When the smoke spread hurriedly, creating a murky atmosphere. The night, the smoke, the freezing air, everything was ominous.
Elvirita shivered violently at the dropping temperature. Hugging her sides, she moved back.
Zephyr also exhaled in relief that the moment was broken else he might have ended up doing something he would regret.
Watching her from the corner of his eyes, he attempted to catch some smoke or know what it was but to no avail.
"What is happening? Who is it?" Elvirita asked vaguely, softly.
"How am I supposed to know?"
Her breaths were becoming rough, her body failing to handle the coldness, it was oddly familiar, it was something horrendous she urged to suppress but failed.
"This is so cold, Zephyr,"
Her shaky tone came out, almost falling to her knees. Zephyr held her arms, noticing how her body was becoming stiff.
