The First Spacial Mage

Alex is excited, he was finally able to control an element like every other magician. however, his control is too weak and thus he won’t show it to anyone until he meets the standards. Growth (Green)

I'm getting better at controlling this now.

At this point in my life, very little happened, but when it did, it was always something important. Sifting through it all is getting easier for me now.

A week had gone by, and I had made a lot of progress.

In the forest, I could be seen rapidly changing directions, thanks to my good control over my spacial energy and a little ingenuity.

'Just by rotating the angle of the blades, I was able to increase the effectiveness of this technique. People would go crazy knowing that I could fly.' I thought as I lifted off the ground for a moment.

'I was lucky my control was good before trying that. I can't imagine trying to land a week ago.'

I chuckled while dispelling my magic. 'If it weren't for me wanting to copy wind, I wouldn't have such a simple way to fly. I'm pretty sure I can fly without it, though.' I thought while wrapping a fallen branch with spacial magic.

A moment later, it was lifted off the ground.

Bark fell from it as spacial energy cut through it like it was already paper.

I sighed while putting the branch down. 'very useful, but it'll be a while before I can use it freely.'

'I'd better go home.'

I picked up my newly cut planks from the branch and left.

I slept well for the past while, considering what I had gone through.

However, that night, when I woke up, I had a bad fever, my strength was gone, and I couldn't eat without throwing up.

It was as if I had been secretly making a day that should have been special terrible by compromising my own immune system. For some reason, I had allotted these set of days as my one time of the year to release some sadness into the world which in turn shut down my immune system.

I only missed two days of school before being healthy again. Lucky.

Surprisingly my grandmother had sent me a pair of socks for my birthday.

If only I knew, perhaps I wouldn't have felt bitters grasp so constantly.

——————

Two years had passed, and I was sitting in science class when the teacher said something that gave me a brief moment of enlightenment.

The teacher spoke about butterflies and how instead of being certain colors, they have microscopic patterns which absorb and reflect different colors of light.

It clicked into place with what Drak had said to me.

'Its only cosmetic.'

I had spent a few weeks at the public library copying all the patterns I could find in books about butterflies. Some of the librarians must've thought I was an animal fanatic.

I then spent the next few afternoons in my room with the door locked.

I made the energy take shape, and while doing so, I imagined a specific pattern repeating across the energy. He watched as the energy became visible. It was a bright blue.

I was surprised at first because it was visible, however, if something touched it, it would just go through it.

I then tried to make it take form and become corporeal and as a reaction, I had to squint.

The energy was all now the same color and was even glowing.

'It looks like a glow stick.' 'Must have something to do with my light affinity.'

'I bet if I ever get found out for not being a wind mage I can pretend to be a telekinetic, but that would draw as much attention as a spacial mage.'

I then had another idea. 'wait a second.'

A honeycomb pattern appeared in my mind expanding what felt like infinitely before it shrunk smaller and smaller until it was nearly invisible to my mind. I felt something change in the atmosphere at this point and opened my eyes.

I watched as the energy became dark, really dark. It was so dark that it seemed like it was sucking the light out of the air.

'It's the same reaction.' 'With this I could pretend that I'm a dark mage If necessary, it looks really similar to their energy.'

I changed the pattern again, and this time it was white, but it was bright, a lot brighter than the bright blue. It was also glowing more brightly.

'It's probably because it's reflecting all colors rather than just one.'

'I don't think I can trick anyone into thinking I'm a light mage though, I'm pretty sure it's just a beam of light rather than tendrils. Unless your a healer and this is only cosmetic, as Drak already said.'

This was enough to make my mood rise a little though. Just being able to see the energy made it easier to control and imagine.

I made a small propeller with bright blue color and was able to make it move as fast as a regular one. That means if I ever get in dire trouble, I could reveal my power and increase my control. I looked at the propeller as I imagined a hand reaching out and applying force to it.

It was in my last two years before going into high school that I learned two very important things.

The first was that after testing the box, I learned that it slowed time inside of it to a stop. I had put a pea in there for a week, among a few other things, and when I had gone to check it, it hadn't changed.

It gave the pea traits similar to fast food. The one downfall of was not with the pea, though as I ate it, it was still just as fresh.

I removed everything from the small box and made a quick trip to the kitchen as I readied for more experimenting.

I then put a drop of syrup in the box and quickly shut it. I then picked it up the box and shook it before setting it back down and opening it.

'Just as I though nothing happened it hasn't even started spreading either.' I thought after opening the box and looking at the bead of syrup.

I grabbed a paper towel and wetted and cleaned up the syrup.

'What can I put in there? It prolonged the lifespan of the pea indefinitely. What has such a short lifespan that time must stop.'

This was kept in the back of my mind until one day, while I was out in the woods and had got cut by some thorns, and it became clear to me. The blood on my leg wouldn't last long.

'It would definitely be dry in a few minutes, maybe more if it weren't so hot.'

I then tested something else, I made a cut on my finger then, threw the blood away from myself, and focused, and I could feel. I could feel the blood, and I could also feel the space a small distance around it.

Thinking quickly, I ran as fast as I could from its direction before feeling and focusing again.

'Wow I can still feel it.'

I could already see a bunch of ways that I could use this box.

The first way is that when I am able to create a portal as Drak did, then wherever the box is could be used to store stuff.

Now I finally had a use for the extra wick wood I had been storing.

After I returned home and collected the wood, I got to work. I didn't have nails, but I am the most precise woodworker with the space element.

I slowly cut the wood like jigsaw pieces and then connected them together. When I was done, I had made a decently sized storage box at the foot of the bed.

'There we go. It's not much but honestly I could fit in it.'

'If I ever need more storage I will just go out and build a secret base, I'm almost as efficient at building as an earth mage.'
