Chapter 6

"No matter the world I visit, they all act the same."

He laughed as he walked forward. His hulking figure was one that every grown person in the world recognised. The great white dragon that had left so many records during his time.

One that was called the pinnacle of power with no equal had fallen and was now under the control of the invaded, becoming a mere pawn.

"At a time where they should all be binding together to deal with the threat they are facing, they all are scheming behind the battlefield to see which one of them comes out on top.

You see, I must thank your leaders, their stupidity and naivety allowed me more time here than I ever expected. Due to their games, I gained more pawns than I ever imagined and ….

Ahhh, now I can't tell you that, it's supposed to be a secret. But well as a testament to your will and fervor. I will grant you a warrior's death."

The man's giant figure began transforming as he finished his words. An armor made of white dragon scales surrounded his figure and he grew even bigger in size, a huge spear with a canine tooth of a dragon as its spear head appeared in his hands and he faced the two elves that stood before him.

Aricia concentrated and summoned her spirit for the first time in the battle, Sylphid, the spirit king of wind. Increasing her strength so as to face the enemy, her sister, the only other surviving elf summoned her own spirit, also a spirit king, Raiden, the spirit king of lightning.

The battle between the three parties was by no means an easy one, the entirety of the fortress was destroyed and blown apart by the force and aftermath of their strikes. While the two elves working together were able to suppress the white dragon and even injure him, it wasn't without a cost, Tricia was down to her last legs, having suffered more injuries and damage than she should be able to withstand, but she pushed herself to stand by Aricia's side and support her.

They just needed one well aimed strike to end the battle and the dragon was aware of that, so he wasn't allowing them the chance to do so.

The sisters exchanged glances and nodded, both splitting in different directions, planning to get the white dragon lord with a pincer attack, they both were fast, especially when considering the elements their spirit dealt with.

.

The dragon lord kept his cool and raised his spear, planning to deal with the pests before him, certainly they were stronger than he had expected, especially the silver haired one that led the attack. Perhaps she had already crossed the boundary and was already on the path to godhood, but she hadn't realised it yet.

Those fools that called themselves leaders just sent the greatest chance they had at defeating him and ending the plans of the invader to her death but who was he to object, after all he understood what they feared, even if they all bounded together to take her and her siblings down, they would fail, this was the only chance to prune them.

He snapped out of his thoughts and focused on disrupting the major threat, the silver one, he coated his spear in the energy he received from the lord on the other side and performed a thrust, a strike made as a feint, expecting the warrior to avoid it so he could deliver a stronger strike to end the battle, but the unexpected happened.

She received the strike with her body, the spearhead piercing through her tummy and it exited through the back, she then changed her stance and held the spear with her left hand, leaving the dragon lord with no weapon to attack.

Her sister capitalized on this opening and condensed what he assumed was the greatest strike she could use, launching it right at him at point blank range, an arrow made of the purest lightning he had ever sign pierced through his back an entered his body, detonating inside him, an excellent display of both power and control that he acknowledged, alas what a shame, she burnt through her life and soul to deliver that strike, she died in that posture.

His armour was destroyed and his insides were greatly damaged, he truly didn't expect the sisters to both throw away their lives just to defeat him, but they had failed, he was still standing and they were both dead.

Correction, the weaker one was dead, the one he had impaled was still alive, however the corrupted energy had flowed within her channels and was changing her, it was only a matter of time before she either died or became one with the master.

The dragon lord smiled and he tried to declare his victory, but the eyes of the woman opened, a resolute expression he could see within them, she hadn't given up yet. He truly wondered what she could do in her condition, so he opened his mouth to speak, but he was forced to stop.

He had been pierced and the left side of his chest and leg was missing.

'A strike that had broken the boundary, I couldn't see it'

He thought to himself. She did the impossible, albeit on the verge of death. From that strike of her this body and soul was damned, useless and its end was near, but the dragon showed a smile instead of despair. He opened his mouth to ask her, as if he wasn't the one with half his body missing.

"Who are you woman, your name"

"Aricia, daughter of the Irlst"

"Aricia, I will remember you"

And the dragon collapsed, the link between him and the invader on the other side had vanished, but it wasn't all for naught, he had sown a seed in one that had broken past the limits, it was only a matter of time before he had her.

.

"Aricia, I will remember you"

Aricia shook her head, unbothered by the remarks of the fallen dragon Lord, she knew after all that there was no way he was going to survive her strike. She had felt the barrier obstructing her, the wall that stopped her from growing any stronger break down when she made that strike, it was the end, they had won.

But the cost was great. Of the hundred and seventy two sisters that left the coven with her, she was the only one left standing, and even that might not be for long. She could feel the repulsive energy of the fallen travel through her body through the spear lodged in her trunk, but even then she couldn't remove it immediately as there was no way to treat it if she did.

She could only remain standing and try to mitigate the effects of the otherworldly incident energy that was settling in her body.

A short while passed and the team that was supposed to aid the Irlst sister in their final stand against the general's army finally made an appearance, but the sightthat lay before them was an incredible one.

One woman stood alone in the midst of countless corpses and rubble, the body of the dragon Lord of ages lay at her feet and his spear lodged through her abdomen. On her skin were purple patches, patches that spanned the lower half of her face, her neck, back and some other places as far as they could see.

Her once emerald pupils had turned purple and she looked at her army that approached her, but there was neither light nor focus in her eyes.

"Are you here to help me, or are you here to finish the job"

Her cold voice resounded through the battle area. Although they could hear the trembling in her tone, and they could see that she could barely stand, using the spear which impaled her as a support to stand, no one dared to approach her or breathe loudly, they were like prey before predator.

What should have been the dying moments of a fallen warrior was transformed into the rise of a new saint, all those who were present could only drop down on their knees and pay homage to Aricia.

She didn't close her eyes, neither did her figure falter until Palmer, a friend of hers and a healer not affiliated with either of the major forces came and tended to her wounds and took her away.

"That day, the warrior Aricia of Irlst died to the world."

**********************************************************

"You know since that day sisters, I lost interest in everything. We gave everything for those pieces of shit, our lives, blood, loyalty, our everything just to bring back peace to the world. Yet they couldn't put aside their petty squabbles, they couldn't forget their thirst for power, just for a moment.

After the war, the healing saint said the price it would cost to heal me was more than they could afford, can you imagine that sisters?"

"Hahahaha"

She laughed out loud.

"We gave everything to end that war, not even a single one of us survived just to end the war and they couldn't even heal me, the price was too much."

She drank more of the wine, tears falling from her eyes.

"What about the lives of my sisters, what about my eyes. What about us? We had no wort, no value?

I couldn't face it. So I left. I asked Bell to return to the monastery and look after you sisters and I left. I faked my death and travelled around the world, helping the poor kids who suffered from the war, but alas, I can't escape my destiny.

I found a young kid that reminded me of our childhood, that reminded me of you guys."
