost shit. I laughed and flicked the light switch, but they didn't respond.
In a matter of two minutes, max, they came back, like nothing had happened and I was spooked like hell. I was going to kill that S.O.B no doubt about it. If this was a prank, no one was laughing, Is what I told myself. I stood in one spot for a while and thought to myself, 'if I move my stuff in another part of the country Cash would never know'. I was nineteen, I was stupid, but FYI I never did it.
I remembered that when we were younger, mom and dad would tell us stories by the fireplace, so that was a perfect way to calm down. I walked for almost ten minutes trying to find it. That's why I complained about having a ridiculously large place, I didn't need this. I saw the flicker of orange from a fireplace near the window, I felt a surge of relief come over me, and I walked over to it slowly to enjoy some peace and quiet...NOT.
"Ivy, what I am about to tell you...you can handle it right?" She nodded and leaned foward. He took a deep breath and shrugged his shoulder.
"I walked over to the fireplace and noticed a shadow. I stopped midway and worked up solutions in my head. Maybe I should have done what I should have in the beginning, get the hell away from there. After a while I noticed that the figure wasn't moving and looked more like it was breathing. I couldn't make out the figure, so I was like fuck it, and I walked towards it, from the edge of the chair, I could see a pair of feet, feet?! I asked myself, had someone broken in? It didn't look like it though.
I ended up lifting my head and saw the rest of the body, before I gasped. I really can't explain what I but maybe I was crazy, but what I saw was a woman. She was lying on her side, her back facing the fireplace and the front facing me. She had a kind of feminine figure I thought I would ever see in real life. She had red hair, like original red haired genes. Just to add she also had weird stuff."
"Would you like to emphasize on the weird stuff my dear brother?" Ivy asked tapping his shoulder.
"She had a tail coming right from her skin, and her skin was smooth and glistening, no doubt about that, but her ears, they looked like dog ears. Obviously, I was freaked and backed off, but I could not turn my face away, apart from the extra ordinary, she was breathtaking."
"How did you know that the tail was coming from her skin directly?" Ivy asked.
"She was naked and on my floor duh." He replied with a smug look on his face.
"You pervert!!!!"
