Consequences

I woke up early the next morning, feeling the aftermath of my ordeal from last night heavy on my mind. Before starting my shift at the library, i decided to make a quick visit to the Crossroad Inn. The information he had gleaned the previous night from the gathering had left me with more questions than answers about Eldritch world, and i hoped that the assistant boy at the inn might provide further clarity in matter of jasmines death.

The inn was like always without any activity, as i approached, it was eerily quiet. The door was locked, and the windows were shut tight. A pang of unease shot through me. I knew the inn was often closed for brief periods, but something about the stillness today seemed off.

Determined not to leave empty-handed, i made my way to the house behind the inn where the owner, an elderly man, lived. The narrow path to the house was overgrown, and the garden was in disarray, reflecting the neglect of the property.
