CONTEST OF STRENGTH

Odin stood on a balcony looking out at his domain when Frigga came and stood next to him.

"I am surprised you left Thor to deal with the punishment of the intruder, you know his just going to let me go right"

Odin nodded his head, "I know and I would do the same"

"You would?" asked a surprised Frigga

Odin looked at his wife, "why do you seem so surprised?"

"It's because you love to come off as a ruthless ruler to your subjects"

Odin had a rare smile on his face, one which only his wife and son get to see, "coming off as a ruthless ruler doesn't necessarily mean I am ruthless"

"I know" Frigga replied as she held her husband's hand and the both looked off at the beautiful Asgard landscape.

"Can you imagine what it's like to be the last of your people, to watch your whole world go up in flames?" Frigga asked breaking the silence.

Odin slow shook his head, "I can't. I don't know what I would do if Asgard was destroyed along with it citizens"

"How is he not break down mourning his people…his family" Frigga thought out loud.

"May be he is…in his own way" Odin replied.

Suddenly there was a loud roar and cheering in the distance that caught the couple's attention.

"What is going on?" Frigga asked

Odin looked in to the direction of the loud roar's and cheering and saw that it came from the arena. An arena that had Thor in full armour and hammer and standing next to him the pardoned Intruder.

"It looks like Thor is in the arena" Odin said to his wife.

"Do you want to go watch?" he asked her

Frigga nodded her head, Thor has been moping around lately because of the mortal Jane Foster, may be a fight will improve his mood.

There was a flash of light as Odin teleported in to the king's viewing box in the arena with his wife. They sat down and looked at the Thor and his opponent ready to face off.

Kai looked around the packed arena with cheering supporters and smiled, "just like my former life, fans cheering for him but these fans are Thor's not mine…not yet"

Turning away from the spectators he looked at Thor, "are you ready to loss in front of all your fans?"

Thor laughed out loud, "I don't loss…because I am mighty" he said as he removed his hammer from his belt, after witnessing Kai rip Uru steel as if it was paper, Thor wasn't going to go easy.

"BEGIN" yelled the referee which was followed by the sound of chains being pulled as sections of walls around the arena opened to reveal various species of monsters.

The monsters began to walk out of their holding cells with their eyes full of anger and hunger all focused on Kai and Thor in the centre on the arena.

"Those look like really angry monster…why are we fighting monsters, I thought we were going to have a one on one match?" Kai asked.

Thor slowly shook his head, "if we go one on one, we will never display our true abilities as we will hold back so as not to cause serious injuries, but against these monsters, there is no need to hold back. The winner will be the one that slays the most monster"

Right then the monsters roared and attacked.

Seeing about a hundred beasts charging at him, Kai felt excitement flowing through his body, "let's do this"

Kai and Thor both picked a direction and run towards the monsters head on with Kai reaching his first.

He quickly formed fists and punched out with four quick jabs using all his strength, this took out four monsters in a shower of blood and flesh.

Kai looked at his fists covered in blood and expected to be uncomfortable with the sight of blood and the taking of a life but he didn't feel any discomfort.

In fact he felt an adrenaline rush... suddenly there was a roar as a monster jumped at him to which reacted with a simple back hand, that separated its head form its body.

"So easy" Kai said as sinister smile formed on his face and his blue eyes turned red and began glowing.

"Kill" he whispered as he vanished entering super speed mode.

Thor was about to hit his tenth monster with his hammer when it suddenly exploded in blood and gore.

"What the fuck ….." He said in shock.

Thor began to look around trying to find the answer when he noticed that all over the arena monsters start to burst in glorious blood explosions.

"What is going on?" he asked out loud.

It wasn't only Thor that was stunned by this sight, Odin, Frigga and the other Asgardians watching couldn't understand why the monster were exploding.

Seconds later, they found their answer when Kai appeared floating in the air above the area holding two severed heads of monsters still dripping fresh blood.

"Now that's mighty" Thor said as he looked up at Kai.

Suddenly the earth under the arena began to shake like an earth quake rolled in to town then came a loud roar as a mammoth of a beast walked on to the arena.

Thor turned his gaze from Kai to the massive beast and whistled, "Impressive, they also got an adult frost beast from Jotunheimr"

The spectators began to cheer when they saw the massive frost beast as there hungering for more fighting took over.

Kai looked down at the frost beast, "kill" he said.

Thor gripped his hammer and held it up to the sky as grey thunder clouds formed and sent lightning to the hammer.

"This one is mine" he said.

But before Thor could strike the frost beast with lightning, Kai flow at the frost beast right under its belly, carried it and throw it up in to the sky.

All the spectators even Thor followed the frost beast as it flow up in to the air and then suddenly there was a beam of red light and the frost beast was dissected to numerous neat 3X3X3 cubes of flesh that began raining down in to the arena.

Seeing the frost beast dissected raining down in the arena, the Asgardian spectators went quiet in disbelief. They watched say the cubes land around a still floating Kai creating the image of a battle god.

"Who the hell is this guy?" they all thought.

Thor cancelled the lightning as he looked at the dissected frost beast cubes that had stopped raining down then up at Kai who was now slowly floating down to the ground.

"I guess this is your win Kal El" Thor said as he slowly approached Kai.

Kai landed and looked at Thor with his eyes still glowing red with his sinister smile still showing.
