Desperate Transformation

"What have you done Weklor?" Arlow asked angrily.

"Only what is necessary," Weklor responded with a neutral tone.

Arlow slowly glanced around the room of the small chamber and met the eyes of each of the Old Ones, inside their psychic titans. He knew most of them, some he even knew from when they were mere hatchlings.

The Immateirum was incredibly thin with 15 concentrated Choran gland-enhanced Honored Ones in one area. It was as if he was not in the Materium at all. All around him swam the silver energies of the Immaterium, while the sound of chanting came from the area.

"You have disappointed me and your teacher, Weklor," Arlow stated, anger simmering in his voice.

"This isn't just my decision. Our people must get rid of your shackles if are to rise any higher." Weklor explained.

"You fool." Arlow shook his head in disappointment.

He attempted to manipulate the energies around him but realized that his influence was negated by something nearby. He looked in the direction of the weakening in the room and was shocked.

"You... where did you get this?!" Arlow exclaimed.

Mechanical arms slowly move a mechanical body forward, causing the energies of the Immaterium to be weakened by its presence. It was a giant metal skeleton made of dark green metals and a dark black coating at its center. A ring of jagged metal was attached to its back, two hoops in replacement for the wings of an angel.

"*Hiss* This is a prototype technology we obtained from the war spoils with the Necrontyr. Its original purpose is to contain energy beings in the Materium and empower them." Weklor explained smugly.

"However, this prototype is more of a prison than a body. It was discarded technology by the Necrontyr. Even though we do not fully understand its effects, we studied enough to ensure it will seal you and devour your influence in the Immateirum until you are nothing more than tattered rags in the wind." Weklor said, sneering.

Weklor motioned with his hand, causing the metallic skeleton to open up, revealing a black core material that looked like obsidian. The energies of the warp were so weakened by the revealing of this core the Choran gland-enhanced titans of the Honored Ones began flickering in and out of existence. The Honored Ones backed off a short way with vigilance.

Arlow's eyes widened in horror at seeing the core material exposed. Because he recognized it. This was pure Mytter condensed in a way he didn't fully understand. The energies of the Immateirum were suppressed because the density of the Mytter in front of him was absorbing it and breaking it apart. If he was to be trapped in there, he would surely be torn apart over time as his own soul would be absorbed by it.

He glanced at the crumpled form of Slagar behind him and could see him shivering in his unconscious state. No doubt any being exposed to this core would feel their soul slowly being devoured as the Mytter devoured Matter like oil floats above water.

He stepped away from Slagar as machine arms pushed the open body after him. He quickly unlatched and opened the silver case he had with him.

*HISS* *CHSSS*

The sound of compressed air being released sounded and the lip of the case opened. Inside the case was an experimental product he had created based off of the title technology of Gorvor. It was a black plasma-like substance that moved with the viscostity of molasses. It being exposed to the material world, caused a second repulsion to hit those in the room. It was not much different from the repulsion felt by the open core of the machine body approaching him.

Weklor eyed the plasma anxiously. Instantly, he signaled to start the sealing ritual chant thier Counsel of Trent had devised to weaken and seal Arlow.

"Since the begining of our people, " Weklor spoke, leading the responses like saying a collective prayer.

"You have been with us." The other members responded.

"You feared our growth and the our race's glory," Weklor continued, the 15 psychic titans raised their hands in unison, summoning immense power for the ritual.

"You cannot repress the truth. Our glory is self evident of our peoples quality." The others followed.

"Just as you had once feared us and stopped our glory." Weklor finished.

"We will stop yours and you will know of your errors." The others finished after.

*CRACKLE* *CRACKLE* *CRACKLE*

*RIPPING SOUNDS*

*PAINFUL SCREAMS*

The Immaterium winds around them crackled with lightning and the usual hymns of the Immateirum no longer sounded so peaceful and ordered. A ripping sound that like of fabric being torn, rang out through the Immaterium. All creatures in the corners of the universe seemed to look up into the heavens at the same time. Somehow feeling a great pain of sorrow in thier hearts, like they had lost something precious they never knew they had.

The winds of the Immaterium warped and changed. The silver colors that once seemed so beautiful and sang a constant ordered hymn, screamed out in agony and pain. It leaft blood red colored winds in thier place. The Immaterium was bleeding like an open wound as the silver influence receeded like the tide. A giant vortext of silver swirled around the research room, entering into the protype energy body like a dry sponge drew in water.

With all the silver winds gathered in one place, the beautiful hymns they sang grew overwhelmingly loud and sad, as if a last goodbye was being sung before they were devoured.

Arlow watched all this happen without much change in expression. He had figured that betray was coming and it would not scare him when it actually happened. Just as wehn he face the indescribable entity and refused its offer. He would go once more into the unknown, with the hope that his preparations would bear fruit.

He manipulated the liquid constuct, using the massive surging of his influence, and pushed it into his soul with [Infusion].

"ARGHHH!" Arlow called out as he felt himself being torn apart by the changes he made to his soul.

He writhed in pain on the ground and the prototype body had reached him. He felt himself being absorbed by the Mytter and could barely struggle against it. The last he could see before falling into darkness was his remaining silver influence of the Immateirum around him being absorbed by the open prototype core, leaving a cold, bloody, and warped Immaterium behind.

The Immaterium would never be the same again. It was only the warped red of what would later be called the Warp was left.

Authors Note:

Firstly, I wanted to reassure people that this is not a nerf for Arlow. This is purely done to beautify the story with symmetry between the two powerful empires. Both empires have benefactors. Both will involve betrayal for greed: one betrays their benefactor and the other the benefactors betray their civilization.

Arlow was a human soul before this, and this is his stage of transformation to something beyond. He was not granted any gifts by powerful beings, he had to find a way to power on his own.
