He leaned in, pellets of water splashing at me as he undid my belt before helping me out. It had been cold in the car even with the heater on but it was nothing like the chill that was waiting for me once outside of it. Deacon pulled my hood up, ushering me towards the door, trying to escape the sky's fury. Water ricocheted off the sidewalk, gushing along the road in a rapid flowing river.
