Chapter 5- Hunting

Snap

Somewhere deep in the forest, an obese man could comically be seen trying to sneak behind a tree.

Lucious had found some small tracks and followed them. He'd been walking for around 1km by the time he noticed the owner of these small tracks.

In the far distance, a small blue rabbit with a dark yellow horn and golden eyes could be seen munching on some berries.

To those who knew about them, blue-furred rabbits are known to be somewhat aggressive and often travel in a group of three. Where there is one, there's other two somewhere nearby.

It's so much harder trying to be stealthy when none of these trees can fully hide my body. Not wanting to alert his prey to his presence, Lucious did his best to hide himself while waiting for the right moment to strike.

Of course, that's easier said than done in this particular instance due to the size of his body. But he was determined, nonetheless.

Crunch

Just as he expected, the other blue-furred rabbits came into view. With all three of them in the open, Lucious raised his hand and aimed at the closest one.

Time to test my final magic spell. Lightning shot! No sooner had he thought that, thin needle shaped spark fired from his hand.

It travelled faster than he was expecting as Lucious was using a level 1 water shot as his frame of reference.

Tsk, it's not strong enough to kill it in one go. As the spark flew through the air and hit the blue-furred rabbit, a small burst of electric covered its body.

It only lasted a few seconds but did enough damage to momentarily cripple it. Seeing his attempt failed, Lucious quickly shot it again with the spell, killing it in the process.

[Ding]

Lightning shot Lucious didn't bother looking at the notifications that suddenly sounded in his head and quickly killed another one before it got too close.

[Ding]

Shut up, you're distracting me. Before he could fire off another spell, the last blue-furred rabbit got within striking range and launched towards Lucious.

He wasn't too confident his current body could keep up, but he was more than willing to try. He quickly grabbed his sword and prepared to counterattack.

"Hng" The blue-furred rabbit's horn stabbed into Lucious's leg and leaped away before he could react.

Lucious gritted his teeth and met its next attack head on with a horizontal slash. His sword clashed with its horn, and it sent the blue-furred rabbit back.

Lightning shot A spark of blue electricity fired and hit the target in the stomach. While it was stunned, Lucious user those precious few seconds to thrust his sword into its head.

With a final glare of defiance, the blue-furred rabbit stared at Lucious and gnashed its teeth as the light faded from its eyes.

[Ding]

Huh? I can earn stat points for my kills? This was quite the welcomed surprise as it meant he could earn stat points without having to use the ones he earned.

Well, let's focus on the task at hand first. Lucious then got to work on removing their horns. He also cut their stomachs open and removed a small blue stone with a dull glow.

"These beast cores are pitiful." Despite his complaining, Lucious quickly pocketed them then used his sword to repeatedly stab their carcasses.

If one were to witness his actions, they'd think he were insane for ruining the meat. But Lucious wanted as much blood to spill as possible.

The blood would attract monsters looking for scraps for him to kill. After ensuring enough blood had spilt, he quickly ran to his previous spot and hid behind the largest tree and waited.

It didn't take too long before a group of small red orbs found their way towards the pile of bloodied corpses.

Fire slimes? Why are they here. As the name suggests, fore slimes are fire attributed and are usually found in hotter regions.

OK, plenty of mana left to deal with them. The fire slimes didn't have time to react before the first water shot slammed into one of them.

As fire slimes are weak to water-based attacks, Lucious's spell killed one of them with a single hit.

Once he saw how vulnerable they are to his attacks, Lucious quickly fired off three more water shot spells and finished them off.

[Ding]

That's great, but why were they here at all? Unfortunately, he didn't have long to think about it as more blue-furred rabbits appeared.

Without giving him a moments respite, the three charged ahead and tried to pierce him with their horns.

This time, Lucious was prepared and managed to block the attack of two. Those who were blocked, were sent flying back before crashing into a tree. While his body may be slow, he is physically stronger than them.

As the two recovered from their daze, Lucious used this time to deal with the third by baiting it to attack.

When the blue-furred rabbit saw its chance, it launched towards Lucious with its horn, only for him to move out the way. As a result, its horn embedded itself into a tree and the rabbit was left defenceless.

Using his sword, he quickly killed it before turning his attention to the other two who were charging him again.

"Nnngh" Unfortunately, they both landed an attack on Lucious and retreated back. Their attacks didn't do too much damage, but that didn't make it hurt any less.

After they retreated back and prepared for another attack, Lucious gripped his sword into a reverse grip and channelled his aura towards his sword and prepared to attack. He ran towards them and slashed his blade horizontally before thrusting it.

[Ding]
