I had just given away a part of me, that I will never be able to get back. Those earrings were given to me, during a time when Yasmine and my grandma were both still alive. The only thing I had brought with me, from the castle, that meant something. It took everything in me not to break down and give up at this very moment.
Caleb held onto me as I cried and latched onto him. He’s been the only thing keeping me together. I trusted him, and he trusted me. I don’t know what I feel between us, but something is there. He never gave up on me, so why would I give up now?
We began walking again in search of Caleb’s friend, who should be nearby. I don’t know how to make a good first impression, while I’m still trying to recover from losing my earrings.
“That should be his car over there, we should get going,” Caleb pointed down the road.
“Wait…what should my name be for when I meet your friend?” I asked.
“What do you want it to be?” Caleb questioned.
