The beginning of the Tale.

The world is bright and beautiful. It's vibrant nature and energy brings out the true beauty of the world, however like any other place, the world also had its evils and darkness's, monsters, demons, undead. All of that which would simply wish to spill blood upon the land, ruining its natural beauty and spreading the harshness of reality across the very world itself.

In the world of Evertale, that is currently what's happening. Evil has spilled out from every shadow and threatens to swallow the world. If not for the gods whom brought upon new powers to the world, it would have crumbled long ago.

The gods each chose their own champions to give abilities and power to. Only picking the most strong and high willed of people. And so 12 where chosen, 12 heros that would need to clean up the planet, and send the evil back into its depths and darkness. As they all, even the god's knew, you can't get rid of the darkness. It will always find a way back.

So the god's of the world decided that every 100 years, 12 heroes would be summoned into the world. To combat the darkness and keep it at bay hoping to keep the peace in the world for all beings of light. Whether it be humans, Demi humans such as elf's and drawfs, and animal people. There are countless animals and wildlife, and even fantasy creatures like the dragons and lizard men, whom are actually quite peaceful creatures contrary to belief. All of these where children and creations of the Light.

Sure enough the world is like any other, so fighting between the light was inevitable. As peoples greed was always a part of the soul. And so the world was split into many factions, kingdoms, and even small tribes all around. There where a total of 12 Kingdoms on the largest continent.

This place was called Ever-end. The continent of of mixed races where all races lived equally in there respective home, lands and areas. Each kingdom held its own laws, rules and ideals, Along with there own greed and goals. Some worse then others.

The 12 kingdoms where mostly at peace with each other while fighting always continued in the shadows. Racism was very much a thing, hate and prejudice roamed the world as freely as the people.

It was not an easy world to live in. And for some it would be harder then others.

Majority of the worlds population is made up of Humans. Next would be the Demi human animal people then the elf's and lastly the dwarfs. The rest only lived in small tribes secluded away from the rest of the world. Such as the lizard people, the avians. And many other races.

The drawfs lived underground, the elves in forests and humans and Demi humans in cities and towns. With lots of towns and village around in every kingdom. Again some better off then others.

But where did all this darkness come from? Well, over a million years ago man first discovered the riches the world produced and how to use them, they took and took from the world without giving back to the planet they live on. And sure enough the planet itself almost like it was a being, brought upon the darkness, the monsters and evil to cull the people whom sought to take advantage of the planet. And so the light created darkness with its own shadow.

The world still strives for balance and peace but with the way people live, it was very difficult for the planet to heal and grow healthy once more. So Over the last millions of years, people have evolved, new races where born, and the world grew. But not in the natural way it wanted or needed. And as such the planet had basically died. And the pent up darkness took hold, the planet itself was like a giant egg holding in thousands and millions of shadows and all sorts of evils unknown to the world.

And that's why the gods took control and brought it upon themselves to hold back the darkness from breaking free. This is why they would choose candidates to become there chosen heroes of the world. It was a necessary power needed to stop the darkness from growing. As even the gods themselves feared the shadows as it threatens to consume their world, where their people and followers lived. And if the people fell? Then the gods would be next.

And so the battle of light and darkness continues on.

Like a never ending Tale.

Now in the year 4057 the worlds state was not much different. There where still the 12 kingdoms along with there people. But it was about that time when the darkness would once again bare its fangs into the world. And so, the 12 gods quickly got together and formed a plan. Each of the 12 gods then chose there own champion from around the entire world.

One boy in particular was chosen by the god of foresight and vision. The boys name is Lore Kindred. The son of Ava kindred, His mother and Dawn Kindred, the boys father. The reason this boy was chosen? Because he was the best choice, the boy had not an ounce of power or ability, he was as mundane as they come. So the god chose him because the boy would be a perfect vessel for his power.

The Kindreds where a farming family that lived in the village of ForFrost, a village contrary to its name was always in blissful, warm and bright weather. The village was closest to the kingdom of Valenfall, a kingdom run by humans. So the village was well off. They had good supplies being brought in and goods being sold out to the kingdom. It was a wealthy village compared to most.

And at this current time, Lore was sitting on a wooden stool in the middle of his family's living room, it was quite spacious, had nice couches and a nice table in between. There where paintings of flowers and other lovely things hung up around the room as well. Now why was he sitting on the stool in the middle of the room? Well that's because his parents where standing behind him, looking at his bare back. And what they where looking at was a large faded black symbol. The symbol looked like an eye with small wings. Kind of creepy is what the parents thought.

But they knew, aswell as many others what this marking meant. There son Lore, was chosen to be a hero by one of the grand 12 god's. There was nothing more promising then a life of a hero. Or so they thought. Because really no one ever really gets to see the life of a hero as they would be away fighting for there life and the life's of the people. In reality the life as a hero was tough, painful, dreadful, full of blood and destruction. The only thing that the world did for its heroes was to give them fame and money. And some minor support in terms of gear and such. But back to the happy couple who where bear hugging there child. Meanwhile the boy sat on the stool, half naked, and very confused about what was going on as his parents hadn't said a word yet, they just looked at his back because he felt a burning sensation. And now there happily hugging him and now even crying tears of joy.

"So…umm…what's exactly going on? Dad?"

The father stopped as he felt he was acting a bit to sappy for the man of the household. He quickly wiped away his tears and wiped his runny nose. Crossing his arms and sticking his chest out to seem more…manly.

"Ehem…well Lore, you see son, that so called burning feeling you had was nothing bad. I'm fact it's a miracle! You must take after your father and start training hard ok?"

"Uhh sure, but why?"

He sat there still quite confused. At least his back stoped hurting.

The mother calming down now jumped in the conversation.

"What your father is trying to say Lore, is that you've been chosen. Chosen by the gods to be a hero! That burning on your back? It was your gods crest forming!"

The boys eyes went wide from his mothers words. He quickly jumped up off the stool and ran to the bathroom, grabbing his mothers small handheld mirror out of the bathroom drawer and holding it behind him, while looking in the large mirror on the bathroom wall above the sink. And true enough, there it was, a large faded black symbol that looked like an eye with wings.

The boy quickly ran back to the living room passing his happy parents and running straight over to a book shelf. He rummaged through until he found the book he was looking for. It was the book of the 12 gods. There ways, there beliefs, and even there symbol that represents them. He brought the book over with him as he sat on the couch, placed the book on the table, opened it up and started to flip through the pages. He read and read until he finally found it.

"The God of Foresight and Vision, a god that lives it's life viewing and watching. Waiting and predicting. A mellow god whom doesn't like nor hate violence. He is the 4th power in the line of the 12 gods…..wow…I seriously got chosen by a god…this is….it's…it's amazing!!!

The boy was as happy as his parents where now that he knew the situation, If anything he was happier then they were. And so started the training of the 8 year old Lore. He would train for 8 years until he was 16, which is the age young ones become adults.

It would be then that the boy would venture out into the world to explore, gain power, and fight the evil of the world, along with 11 other champions that would one day be drawn together by their God's and eventually forming,

The 12 Champions of Light.

And so begins the story. As 12 champions around the world begin there new life, each training in there own unique ways that caters to there new abilities they received from there God. Each of the 12 would go through many harsh moments and even possible some darker and more depressive times. As the world works in mysterious ways, no one can guess what may lay before the 12 and what the paths they may follow. Only one thing is known for sure. The fact that the heroes where chosen, means that the darkness, the evil, was on the rise.

It would be a waiting game for many to know whether they will stay in the light. Or be swallowed up by the darkness. Only 12 beings around the entire world would be able to stop the evil, but what about the rest of the world? It seems that the god's themselves have picked favourites among the people of the world. But no one alive, can question them and there almighty power. Who would even try….

4 years have gone by since the selection of the champions. 4 years of hard work, dedication, blood sweat and tears and gruesome training. Expecially for the young man Lore Kindred, whom had no abilities or powers to speak of, nothing has manifested in the boy aside from the symbol on his back. But nevertheless his father made sure to train him hard. He taught the boy swordsmanship, close combat martial arts. How to use a bow and arrow, and made him work out and train his body every chance he could. For the last 4 years, all Lore did was train daily. And right now the young man was currently standing in a field, face to face with his father. Both holding a small wooden sword, both in a fighting ready stance, waiting for the other to make the first move.

Many of the villagers watched them spar on many occasions even betting on the father and son. And like any other match, Lore lost, but he was much better than last year, and the year before. His father was actually started to get slow and tired as he started to take the train and sparring more seriously as his son grows stronger. But the boy was frustrated. He still hasn't shown any progress in the gods abilities.

"Damn…another bust today aswell…it would help if I at least knew what to try, I mean I tried to dream, see visions and a bunch of crap but there nothing, nothing at all…" he pouted to himself as he wiped the sweat off his skinny but muscular body.

He walked over and looked in the mirror as he does everyday to see the physical progress he was making.

The boy was around 5'8" weighing around 118 pounds. A skinny but muscular body, his hair was long and tied in a pony tail that reached down to his mid back, his eyes where sharp and beautiful to look at like little blue gems. Now that he got a good look at Himself, he was quite proud of his progress. "Although. My hair is a bit long…." He opens a drawer pulling out a pair of scissors, grabbing the pony tail and cutting it off.

"Wow that actually feels much better, should have done that a while ago"

He put the scissors away and walked towards the door to his room, tossing the chopped off pony tail of bright Red hair into the trash before heading to the bathroom to wash up.

At the age of 12 years old, Lore was already proficient with a sword, but his skills with other weapons was lacking, as was his martial arts. But with a sword? The boy seemed like a natural wielding his fathers old Katana. After all his father used to be in the army as commander. So he knew what he was doing as he taught his son. And so Lore, his main form of combat would be swordsmanship. And without the help of his god, he was basically just a 12 year old boy that was stronger then the average and knew how to fight a bit. But other then that? He was still a mundane human, just one good with a sword.

Lore aside from training his body, also trained his mind, he meditates everyday and even studies. He was a curious person by nature, so gaining knowledge was a fun time for him.

He was currently more curious about the other 11 champions and what they're up to, if there training like him, or maybe out fighting the evil already. What kind of abilities do they have, what gods chose them and why? And a question that was stuck in his mind ever since he got the god's mark on his back, why was he, out of all the people, why was he chosen? And why doesn't he have any ability or power?all these questions where always in the back of his mind. Along with many others that he didn't think were important enough to find out the answers to. After all he wasn't dumb, and the boy knew the old saying. "Curiosity killed the…damn it…"

The boy had forgotten the ending to the saying.

He may not be dumb, but by no means is the boy a genius. After all most of his time the last few years have been spent on physical training, and only side studies when he had time. If anything the boys iq would be around the average persons. But it was slowly getting better the more he learned. After all, one can only gain nothing from doing nothing. One must be willing to actually do something to achieve anything. And as such each of the 12 chosen, had their own paths to follow and their own goals to achieve before they would save the world. After all. People are still people.

Just because a god chooses one person, doesn't mean said person had to be a good hearted person. In fact some of the past hero's where actually evil people that where just strong enough that they attracted the gods attentions. There's a reason why they wait 100 years before selecting again. As having to many people with such potent abilities and powers would upset the balance the gods have found and rely upon. After all if the world falls, then the 12 god's would no longer have a world to rule, and overtime they to would fade into nothingness.
